and from a critic perspective, I think its a Mona Lisa on film. The way the scenes are perfectly combined with the music, the elaborate plot, the way the action was pushed towards the middle-end of the film to assure the audience understood the powerful connection that emerged between creasy and pita and the ending is so powerful. At the beginning of the film Creasy is an emotionally dead character but at the end he dies as a live one. Creasy saves Pita, but Pita also saves Creasy.

This is probably my favorite movie for several reasons. As Mexican, it is very easy to connect to this movie. Corrupt officials, organized crime, opportunistic greed, violence, apathy, unfortunately, its all a reflection of our society. All the bad things opaque all the good things about our country.

@TheMusicLover621 He dies in the car. When he drops the medalion he dies. It's part of why he was so brutally thorough when trying to get to the bottom of it all. He wasn't healing in the first place, so he knew he might not have very long to get to the man responsible for supposedly killing her. And then he got shot again right there at the end before he found out she was alive and arranged the exchange. He was dying when he sent her to her mother, he barely made it to the car.

@rilndrmlrh When I first watched the movie we all thought that Creasy simply had been tortured and killed by the kidnappers. A friend told me "those guys were very bad people" - But the draft script shows that he was supposed to die at that moment

In the original novel Creasy survives, and stars in several sequel adventures. Do you wish that Denzel Washington would star in Creasy prequels that would be loosely based off of some Quinnell titles?

I had the same wonderment. As I read from wikipedia the movie is based on a novel and the character dies from a gunshot wound just after surrendering but not before making sure Pita is safe. Really touching end, cry every time I see it.
