  • Scott was suprisingly classy in his response. I'll bet that whatever Cameron said was much less classy.

  • @GavinJ37 Snob

  • @Caesarslegion1 Thats Mr Snob to you buddy boy

  • "Alien vs Predator?" Hmmmm...sounds like another annoying JJ Abrams brainstorm.

  • He wants two say the two AVP films are shit , but we all no that any ways

  • Who givs a fuk bout fuking spelling!?! and that was deliberate lol. Im just a fan of this series, especially Ridley Scott, and Im expressing how I feel bout the films, so what bout my spelling?? Is it that every FAN OF RIDLEY SCOTT AND "ALIEN" IS A OXFORD GRADUATE!?!?!!?? LOL. No offense intended there, its just people tend to ramble on bout this all too much instead of the actual subject!

  • some of u cunts cant even spell ,and your watching space films??? "Gud1" u fucking morons.

  • I just want to say AvP films cud hav been so much more, cus the comics do quite a gud job of exploring the whole universe and do kinda go quite deep even in2 the Jockeys and all that. I think AvP1 wasnt too bad, the Strauses messed up AvPR by just aiming purely at kids. 2nd film shud hav been pretty much a complete silent film, simply about the PredAlien, hunting the crew of Predators, much like the original Alien film, so now wud hav had a superior "Alien" hybrid hunting another team of Aliens.

  • @RaikenXion go back to english class u fool, your a disgrace to your generation.

  • @MrCuntface1 Im not even gonna Insult you here, I'll explain again. I cut short my words to fit everything I gotta say in a comment, hey! Im a guy who has alot to say on this. Plz debate with me on this subject instead of trying to divert rambling on bout a person's comments. Listen if YOU r even replying to me shows, everything Ive sed has made You think, only You dont know how to come bk with a decent argument so u divert onto the whole "Spelling" Issue lol :)))

  • Alien - A+

    Aliens - A+

    Alien 3 - D

    Alien Resurrection - F

    AVP - F

    AVP Reqeum - F-

AVP and AVPR are fun action movies but not real works of art or anything.

  • I think Cameron made a great film in Aliens it's the rest I was disappointed in

If im honest though Alien and Aliens are both in the same universe and have 3 characters in common in Ripley, the alien and the company I truly see both films as seperate entitys from eachother as when I see prometheus my thoughts and views on aliens will not come into play

  • Scott said everything with his phrasing. 'If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.' That's what he inferred.

  • Imagine a beautiful, amazing statue that you've put all your love, labour and passion into sculpting. You consider it one of your life's great works, possibly your masterpiece. It is hugely influential and a testament to your ability.

Now imagine a five year old behind the wheel of a hv, who can't even see where he's going, who crashes into your statue, breaking it into a million pieces.

That's what Ridley feels about AVP. Even Cameron took a massive shit on the ideas and concept Scott created

  • @smoothcriminal7033 Wtf? Cameron took a shit on Scott's ideas? That's just your opinion. Scott actually hailed Cameron's vision in Aliens.

  • @CaffeinatedAnonymous Hence why him and Cameron were hammering out ideas for a Alien 5 that would of went into the origin of the Space Jockey and the Alien's Home Planet. But yall know this......

  • @CaffeinatedAnonymous Ridley left the "main attraction" there (all those eggs), and every directors played with that Idea, but None of them took notice of the "Bigger Picture" in the Space Jockey lol. Now that the main attraction as in the Xenos has been milked to its fullest and totally exhausted. The one man who started it all off has returned to bring his masterpiece full circle with Prometheus.

  • aliens and predators together belong in comic books, in movies they just dont work well together, we need a new alien movie more like the original, a horror to show all the shity teeny horrors these days how it is done. COMEON RIDLEY PWEEEAAASSEE!

  • Comment removed

  • @spacecoke You're right. When the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out in the late 80s early 90s I was an ALIENS VS PREDATOR Comic fan. People complained the TMNT live action film didn't work due to missing out Krang and his Technodrome. Of course that was due to budget constraints.

