  • I remember this exact play....I was a die hard pacers fan.....sigh

  • I remember that game....But How was that a Foul, Though?

  • I miss my 90s Knicks more than any sports team in my entire life....

  • @jdtrigger Agreed dude. I would take the 90's knicks that used to play defense over our offensive only squad now. I miss the good old days.

  • 4-4-4-4

4 secs remaining: Allan Houston made a miracle shot! HEAT in dismay

4 game sweep: KNICKS sweep the HAWKS

4 point play: LJ behind the arc and get fouled.

4 game win: SPURS win 4 games in NBA Final vs. KNICKS

  • Isiah Thomas is a jackass.

  • This is a bullshit shot, it shouldn't have been an and 1.

  • First off the first round needs to go back to a best of five series. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • god sports are good. please no lockout!

  • knicks for life

  • melo will finally bring the knicks to glory for a once proud franchise. f*** isiah, god bless nyc!!!

  • anyone else notice Tom Thibodeau at 3:53

  • left hand on the hip, right hand on the wrist and LJ FUCKING nailed it!

  • i was at this game. 3rd row. i jumped on my dad. fucking epic

  • there's only one problem...the foul came 2 whole seconds before the shot.

  • @jtcrough continuation i guess.....

  • man game 3 on friday will be crazy

  • Watching this play never gets old. Legendary play!

  • Houston traveled, Indiana shouldn't have had to play those bastards

  • @farneyblakeley There's no such thing as traveling in the NBA! LJ LJ LJ!!! Reggie Miller can blow me

  • I miss the old days of basketball. I was only about 12 or 13 when LJ hit the shot and is still my biggest sports memory of all time. Why can't the NBA be like it was...tough competition throughout the league, players with class and heart...it has lost all the greatness it use to have.

  • @osforlife1 Only problem with that is people were saying the same about the NBA 10 years ago.

  • im a knick fan, and after all these years i can finally admit that he didn't get fouled on that three, I can't believe the refs gave us the game haha. thanks referees!!!!

  • Even back then the Heat were the enemy, haha!

  • By the way this was in Indiana where I was watching it. This play shook the ground across the entire nation!

  • I still remember where I was. This game was on my bday. I was at the mall in foot locker. About 10 of us around the tv. When he hit that the store went nuts.

One of my fav sport plays of all time.

  • every time i watch this i get chills, i was in lav vegas watching this, it was crazy.

  • Practiclt the enitre CITY jumprf up at the same time. I was at a local sports bar. The entire place went into pandamonium. Ill never forget that moment in spacetime. Still gives me chills.

  • Greatest 4 point play in the history 6asket6all

  • @djoogz fucking slob nigger

  • @bkgangsta234 Classy.

  • 5 Pacer fans did not like this video.

  • this is why we need to bring pride back to msg. we have so much pride and knowledge as fans. just give us some talent!

  • @dickiezf I have to watch this every once in awhile it still gives me goosebumps. When is the last time the garden shook like that. It's been too fucking long.

  • The only play I can even think of that would compare to this was a Duke game with Jason Williams I think they played Indiana but Jason Williams missed the free throw to tie the game. The odds of this happening it's rare to see a 4 point play any game.

  • I miss these series they were so awsome just like watching the Giants beating the Patriots in the superbowl but every game. The Bulls, Pacers, and the Heat no rings but the fights/games. The hatred when the Knicks played in Miami Starks giving the fans the finger unbelievable! This was my favorite moment it was just unfuckingbelievable.

  • Comment removed

  • Antonio Davis, Reggie Miller, Mark Jackson, Jalen Rose, and Dale Davis disliked this

  • @platolol LOL

  • I've always regretting and been ashamed at myself during this play, I turned the TV off as I had to be going ... thinking it was over. I only realized later when someone was talking about it ... I was like HUH!??? No way, ... then ........ SAAAWEEEEEEEEEETTTT!

  • i watched this on TV and i just remember what everyone else remembers and its the top view of the Garden and the crowd BLOWING up literally. i hated the pacers, so when this happened, oh my god, i got chills, i was yelling, jumping up and down. its was one of the best memories of all my years of playing and watching basketball.

  • he was men among boys at UNLV. Unfortunately , in the NBA, his back injury prevented him to reach his peak

  • This still gives me chills..

  • 5 Pacer fans don't like this

  • @knicks1616 Probably that lineup that was playing ;)

  • 5:57 the crowd

  • Lebrons not coming, but if he wants to experience the lows and highs of NYC, then it will be here.

