This is in response to patriveg, whatever name you call this kind of voice, counter tenor, falsetto, drag as you call it , it is still one of the best kind of human voice that can interpret musical pieces in the highest level. Bravo to this person who can interpret music from his vocal instrument that only few can offer. Magnificient vocals that sounded like angel in heaven and may his tribe increase.

While Handel feels as though he's dialing it in on this one (so similar to many of his other sarabandes) Jaroussky is just a marvel. After hearing him it is so hard to listen to other counter tenors. He's faboulous.

@Kavafy I have known Russell Oberline personally for 40 years. He is a genuine human being. There is nothing artificial about him. As for the falsettos being 'worse' - I simply don't like the sound of anything artificial. Falsetto does not sound natural to my ear, true countertenor does.
His phrasing is impeccable only seconded by his intonation and ability to communicate the text without the beauty of his sound getting in his way. Bravo.

Wouldn't go as far as saying Freddy was a countertenor. He just touched upon falsetto more often than others. Freddy mostly sang in modal voice. Capable?, I'm sure but I don't think he was one in practice.

Hes good, but Vitas isa much better singer by far. Vitas makes him looks like a rookie. Vitas voice is one of a kind and noone can ever match his singing voice. Vitas best songsare dedication, and smile.
I'm a huge fan of both but Vitas could never hope to have as much technical skill and precision as Jaroussky. Based on the songs you listed as his best I'd say the only characteristic you're making judgments on is how high each sings considering dedication is a pretty dull and repetitive song other than the one badass high part where Vitas hits an Eb. They're both great in their own respects. Broaden a bit and learn to appreciate on a deeper level : )
Hes good, but vitas is a much better singer then him. Vitas makes any singer in the world seems like a rookie. When you first listen to vitas no matter wat language u speak, your really gonna be blown away. Vitas best two songs are dedication and opera 2. Vitas is by far the best singer in the world and this year hell open more american eyes to his brilliant singing.
I agree too. Vitas is lame pop with no technique and no soul. Jaroussky has not only an extraordinary voice but also a strong sensibility. There is no comparison.

I saw him today (19 july) in Angra do heroísmo (azores) with his ensemble and i tell you one thing:WONDERFUL!! he had return to the stage (a church) several times after the end because the audience do not stop clapping for more!!

Wouldn't go as far as saying Freddy was a countertenor. He just touched upon falsetto more often than others. Freddy mostly sang in modal voice. Capable?, I'm sure but I don't think he was one in practice.

knink, I cant understand why you even compare Vistas and Phillipe, their voices are not even sung in the same key, maybe you just think Vistas is better looking, I personaly would kill you for his voice

Hes good, but Vitas isa much better singer by far. Vitas makes him looks like a rookie. Vitas voice is one of a kind and noone can ever match his singing voice. Vitas best songsare dedication, and smile.

I'm a huge fan of both but Vitas could never hope to have as much technical skill and precision as Jaroussky. Based on the songs you listed as his best I'd say the only characteristic you're making judgments on is how high each sings considering dedication is a pretty dull and repetitive song other than the one badass high part where Vitas hits an Eb. They're both great in their own respects. Broaden a bit and learn to appreciate on a deeper level : )

Hes good, but vitas is a much better singer then him. Vitas makes any singer in the world seems like a rookie. When you first listen to vitas no matter wat language u speak, your really gonna be blown away. Vitas best two songs are dedication and opera 2. Vitas is by far the best singer in the world and this year hell open more american eyes to his brilliant singing.

I agree too. Vitas is lame pop with no technique and no soul. Jaroussky has not only an extraordinary voice but also a strong sensibility. There is no comparison.

On ne compare pas Jaroussky et Vitas, ce n'est pas possible; Vitas c'est de la pop musique. Jaroussky dit en effet que les voix hautes sont à la mode dans la pop.

@knink24 Don't compare them, it's stupid, Vitas is great and Philippe it's great too. They're two differents singers, I love Vitas's voice and color, and i love Phil's voice and color, they're both my idols, and that's all that matters, they both are great.

I saw him today (19 july) in Angra do heroísmo (azores) with his ensemble and i tell you one thing:WONDERFUL!! he had return to the stage (a church) several times after the end because the audience do not stop clapping for more!!