The same goes for AVP as a film. In comics and games you can go wild with the setting and action. In a film you need themes and a reason for ALIENS/PREDATORS to be on screen. The Comics never answered this

  • Ridley Scott had the worst end of the Alien deal he had to watch James Cameron make a better movie and then watch Alien 3-AVPR...kinda feel sorry for the guy

  • What did he say?

  • @85dodgeroyal are you asking what Ridley Scott said?

Dork in Starbucks T-shirt- "I have a question to ask. As an Alien fan I have to ask what you thought of Alien Vs Predator"

Ridley Scott- "Umm I have to be very careful what I say; as I have a very nice arrangment with 20th Century Fox. I think they know how I feel"

  • @MrBOPESquad2 I understood the Starbucks guy, but not Mr. Scott. Thank you.

  • Alien 1+2 were legendary films, 3 was decent, predator1 is a classic. All the rest of the A and P films are shite, with the exception of a few brief moments like that first encounter between the alien and predator when they finally fight, it was pretty epic. Oh, and when that colombian chic is riding a guy in pred2.

  • cash cow

  • Ridley Scott is a hypocrite. Apart from Blade Runner* (*although personally I think that film is a boring, overated "classic" along with with 2001- Space Oddessy) and the original Alien 1979 his films suck. Legend (a god awful fantasy film starring Tom Cruise 1985) GI Jane (1997) Hannibal (2001) aka 3rd Silence of the Lambs Film, Kingdom of Heaven, Thelma and Louise, and more recently Robin Hood (Russell Crowe) ALL critical flops.

Alien Vs Predator will beat the Alien Prequels- I promise.

  • @MrBOPESquad2 You must be joking! Scott is one of the Greatest movie makers of all time! To mention Alien vs Predator in the same sentence as one of Ridley Scott's creations is an insult! ALL copies of AvP and Requiem should be burned!!

  • @MrBOPESquad2

What about Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, American Gangster?

  • Well in my opinion the seires died when alien 3 was really created. I say that because there is a trilogy book called Alien: Earth Hive and it was originally about Hicks and Newt and how they survive and try to hunt the aliens after they landed on earth but fox changed the characters after Alien 3.

  • @yourbestally To be honest Alien 3 has really grown on me over the years, the assembly is even better.. I've read the Trilogy- Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum and The Female War.. they are brilliant and would have made fantastic sequels... Shame Fox didnt think of using them!

  • @smashingmartian exactly! they should have reconized them. But what makes you like Alien 3 now?

And can't wait to have Prometheus to come out... seems like a good idea from what I have read so far...

  • @yourbestally Initially i was really dissapointed with Alien 3, mostly because it wasnt the rollercoaster ride of Aliens. Also the fact they killed off Hicks and Newt, but the more i watched it over the years i realised how good it really was. As you probably know David Fincher was constantly harrassed by Fox when making the film..firstly there was no script, then the script was changed over and over again! ok there are flaws in the film but i think it is a worthy addition to the series...

  • @yourbestally Have you seen the Assembly cut of the movie? On the new Blu-ray Anthology set, all the deleted scenes are back in, and it makes the story so much better. They even brought back some of the actors back to re-do some of the dialogue for the restored scenes.. If you havent seen it then i'd recommend you give it another chance.. Yes i cant wait to see Prometheus!!

  • @smashingmartian I have not. I can't really get the blu-ray versions yet because no blu-ray player lol. But I will see if I can get a rip copy of it and try to watch that then. What is really different with the deleted scenes added on?

  • @yourbestally In The original release the prisoner called Golic (Played by Paul McGann) just dissapears! you dont see him die or anything, he just isnt in the film anymore! But in a newly re-added middle section, when the prisoners actually capture the Alien in a waste container, it shows Golic's involvement. All through the film there are added scenes and dialogue that just make it so much better.

  • @smashingmartian I have the comic book versions of those stories. The problem is you'd need a big budget of at least $200-$250 Million to capture the "swarm CGI" shots, build convincing futuristic sets and the expanded Aliens universe.

Whilst big budget blockbusters with $200 Million budgets are the norm these days they are aimed at family friendly PG-13- 12a ratings. I doubt you'd see much return for an R Rated Film. Cases in point.