  • Didn't matter if he wasn't even guarded, they were gonna call a foul on that no matter what...thats the NBA for ya...no other team other than the lakers would get that foul

  • Show LeBron this video. If he doesn't want to come here after seeing this, than nothing is going to work.

  • This video makes me proud of being a Knicks fan.

  • @ElTuco84 True indeed

  • after the bulls the knicks were like the second best team in the 90's along with the pacers jazz rockets spurs and sonics and magic to a degree

  • It would be fantastic to see the garden get wild and crazy like that again. LETS GO KNICKSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember watching this game on tv when I was 10. I jumped up off my seat along with the Garden when he hit that shot. And I clearly remember LJ telling his teammates to calm down because he's got to hit that free throw. Some memories just stay with you forever.

I bleed Orange and Blue till I die

  • Next to the Giants Shawshank Reception. (Manning to Tyree) that's one of the best plays in NY sports history. God I love being a knick fan. I miis those days. I sure wish Patrick had gotten a ring.

  • People don't realize is that THOSE playoff games WERE the NBA championship. I remember watching this at a local resturant. Not a sports bar amd the whole place exploded.

  • God, I love them singin a hook to a DMX song at 2:35. Nothing more bonding than DMX.

  • Now we all agree this was the ultimate bullshit call, right? ridiculous...

  • i miss this time in nba bbal..especilly knicks basketball..donnie walsh should be ashamed of himself for letting the team be such a disaster in the 200's..back then they had gritty players that really went with the identity of the team ..now its lets be horrible and pray 4 lebron look at camby at 7:50 classic

  • Great, great team and unforgettable moment. I was disappointed that the mayor of NYC didn't give '99 Knicks a parade. I think they really deserve it even after they lost the finals. All he cared about were his freakin' Yanks. The tremendous battle, hard work and camaraderie was one the best!

  • Anyone know the name of the special that this was on, or the list of plays that made the special?

  • you see spike lee jump onto the court hahaha

  • I loved this era.

  • @yayo7182002 90's was the best era of nba

  • Man, I was there at the Garden for this game. Man, I lost my voice when the shot dropped. Great, great game.

  • I'll never forget that moment - joyous - I was screaming at the top of my lungs - that play epitomized the '99 team.

  • RandySWilson = FAIL. You are clearly not a Pacer fan. No true Pacer fan has or would ever say something so batshat insane. I understand Knick fans being blind to the clearly erroneous call - after all, I would never say that Reggie fouled MJ prior to that last second three in 98. But you don't have to join them. Maybe you should go find a $5000 a month closet-apartment and eat some soggy cardboard pizza. You'll feel right at home.

  • @jackomon and you should chill. WHo gives a shit?

  • those were the glory days of the knicks can't wait for summer 2010 to see if we sign somebody

  • this is the shot what brings me to watch and play basketball

  • why didn't the pacers foul before the shot to send him to the free throw line with 2 ft?

  • haha their coach is stupid

  • Not a bad idea, but too much time on the clock, allen. I think if you foul him, and he hits both, the pressure is on the pacers to hit their freethrows, as the knicks would surely foul them right after as well.... take away about 1.5seconds to 2 seconds for each foul, and it would be like 7-8 seconds, Knick ball and a now, a possible 2 or even one-point game.... in the garden.

  • because......

  • I was there wit a friend of mine, scalped tickets to sec 407, moved down to 204 in the fourth got lucky as 2 seats either didn't show up or went home early. When he hit this shot we literally DOVE over our seats onto 2 female knick fans behind us, (one of em had red hair I remember) Puff Daddy ran onto the court wavin the orange and blue towel and it was absolute madness. After the game the drunken chant was JEFF VAN GUNDY! goin down the escalators. Knicks not supposed to win this one, but did.

  • NICE MAN!!!

  • Greatest play in Knick history. I remember watching that game on tv and jumping up along with the crowd as he hit it. JVG was right, it does send chills down my back too

Come on Knicks, bring New York basketball back baby!!!

  • I remember that game, I have never felt anything like the joy I felt that day since. It felt like you cheated death, I was exhausted like I was on the damn court. And than for it to be against the Pacers?! Forget about it, that was real basketball.

  • yeah, yeah, that was nice and all.......... but he wasn't f'n fouled, pacers got robbed just like the phantom fouls against them in the 2000 finals f*** the big markets we should've had a ring

  • dude don't be bitter. lj bitched you guys just suck it up

  • I think you need to watch again.

