  • Thank you SOOO much for this video. I can't tell you how much it has helped me!

  • Why do you use water soluble pastel and not immediately the acrilic one?

  • @cadeilsasso I like the effects of combining watersoluble wax pastels with white acrylics, and use this as a personal preference when working on watercolour paper. The white acrylic adds a nice creaminess to skin tones. I prefer using acrylics only when working on canvas. But it's really just personal preference.

  • wat kind of paint sticks r they

  • @ronegloria I used Caran D'Ache Neo Color II Water soluble wax pastels for this project :-) Hugs, Rach

  • OMG! Are you selling your work?

  • @gontisha Hi, I'm not selling my work at the moment, though maybe one day in the future, Hugs, Rachel

  • Hi Rachel

I did make a comment but for some reason it isn't showing! So here goes again LOL. I am trying this picture myself after seeing your wonderful work on it :) Only mine isn't as good ha ha ha. I've seen a number of paintings of this style and I have to say that I was too scared to try one. But after seeing the video you've just made, its encouraged me to have a go my friend. So for that, I am truely thankful to you for giving me the push!!! lol Fabulous work as usual Rachel tfs xx

  • Beautiful!! I loved to see this 'happening'! It's like magic...

    Thank you Rachel!

    Loes

  • beautiful!

Did you let it dry in between before add more color to the painted layers? You make it look so easy.

  • @bethlehem79 Hi, no I didn't really let it dry as the colours needed to be damp in order to blend. The only place that needs to be dry really is when doing the eyes, so normally I would wait a little longer than you see, but the vid shows just as I painted it without edits, just sped up.

  • You are GOOD, WOW!!!

  • This is GREAT!!!

  • Truly Lovely!!:) Thank U For Sharing...

  • Oh My! That looks like so much fun! How would I attempt to do something like this without any background in art? Is there some kind of book? I want to have fun like this too! Thank you for the video, it has already taught me a lot. Janet =D

  • @nanajl54 I don't have an art background either - I just watched you tube vids on a style I like, and practiced. Give it a go, it really is a lot of fun!

  • Love love love it.

  • Love love love it.

  • your fun to watch girl! self portrait?

  • Wow thank you for sharing.

Can I ask you some questions about the way you made it? If so I just dive in:

    - did you use some medium in the white acrylic paint to prevent it from drying too soon?

    - did you use a canvas or watercolour paper?

    - did you let the watercolored part on the canvas/paper dry when you applied the acrylic paint and vice versa when you used the white acrylic?

    - would it at all be possible for you to put in some text every now and then?

    Thank you very much!!

  • @haajeem Hi, Thanks for your questions. I didn't use any kind of medium or extender with the acrylic, but I have a wet brush for some of the blending. The painting is on watercolur paper (I have added some annotations, and will put further ones when I get home from work). I didn't really allow drying time as I was blending colours, and it helps if they are a little damp. hope that helps. Hugs, Rachel

  • @RachO113