Watchmen $130 Million Budget $180 Million Return

  • @MrBOPESquad2

Starship troopers $100 Million Budget $120 Million return.

Whilst AVATAR was £237 Million BUT had a 2 BILLION, 783 MILLION Box Office return!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrBOPESquad2 I think you're probably right there mate, the big movie companies are more intrested in how many Action Figures they can sell, or if they can stick their toys in a Happy meal! Its a shame because we may never see another truly Epic Sci-Fi/Horror movie again! Unless, as you say, it is toned down and aimed at a family Audience. As far as the Alien Franchise goes, I think alot will depend on how well Ridley Scott's Prometheus fares at the box office..Also, will it be R rated or PG13?

  • @smashingmartian the studio wants a PG-13 rating to justify filming in 3-D- whilst Ridley wants a more intense R-Rating. Although filming is currently in production plot details and what exactly are in the film is unknown.

Apparently they are still discussing whether this is a film in the "Alien" Universe or whether it'll be something completely different. There was rumours of s Space Jockey/Alien hybrid- but thats speculation and Ridley is tight lipped.

BUT don't expect any "Alien" killing

  • @MrBOPESquad2 in fact don't expect the appearence of any HR Giger "Aliens" at all.

  • Fox hav in a way wrecked both franchises, but we hav2 remember Fox/Hollywood only care bout keeping sumthin fresh 2 make money. Thats y they merged the two franchises after Alien3 cus they thought there wud b nuthing else 2 do with the seires after the main heroine of the films was killed off. These execs at Hollywood, mostly dont know nuthin bout movies, and arnt interested in them really, they only care about wot Idea will sell, "Money, Money, Money!" Is all they think bout.

  • that piece of shit single handedly ruined 2 of the greatest movie franchises ever.

  • Why Fox didnt persuade either Ridley Scott or James Cameron to revisit the franchise sooner amazes me! Scott had said for years that he would like to go back and maybe visit the aliens homeworld, so why has it took so long? Even Cameron is not averse to doing the odd sequel(T2 Judgement Day). Instead Fox went on to destroy David Finchers vision for Alien 3, then thought "oops! we've fucked up!, we better clone Ripley" Then to create the abortions that are AvP and Requiem!... Shame on you!

  • @smashingmartian

Funny you should ask that...Fox had the choice of either producing Alien vs. Predator or another Alien project written by Cameron and Directed by Scott and they chose the first option...that alone bugged me for the longest time.

  • @mavenous22 Well hearing that makes me even more pissed off at Fox! Dont get me wrong Alien 3 has grown on me over the years, in fact with the deleted scenes now put back in, the new version is a great movie. It just could have been SO much better! It always did my head in how they showed total disregard for the story and characters from Aliens.. After the insult of AvP i suspect we've sadly seen the last of Cameron's involvement in the Franchise..

  • @smashingmartian But remember as gud as Alien3 is and I do like that particular sequel, cus it did its own thing, never copied wot had came b4, and ultimately attempted 2 finally kill off the Ripley character enabling the series 2 move on in other directions. But at the same time, each director of these films has out-done the previous 1s work, Cameron did it 2 Ridley with Aliens, and Fincher did it 2 Cameron, then Besson did it 2 Fincher lol. Remember Hollywood only care bout money.

  • @RaikenXion True, but killing off Ripley 2 take it in another direction was soon forgotten when they cloned her! Weaver is also 2 blame cos she'd only do the film if they killed her off, only to return when Fox flashed the cash.I'd agree that Cameron managed to out-do Scott with Aliens but in my opinion since then, the sequels have failed to match up(no blame to Fincher)It was Jean Pierre Junet not Besson who made Resurrection, but no matter, cos niether could have rescued Joss Whedon's shit story!

  • @smashingmartian I always thought it was Besson, cus it actually felt like his style lol. I thought Alien3 was actually quite gud cus it chose not 2 copy the previous works but did its own thing, even tried 2 get that suspense feel bk that Alien1 had, as well as allowing room 4 new things 2b done in the series with Riplley's character gone. Yes I always felt they shud hav never bought her bk, its like the Terminator series ever1 thinks the story evolves rnd Arnie's Cyborg lol.