  • Dude...As a Pacer Fan I can understand your pain when this happened but at the same time he was fouled clearly in the arm as he was in motion before he started to shoot. Its called continuation and what really happened was it was a late whistle

  • i was 11 years old. sitting in front of the tv when i seen this play. the feeling i had when that happen, idk if i'll ever feel the same way ever again for one single moment. greatest knick moment ever. i get chills when i watch this video. lebron & knicks in 10'

  • what happened to the knicks? Lot of playoff battles all through the 90's

  • thats the american spirit

  • i remeber watching that play,amazzzzing

  • Never seen anything like it. The Garden never reacted in that fashion to anything not even when the Rangers won the cup in 1994 after 54 years of waiting and considering how that place can rock and roll that is saying a lot.

  • For those who don't understand why people like sports and get so connected and hooked on teams, well those people just need to watch this and I think all misunderstandings will be clarified. When that moment happened time stood still. All who were watching were transported away from reality and just became a part of a single moment in time when nothing else mattered but that exact moment, Knicks fan or not.

  • i watched that game as a little kid and was able to witness it and i have to say that has to be one of the greatest shots of all time

  • This has got to be in the top 5 NBA plays of ALL time. Just for its significance alone.

  • nothing beats this

  • What the fuck? At 4:00, Allan Houston totally travels.

  • I believe its called the pivot foot.. :-)

  • i believe you are a gaycers fan

  • wow i remember this shit

  • NY was electric that season thanks for the vid

  • I was at this game as a child. I was 12, sitting in section 346, my dad told me lets go near the exit to start beating traffic but we'll watch the end from there. I said whatever fine, there was alot of people doing this as well. He made the shot and it was the most insane thing I had ever been apart on, strangers were hugging and high 5'ving after the game people were running outside the garden screaming LJ!! It was the best game I had ever been to.

  • The Narrator is Private Joker from Full Metal Jacket....

  • from 6:35 that guy is just talking out of his ass... What an awesome moment tho! GO NEW YORK! GET LEBRON!

  • LJ !!

  • I mean. Probably it's because Industry took over passion. 82 games a year + playoffs. Every year since...I forgot 1950? Obviously, even I got bored...or rather fed up.

  • jermaine O'Neal. not as good as the Shaq and as you say... :) .the following generation. jesus. What happened?

  • wow amazing! and ya who fouled him

  • This was when the Knicks played for something. WHen NY meant something.

  • I agree. This was when basketball was good. Now it's just a bunch of highschoolers who can dunk but cant shoot or play defense for shit. Oh yeah who was the dick head who fouled him?

  • when basket ball used to be what it was ;P

  • I'm in tears on the floor

  • this was when basket ball was goo in a whole. now it sucks

  • gotta love the Matthew Modine 'stache

  • LETS GO KNICKS! Hate all U want. NYC is the BEST city on Earth!

  • cant agree more go knickerbockers, we will get to the promise land again all this waiting will make it that much sweeter!!!

  • this was the biggest load of crap play ever. Was fouled way before the shot. He had enough time to plant both feet square up to shoot his entire normal shot routine....all while after the foul! BS

  • cry cry

  • it's called continuation.

  • Can't wait til 2010 when we get Lebron

  • dude lebron is not coming bro

  • he actually is, would be the smartest biggest and most money decision he'll ever make. there's no where like NY

  • the dude at 6:45 is talking absolute BS

  • i remember absolutely shitting my pants when this happened hahaha i went crazyyy best knicks moment ever

  • LJ!!!

  • what a moment. i remember watching that with my pops

  • i'm not a knicks fan but i love this spectacular player and in particular this unbelievable play

  • larry is next door right now to my house with his ex girlfriend

  • Larry Johnson is one of the best players ever to play the game. On par with Bird and MJ I'd say.

  • thats going a bit far but their is no question that he was a phenom, who would have been better had it not been for those serious injuries that took away much of his athleticism

  • I cried...

  • i am crying.

  • my dick is crying

  • If I had been a Knicks fan at that game, I would have literally had a seizure!

  • I know Gus Johnson wishes he was calling that shot haha

  • Gus Johnson would've probably exploded.

btw, i realized when he was talking about after the shot, he's got a great narrating voice. i like Matthew Modine, but Gus Johnson would've been cooler to read for this clip.

