  • Whcih shows has logos on VHS & DVD?

  • I love this part at 0:55

  • I love 1:00

  • 1993 hurt my ears

  • The trapezoid NBC logo in the 70's was actually used by Nebraska Educational Television.

  • good i like it

  • NBC is going to get new logo?

  • Um, nothing like recompressing already-compressed video. Audio levels are waaaaaay off the meter, too. And frankly, too much time devoted to the new six-feather peacock and none devoted to the 11-feather with the trapezoid (from the 1980s). Nor was there anything pre-1950s chimes.

  • @dan1701a go cry about it.

  • Luv the one with the socks! I don't remember seeing that before.

  • Their new logo is going to be a hammer and sickle with their new name: Nationally Broadcast Communism.

  • Awesome.

  • Wow, you managed to miss nearly the entire 1980's with the combination of the "proud peacock" and "Network N".

  • Think the audio could be any louder?

  • 1954,1957,1963,1962,1965,1976,1976,1986,1990,1989,early 1994,1997,1994,1998,1999,2000,2000,2004

  • The 1986 logo, the year that GE purchased NBC, this logo is awesome.

  • i dont understand this, i need the exact year, and not the mid-1960, late-1960, so on...

  • 1:17- OMG that is soo scary...

  • Here's a bit of trivia: NBC's famous three-chime intro are in the keys of 'G,' 'E,' and 'C." "G.E.C." Genereal Electric Company.

  • @carchavtube Quit spreading this incorrect information, I've seen it in so many places.

  • @nubbie1944

Pardon me, but it IS the truth. I looked it up on Wikipedia.

  • @carchavtube Well when NBC first started their sponsor was not GE, but RCA.

  • @nubbie1944

Oh, RCA was more than a sponsor of NBC. RCA *owned* NBC from its start all the way up until 1986-1987.

  • @carchavtube

The company that founded NBC and owned it up until the 1980s was RCA.

In 1986, RCA was bought out by GE, which then broke RCA up and sold the pieces. Of particular note, the record company went to Bertelsmann in Germany and electronics went to Thomson in France.

NBC was the only major remnant of RCA that GE kept for itself.

The fact that the three notes of the chime are G, E and C is coincidental to the fact that they are the first letters of the full name of GE.

  • My favorite is the one from 1998.

  • great idea, except to minor details the quality is from the days of a 56k dial up modem and the sound is generated using an old 1970s tape machine...apart from that brilliant upload

  • thats some bad editing

  • no proud as a peacock?

  • I love the 2000-2004 edition of the ID. The song is so iconic and truly epic.

  • Man, the 2 color/2 trapezoid NBC logo rocked the 70s.

  • Oh yeah those were awesome!

  • and one of the best in nbc's history.

  • @PDS1990 tom snyder said it was a typical example of non-creative types trying to do something creative.

it did eventually lead to the c&g peacock.

  • what's your favorite NBC logo?

  • I like the robotic one, with the factory. What is yours?

  • about all of them from the xylophone to today.

  • Yes there all quite nice.

  • I agree.

  • after 75 years, NBC is STILL the place to be!

  • true!