  • @smashingmartian I do think Alien4 opened up a lot of things bringing bk Ripley, and they cud hav built on that, making her join the Xenos, after centuries fighting them, loosing everything she ever luvd 2 them, made sense that in the end, they wud become her family. In that film already c early signs that she is kinda half like them, having got their DNA, and carried the queen. They shud hav built on that more and made her join them, and totally giving up on humans, wud hav been interesting.

  • @RaikenXion when i watched Alien 3 the 1st time, i was so dissapointed. This was due to the fact that Aliens was so Great, but after watching it more and more i came to really appreciate it, as ive said before, the un-cut version is a Great film. When Resurrection was due for release i was so excited, i just wanted Ripley back and things put right again(i didnt care how!)... Cloning? ok that will do fine! But it was just so corney, very dissapointing!!

  • @smashingmartian 4 me, I actually didnt want Ripley bk. Its like wot I sed with the Terminator Trilogy, the story is waay bigger than just Arnies T800 model. But ofcourse he made that role so Iconic that he will always b remembered for that. But in essence of the story, the T800 model is just a very reliable cyborg, in that it can take a lot of damage and keep going, also it was one of the most susceptible cyborg models 2 b reprogrammed, which was y the resistance used them so much lol.

  • @smashingmartian Its wen stars start out in a movie series and both in-turn get really big, we get used 2 them. But like with the Alien seires, I think its got 2 the point we dont actually need Ripley in every film, it doesnt hav2 b just about her, thats y I always appreciated Alien3 cus It tried 2 kill her off properly, and pathed the way 4 new Ideas 2b done, and take the series in a new direction. Only ashame Hollywood just thought of the typical cash cow, as always.

  • @smashingmartian Its like them bringing Harry Potter bk in say the next 5 yrs in another sequel, as much as all the fans luv him, u just dont need him bk again, hes had his story now. U hav2 let things go after awhile otherwise its just gets the same old, and this was where Alien4 messed up. I didnt mind them bringing her bk, but I wanted 2 feel that shes ultimately moved on, theres no-one who matters 2 her now except the Xenos, they r her children, her family now.

  • @smashingmartian But the director chose not 2 build on all that, instead just made the usual, people getting killed by Xenos, and some hav2 escape. Wen she fell in that nest, Ripley shud hav chose 2 ultimately join them there and then. It wud hav been a whole new thing, and wud hav been alot more appreciated by fans. Like the Ultimate Betrayal by Anakin 2 the Jedi. Alien4 makes me think Y the hell wud Ripley hang on2 a shred of humanity wen theres nuthing left 4 her!? It was stupid, pointless.

  • @RaikenXion Exactly, you're spot on! At the time i was excited that Ripley was coming back, but they didn't justify her return by making a great movie, the opportunity was wasted! Therefor looking back over the series, her involvement should have ended in Alien 3, I think that ending to Ripley's story was a lot more fitting. Instead of the confused clone she went on to play..Unfortunately as i said earlier, between Fox ,Weaver and a dodgy script, they managed to ruin the series.

  • @smashingmartian Yeh thats indeed wot they did. Most people moan that AvP ruined the series but Ive always felt it was first Alien4. Hell they might as well hav made Ripley join the Xenos, find a hidden temple/hunting ground on the now ruined Earth, awaken the queen, unleashed loads of eggs, breed a few 100 pockets of survivors left on the planet. Same time the military bring in the colonial marines, wake up Dutch from a 100+ yr cryo 2 lead them, and make em all hav one big massive war lol.

  • @RaikenXion LOL.. Hey that sounds like a good script to me! Dutch's Marines vs Ripley's Xenos! Yeah forget AvP its now DM v RX...LOL...The winner gets to take on that Dodgy Pred-Alien.. Couldnt be any worse than what has followed Alien 3!.... Hope Fox don't read this, they might actually make it!

  • @smashingmartian I know, I wudnt b surprised lol. Hopefully Ridley Scott will take this series in a much needed, new direction now. Im looking forward 2 Prometheus.

  • avp1 totaly ok avp 2 fucking bs

  • AKA: I hate them, but I can't say it publicly otherwise fox will cut my funding for Prometheus.

