amazing dog, you gotta make a video of how you trained your dog. I have a schnauzer too, she is 3 months old and i am still trying to get her to sit but she just sits there and doesn't do anything even when i show her treats or toys. She just looks at me and kinda sniffs the treat. What kind of treats did you use?

Hello there, you can start teaching your puppy tricks as early as you like but it'd be best if you start with Basic Obedience comments first! I'd put up a video of how to teach some of the tricks someday when I'm free~~~ Thank you for liking Mini!

Hello~~ Did you get your Schnauzer puppy yet? I would not recommend getting a puppy from a pet store because a lot of them are from puppy mills (no offense to anyone!). Mini was from a pet store and I knew nothing about dogs before I got Mini (my first pup). He was very sick within the 3rd day I got him and he had to be hospitalized. =(

We got him from a breeder - don't worry! Many are uneducated about puppy mills, so I'm pretty sure no one would hold it against you. Mini is obviously a very clever chap despite his start in life - you obviously adore him! I can't wait for Freddy to be as good as Mini!

Easy! you may try to practice this in a corridor or you can fence a narrow area. Have your dog facing towards you, then start to walk towards him. As he walks backwards, say the cue word (in this case I used "back-up") or click on the clicker and treat your dog. Your dog will associate your moving steps together with your cue word to the movement "backing up". Hope this helps!

That's a great video. I wish our Miniature Schnauzer could do those tricks but she can be very stubborn. Although she does talk and bark, roll over and shake hands so I guess it's good enough for her. She'll be 8 years old at the end of this month. Also what's the name of the nusic there?

Wow, that was really nice. I just got a puppy who is only a few weeks old and he doesn't do any tricks yet. I'm planning on training him to do some really cool tricks, but he is my first dog and I have no experience in training. Got any advice?

Sorry for my late response. My advice would be...be CONSISTANT (let's say you choose the word command "DOWN", don't use "LAY DOWN" at times; and once you set the rules, stick with it) and use Positive reenforcement~~

Thank you so much! That is the greatest compliment! :) The key to training any dog is to be consistance. Because Mini is very food motivtive (and he learns VERY fast), it's pretty easy to teach him new things/tricks. Mini learns the best by food luring.
