  • @jamok3 - of course - both being beneficial ---- need to make sure you have adequate rest and recovery.

  • @DesiWalkerIFBBPro Exactly. Desi is awesome and ridiculously strong... there can always be a balance. I balance them pretty well, and my experience as been that gymnastics can make you quite a bit stronger in the weight room.

  • @xiaoyang7 atleast 15 exercises do each one right after the other with very little or no rest in between and use half your normal working out weight.

  • Nice video. While you aren't doing any traditional "cardio" such as run/bike/swim, you are in fact doing "cardio" since your heart rate bumps in such anaerobic conditioning circuits that you are doing (which are somewhat similar to HIT training).

  • When I was was a gymnast we had to cast up to handstand then slowly go back down to the bar instead of just dropping off the bar and hopping back up. It's much more difficult that way because it reaquires more control. Just saying...it's something to build up to.

  • Whats your diet like? Do you count calories?

  • @ss4vegeta1 - my coach Scott Abel monitors my diet. I don't count calories at all - normally eat the same foods during the week (egg whites, grits, sweet potatoes, variety of veggies, salmon, rice, chicken). On the weekends, it is very relaxed and it quite a few meals out.

  • WOWW!!! that was a crazy circuit! Awesome. You got any tips for handstands cause I am struggling with the balance? I can do handstand pushups against a wall all day but fall off balance usually without. I've had some rough falls lol!

  • @82Bdog - practice, practice, practice - it takes time to acquire that type of balance. make sure you are using correct form too!

  • Holy crap Desi! youre more diesel than Kevin the machine lol. did Scott design that for you? Or did you come up with that yourself? Do you have any recommendations for digressions? I think an upper body inch worm might be fitting for your handstand walks, but are there any digressed substitutes for the gymnastics movements you use? Thanks for the awesome video, it's always great and motivating to see someone at such a high level train.

  • @existentialdeer @existentialdeer .- LOL! I will try to help you the best I can - Scott leaves the gymnastics up to me - so I put this one together as part of my fun - gymnastics training day. As far as trying to achieve the same "effect" for the non- gymnast - I recommend the Scott's Core Blast, the Intimidator, and Croc Walk Killers (this are in the MET portion of his channel)

  • @existentialdeer - Also I wanted to add that db snatches would be comparable to the cast handstands on the single bar, croc walks with the ab wheel for the handstand walks (inch worm as well, but croc walks with feet in ab wheel are more similar) - the the flipping burpees at the end - just regular burgees with a rebounding jump.