  • @jiggles11

I know, the AvP games are far superior to the movies, but at that point movies gave a more cinematic experience. Now thats not really the case

  • Hey I liked AVP and AVP:R.

  • About the only thing worse than AVP was Freddy vs Jason

  • AVP2 was the original storyline to Alien 5 if I remember right! ripley battling Aliens on earth etc! some dork must have picked up that idea and changed it to human morons vs Aliens on earth in a small town, present day?? damn!! seriously! if I directed AVP2! I would have had it set in the future!!! alien meets bladerunner!! way more interesting idea

  • Alien Vs Predator was a harmless popsorn flick, Both series could have happened with or without it, plus it was just cool to see the two fight no matter how stupid.

Alien Vs Predator 2.......not much to redeem.......Predalien was a cool Idea but poorly designed and executed......yeah.....

  • avp 1 wasn't bad,but it doesnt come close to being as good as the first 2 alien movies or the 1st predator

  • The AvP movies should have been set in space, like the games, have the colonial marines fighting predators and aliens.

Not that Earth modern day bullshit.

  • @Biankito Word. AvP2 seemed like a teen drama/slasher with Aliens and Predators.

  • @killabunny78 How the hell are those your favorite movies? Have you seen any other movies?

  • "they know how I feel"

    Give em hell, Ridley!

  • Why couldnt they keep the AVP films just like the games?

The film would of actually been alright if it stuck to those.

  • @dEsSiCaTa because if they did at least some groups of people wouldve had to like it. :D

  • Of course he dislikes them. He got to watch his franchise get ruined.

  • @juresaiyan I think Ridley doesnt even favor any of the Alien sequels anyway lol. Aliens a classic I will say went in a complete different direction and gav us a over-load of action. Its a masterpiece yes, but Ridley set out much like Carpenter, Spielberg, and many other Innovative directors of that time, 2 make sumthin totally different and just generally scare the crap out of people lol. It was only inevitable that many others wud take that original work, and do their own thing with it.

  • @juresaiyan james cameron hated it too lol

  • Ridley Scott lied to us, we're not getting an Alien Prequel

  • @TheCosmicFireStar We kind of are, but we kind of aren't, supposedly The Space Jockey and Xenomorphs will have a cameo in the "Prometheus" (the movie that came from Alien prequel ideas), so it will be set in the same universe as Alien but won't be a direct prequel.

  • @TheCosmicFireStar The Space jockeys have more than a cameo, the whole movie is supposed to be about them!

And the Aliens are supposedly an important part of the story as one of their creations, although they are being redesigned (possibly different because they burst from Space Jockeys this time?) and the movie is about much more than them. The official synopsis sounds way more epic and ambitious than any other Alien movie

  • @eirikwegga

Well I hope that Prometheus keeps the Xenomorphs and Spacejokeys because it'd be such a waste not to have them.

  • @TheCosmicFireStar There is a lot we don't know about this movie yet, but this is some of the info that has been established through interviews etc:

An archaeological dig uncovers ancient remains of an alien race, in Africa iirc, and they send a space crew on a ship called Prometheus to find these aliens. Due to their advanced technology they are an almost god-like race who use bio tech to create life on uninhabited planets, like earth. These are the so-called Space Jockeys.

  • @eirikwegga This info is months old but I read that Scott had decided to throw out any connection with Alien except as an inspiration and tell a different story. Anyway I always liked that the Space Jockey was a mystery.

  • @squamish4244 That's what it seemed like, but it turns out it was a carefully worded bit of misdirection to prepare people for something different. It's not a traditional Alien movie and won't feature them as we know them.

It's been confirmed by many different people that it's set in the Alien universe, most recently Damon Lindelof in a lenghty discussion with Kevin Pollak about their approach

  • he should have just stand up and yell: IT SUCKED! ! ! What do you think?

  • why is everyone hating on AVP? i thought it was a good movie! it's better than stupid Avatar with all that stupid annoying characters. I just personally wanted to blast that whiney ugly tree hugging blue girl! I was wondering what all the ppl were hooting and howling about avatar being spectacular. when i watched it, it did nothing for me and i couldn't finish watchg it.

