I have a dress that has a zipper in the back the goes down past the bodice part that would make it very difficult to detach the skirt and bodice. Can I make the romper with out detaching somehow? It would make an adorable romper and I never use it as a dress!

YOU DON'T NEED TO DE-TATCH THE BODICE AND SKIRT ! just make sure when you go to draw the curve and stuff, just make it fall flat sideways ? if that makes sense.

It's really cute...and gelato is so sweet. But I am not a skilled sew'er and it seems to me that....can't you just cut into the skirt folded that curve without removing it from the bodice. It seems to be going from A-Z when all you need to do is get from A-B????

@hipretty no it will look funny at the crotch..because you are not 2dimensionial. that little curve gives it dimension..now if u don't take off the bodice and try to make that the little curve then u will end up with a dart..that points to "look at my crotch". I thought the same too thing too..but I guess there is a reason for everything ey?

I once did the opposite of this - turning a romper into a dress. Of course, now that rompers are actually IN style I'm kind of kicking myself for making the transition. I might convert it back into a romper, though. XD

I love your tutorials, they are original and easy to follow, but people with Mediterranean bodies should be warned to be sure to make the back crotch longer than the front, otherwise it will be very uncomfortable...