  • If u put up the Top 25 moments in New York sports history, this moment would be number 25 cause the reaction from the crowd, that reaction was louder than Aaron Boone hitting the home run against the Red Sox

  • What foul? Where IS the foul?

  • if i was a knicks fan, this would have been the greatest moment of my life.

  • And yes, it was one of the greates moments of my life as a Knick fan. The other one was "The Dunk".

  • I was pretty young when I saw this, probably around 12. I was at a BBQ with my family. Everyone at the party was inside watching the game, going nuts. All the hot dogs got burnt.

  • this was the game where i won the dress dribble and shoot contest on the garden floor...season tickets since i was 2...won it when i was six...16 now and still have the tickets

  • Thats when the KNICKS had HEART ! Now we have a SOFT team and a Coach who doesn't teach DEFENSE? Im a life long Knick fan, so Im preparing myself for another losing season. Eddie Curry YOUR a BUM, your soft. Starbury, your also soft like starburst.

  • amen, brotha!

  • amen amen amen. Damn I miss those knicks!

  • i wish the knicks were like this today

  • The Best Basketball moment in MSG History!

    #1 LJ's 4 Point Play

#2 Willis Reed playing in Game 7 of '70 Finals

#3 Ewing's Tip Dunk in Game 7 of '94 ECF

    #4 Reggie's 8 Points in a few seconds in Game 1 of '95 ECSF

#5 Jordans dunk on Ewing in the '91 ECQF

I could write on forever but they're the moments that stick in my mind from the Garden.

  • hahahahahahaha larry johnson 4 point play cmes behind reed cmmin out fa like 5 min in da finals nd reggies 8pts iz da top 2

  • What # is "The Dunk"?

  • I'm a NY sports fan, and I miss the days when the Knicks were great. I was a kid during the Ewing/Starks days, and I miss them. The Knicks have fallen off from being on the level with the Yankees, Giants, and Rangers. Success could bring them back, but my anger at the Dolans and the franchise for keeping with Isiah for so long make me doubt I'll ever again love the Knicks as I did during the days of the LJ 4-point play.

What a play...one of the best NY sports moments ever.

  • I remember watching this on tv, and flipping the fuck out. Great moment.

  • Gracias por el video

  • Thank you so much for the video. I remember I was a young dude when this happened and I literally felt like jumping out the window because I thought I could fly.

  • i think jeff van gundy meant: "i can tell u without equivocation"

  • this is when basketball was the best

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!! Thank you.

  • Man those were the days.

Now I look at this Knicks team and I just wanna cry! ;[

    But I still love them.

  • It was a great call. He beat his man plain and simple. They always tell you dont leave your feet for that exact same reason. He made a head fake the guy left his feet and fouled him. He still had his hand on LJ's hip when he released the ball..

  • fuck you homo

  • loved those days as well ma n...Larry Johnson a gr8 player and class act. Still have those grand mama shoes as well...

  • why did LJ play only one more season after this one?? he suddenly retired from the nba n i still remember how fuckin sad i was when he left

  • he said he retired because of his back problems which were affecting his game

  • I fucking hate Thomas he ruined the knicks and all the garbage players they picked up..... they need to get OJ mayo in the draft if hes still around

  • Where did that come from

  • back when the knicks were real men. LJ, oak, mase, starks and ewing should slap the shit out of the current knicks for disgracing the uniform. makes me so sad. :(

  • possibly the sweetest crowd reaction in sports history

  • that is pure legendary basketball.

  • man i miss those days

  • these were my greatest monment of my life

  • me 2 man i loved those days

  • LJ MY ALL TIME FAV!GO REBELS!!!

  • The corporate hacks who have raped the Knicks franchise need to be fired. Seeing where we were and where we are makes a moment as sweet as this bitter, and that should never be the case.

  • I love the Knicks more than anybody, and I'm say that winning this game means more than losing to the Spurs.

  • 1999 knick roster, d best for me.. allan houston, latrell and marcus.. wow!

  • fuck Sean Elliot!

    NY love. LJ love.

    Go NY Go NY Go!

  • LJ's 4 Point Play and Sean Elliot's Memorial Day Miracle.....by far my two favorite memories of '99!

    GO SPURS GO!

  • the single greatest play i have witnessed in my life. ive only watched pro ball since 97, but that was amazing

  • how is the most improbable play ever.. number 14 lol

  • That is ranked no 14 in MSG history, other sports such as boxing are included in the ranking. Not to mention other events as well.