  • @bibi14930 you thought it was a "good" movie? it turned gigers mysterious and deadly creation into a typical watered down sellout monster movie of the week p.o.s and it will never be accepted by the alien fanbase, dont even get me started on its sequel

  • @TheAntman2006 i think NO ONE thinks avp 2 is a movie which you should waste a thought of. its even dimensions worse than the 1st one in my opinion, because the forst one had at least some bits of that well known darkness = bad feeling. [of course it's not compareable with alien (the first original one), but it's still better than avp 2, because avp 2 didn't scare me a moment]

  • @EatAchi avp2 makes avp1 seem almost watchable thats my opinion

  • @TheAntman2006 yeah everyone has his own opinion ;)

but the end of avp 2 is more hilarious and stupid if you ask me

  • They could keep the strong main female character by having a Predator vs Wonder Woman movie. The Predators would love to hunt amazons, or vise verse.

  • HERE IS WHAT WOULD BE REALLY INTERESTING. To see the alien PLANET. And to know more about the space Jockey. I always thought the Space Jockey was really interesting. It shows that it`s more to explore. And get a great actor like Christian Bale in it.

  • New Story Line (PART 2) for James Cameron's AVP (ALIENS VS. PREDATORS - Home Worlds in 3D):

PART II: The Predators are ready to launch a massive Invasion on the Aliens HomeWorld after learning of a Holographic projection of 3 raiding parties(3 Pods) sent down for the Hunt...They Never Heard Back...?? Due to the Aliens Atmospheric Pressure and Climate Conditions...the 3 Predators find themselves in for a surprise, a Breeding Ground Deep within the Earth's Core...Are these Predators ready for.??

  • @Premium97 Don't be be an Avafag

  • @Premium97 Face it, IT'S OVER!

  • New Story for James Cameron's AVP (ALIENS VS. PREDATORS in 3D):

The Year is 2032: Weyland Corp's New technology advances on the Aliens HomeWorld, Satelite imagery picks up the Heat signatures of the several Alien Queens. Weyland Corp sends out the Nostromo Crew with an Advanced Bishop accompanied by Ripley to seek out and wipe out the Entire Colony. Not Only does Lt. Ripley and her crew encounter a massive breeding grounds...They Encounter The Predators...

  • @Premium97 Stop it

  • Love Ridley Scott,Alien and Blade Runner are two of my favourite movies, but his recent films like Robin Hood and American Gangster havent exactly been classics, although i know the man hasnt done Sci Fi since Blade Runner.i dont think an Alien prequel is neccesary and if it focuses on the space jockeys, why destroy the mystery? still if anyone had to make it im glad its Scott. Also ive heard its gonna be PG13 i have no idea if thats true,im pretty sceptical of the whole thing, just leave Alien be.

  • I was slightly disappointed with AVP, particularly because I loved the comics and a movie had so much potential, but I did enjoy watching it.

And on a humorous note, it came out right around my birthday, but right after seeing it, I got sick, and with a fever of 105 degrees, I was hallucinating predators in my room. What were they doing there...? Why, listening to Motley Crue songs of course! (They REALLY like Live Wire.)

  • avp was cool, nothing more. avp2 was stupid and a failure. both destroyed the franchises. i want alien again!!!

  • there are worse movies than Alien vs Predator,

Alien vs Predator 2 for example ;-)

  • @deedia or Alien: Resurrection, god that movie was horrible

  • I'm going to go out on a limb and say William Gibson's Alien 3 Script would have blown Aliens away. Seriously. They should have used that script. I mean it was The Thing meets Alien with Colonial Marines. Plus.....Alien 3 could have been a sequel if the movie bombed. So win win situation.

  • @CassDaMan1138 I've read it and I can safely say it would not have. It was cumbersome, awkward and had too many factions, many of whom never actually did anything. I love William Gibson but he cannot write scripts, which is understandable considering how little dialogue is in his novels.

  • what did he say?

  • Bringing Scott back will hopefully have two HUGE benefits:

    1) It will be proof both franchises have finally gone back to being separate series as they should have been all along

    2) Hopefully it will decrease the amount of CGI for it. Scott uses that a bit, but he recognizes it's flaws and it may allow the Aliens to have a more realistic look again

Seriously the Predator made a SPEAR AND SHIELD out of an Alien! It couldn't be more idiotic! Let's not even go into detail about the sequel >:(

  • avp movies are good and great. the fact that any alien movies have been made lately makes any movie with aliens a good thing.

  • @sakkurae stfu

  • @grogson U SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU ALIENS GENRE HATER NOOB GAYAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Sarge - AVp is junk, we all know it, now go away and do your homework.

  • see i liked avp but then i saw avpr and just said what the fuck is this shit o killing pregnant women and babies via predalien with an obnoxiously large head they should of made the second one in space in the future or something but nope lets go with colorado i live in colorado that is not how shit would have went everyone owns guns out here and are paranoid, stupid, crazy, normal, or high off of some substance and would have beat that big headed fuckers ass down

  • AVP was a crappy film, but it was kinda fun. REALLY stpid and it didnt even come CLOSE to living up to the source material (comics and films). it didnt do the franchises justice and i wouldnt recommend it over the original Alien or Aliens or Predator, but i thought that it was harmless enough... the action was pretty decent and it was the cinematic equivelant of banging holes in a wall with a hammer; it'll keep you entertained for a bit, but theres far better things you could be doing

  • AVP is a great movie. I fully respect it. The fight scenes between the aliens and the predators were simply epic.

But I do feel as though it very much wrecked the feel that Alien had established. It largely took away the elegance, and the stealth of the aliens, and it betrayed the original suspense by using gore and intense action to entertain fans.

I did like the movie, but I will always view it as a fan fiction, more than a canon sort of thing. On this, Ridley Scott and I would likely agree.

  • AVP movies are FUCKING RETARDED --- that's what Ridley Scott wanted to say

  • AvP works, if its outworld like in the comic books, not this crap about bringing them to earth...

  • They should ignore the fact that the 2 avp films were ever made and put some proper money into making a new one set on the alien homeworld with predators and marines fighting alongside each other that would be a good movie.

  • lol, mr scott is a great sport and very intelligent.

  • God, AVP sucked. insult to a great series (Alien) and a good series (Predator). Peice of crap. Hell, I didn't even like Aliens (I like all the other ones) but thats a masterpeice compared to AVP.

whats even more annoying is when people think that the alien creatures are actually from AVP. I'll like be drawing one or something and they'll be like "oh thats an alien from AVP!" and I'll be like "no its not!"

  • @MythicDude come on predator was not a piece of crap it was good and any predator or alien film desimates the avp movie cause that movie was an abomination. I walked out and demanded a damn refund ofcourse it was a bullshit excuse the guy a couple of seats down wouldn't shut the hell up so I got to see another movie instead of avp

  • @Virgil1014 dude, I never said Predator was a peice of crap. I just don't think its as good as the Alien series, mainly due to differences in acting, screenplay and desgin. but yeh, both Alien series and Predator series own AVP.

AVP is a tottal insult to both series

  • @MythicDude sorry I didn't see the period after the (Predator) yeah the alien series is better but the predator series was good well part 2 was questionable. Arnold was hilarious in predator but also cool I like the part where he sticks one guy to a pole with his combat knife and then the arnold catch fraise "stick around" LOL

  • @MythicDude OMFG SAME! I FUCKIN HATE THAT SHIT! Then.....A few moments later I have the same Alien I was drawing shooting his Jack hammer tongue thru the guy's well detailed head then I gave him the picture and wrote captions saying Hey this thing is from-AV (Headbite) Then I have the Alien in the next panel saying God.....What the fuck happened to this world.

  • In my humble opinion (dont flame please) my personal favourites are Alien, Aliens and Alien Resurrection. Why A4R? Well, Ripleys back (i saw the directors cut 2005 edition, badass) and I like my theory on the origins of the newborn. Only thing that disturbs me at A4R is the newborn death scene, was a bit too much, but its potential as an infant, whoa. Can't wait for A5 ^^

AVP & AVPR are probably the most retarded movies ever made. Kids like you are too addicted to CGI. The Alien saga starts with Alien and ends with Resurrection. So shutup and go fuck with your predators. Alien forever.

  • u got that right but after aliens is when it all went horribly wrong.

  • @harrisonhiroyuki i agree when ever i saw alien 3 i was praying that ripley would find a way to survive the movie and when they made those comic books after aliens where ripley newt and hicks have adventures darkhorse probaly felt really stupid after they saw alien 3

  • The difference between Scott and Cameron is that after making Titanic and Avatar, Cameron can go up to any film company executive, spit in his face, f**k his daughter and the guy would still be begging him to make a movie for the company.

  • @Ylviste true

  • @evilotto91 I think I can agree with that whoever is giving you thumbs down can fuck OFF, except for the AvP:R is better than AvP1 part. I liked them both but if you really pushed me I'd say the first was a smidge better.

  • the first avp movie wasnt that bad the second one really sucked ass

  • "KILLLLL MEEEE!"

  • "I got to be careful with what I say because I have an arrangement with 20th Century Fox."

    aka

"I fucking hate it, but I can't say that because Fox will pull my funding for the Alien prequel if I do."

  • I wish I'd of been there if he DID say that. You know why? So I could kick his fucking ass! But he didn't say that, which is good. Because I liked those movies, and I'm excited for this new Alien prequel.

Yes I know that may be shocking to all of you that someone who likes AvP can still be interested in Alien. In fact I'm sure that at least 100% of you fainted like little school girls when you read that because you're all a bunch of fucking pussies who can't like more than one thing!

  • @sargecaboosegriftex He has a right to not like any of the spin off products of something he helped create. It's like he doesn't like on of his children or their children. And I know it's your oppinion on whether you like the AVP movies or not. But seriously You don't like the original movies? Not even Predator?

  • @CBright7831 That is so true. Haha.

  • sorry my hearing aint so good can any on reply what he actualy said TY in advance

  • i admire cameron more for voicing an honest opinion, as opposed to ridley's financial censored remarks

  • Scott said all he needed to say for people to know how he feels.

Besides, the man (and any man especially ones with responsibilities) knows what pays the bills and puts that first.

Lets say he did like Cameron and told his feelings then got canned because of it. Then what? I will tell you what, no more alien sequels from Scott = no potentially good Alien5.

There is a time and place for everything, and sometimes you will have to bite your tongue for the greater good.

  • @DMalenfant1 well said good sir!

  • I do too, but at least some good is coming out of it.... IE new Alien movie directed by the man himself!

  • The games were way better anyway.

  • ridely scott is funny

  • What did ridley scott think of james camerons aliens?

  • IT SUCKS! no giger=no alien

  • That would be interesting but he might thank james for being better lol

  • I can't hear his response clearly. What did he say?

  • He said "I gotta be careful about what I say because I've actually have a very nice relationship with 20th Century Fox... I think they know how I feel." Basically, he's indirectly saying that he would go on a rant about it because of how bad it is, but he doesn't want to irritate the executives there.

  • i t also means that hes already expressed his feelings to fox because he hates it and they threaten to ruin his films memory.

  • "Threaten?" Nah, mate. We've crossed that bridge already. Any further damage made can only be taken as a parody of the damage that's already been done. Either way, so far as I'm concerned, if it exists after the year 2000, it's not really an Alien film. I'm half-tempted to say 1990, for that matter.

  • Fuck you. Fuck the whole lot of you! The fact that you all dispise good film making is completely insane!

  • @sargecaboosegriftex AVP is not good filmmaking. Alien was. Aliens was. In comparison, so were A3 and Resurrection. AVP is just raping the franchise--both franchises, actually--with bad CGI, poor character development, an abysmal grasp of world history, inept set design, fan-fiction-esque scripts, bogus retcons, cookie-cutter symbolism and a bona-fide sense of unwarranted self-importance.

  • lol

  • i think they know how i feel.

  • I couldn't understand his response, what did he say?

  • Paul Anderson... POWNED

  • Titanic sucked fucking bad. Ridley is the best director of this century. No contest. Besides, Ridley created the alien franchise. Like Scott said, cameron just adds eye candy and though his stuff is good, he can't compete with scott. No one can. Ever seen bladerunner? I rest my case.
