  • 1 dislike? Who the hell would dislike this?

  • @silvershadic justin bieber?

  • One dislike? Ohh, Kevin Moore.

  • @Vodkanov94 :)

  • i love hearing the subtle musical references to dream theater

  • THIS IS THE

  • This is officially my current favorite song.

  • IF THAT IS AN IMPROV SOLO WITH THE KEYBOARD AND GUITAR.... WOOOW

  • @talkofthetown69 Improvised? I don't think so, it's impossible to improvise for two hours without errors... surely there's a lot of improvisation but it's not totally improv

  • Oh dayum! I JUST had an eargasm. Thanks for posting!!!!!!

  • epic

  • have any of you heard the first bit of guitar play from any LTE or DT songs?

  • @Jorbazz It DOES sound a little like Acid Rain by LTE, and the crunch also. But never heard that particular lick.

  • @EsreverEmordnilap yes kinda, is Levin playing in this album?

  • @Jorbazz No he's not, just guitar and keyboards, which is impressive.

  • @Jorbazz No he's not, just guitar and keyboards, which is impressive. Their's a wiki article on the album itself...

  • @EsreverEmordnilap Nice :P

  • Its called "live." Live shows don't sound like the records, no matter how many racks, or pedals you have. Also you don't get the full effect unless you're there. Also the sound varies depending on the venue. I saw Petrucci at G3, and he blew me away. Recently I saw him with Dream Theater, and the sound quality was horrible for some reason, all you could hear was bass registers. All the sound comes through the moniters, not their amps, so if the moniters suck, so does the sound.

  • @Distortedcontent Someone who knows what he's talking about. Finally.

  • @Distortedcontent

i saw dream theater a few months ago, and i think it was the monitors, 'cuz their sound was great

  • @Distortedcontent i know what you mean, i saw dream theater 3 times this past NA tour and the sound was diff all 3 days. first day was balanced but very echo-e, 2nd day i was infront of a monitor so all i herd was james and jordan and JM basically lol last day i moved around security didnt care and it was amazing sound until i went infront a monitor again at the end. my suggestion dont get first row unless ur going to only one show cuz sound there sux

  • yes yes yes yes yes yessssssssss VBHVSCKLHFCKGSKLHGFKLD

  • You got so excited you freakin had an episode like WHOOP WHOOP SHISHKABOOB HAHAHOAIHDLKFJDSA:LKFJSAD:LFKJ!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah it's not the greatest, but this whole album is just like, spur of the moment:

"hey jordan, wanna randomly create some ridiculous music on the spot?" "sure john, lets not even bother finding a good guitar sound, I'm sure our music will still fry the brains of everyone listening!"

    haha these guys are amazing

  • Hell naw, what about the last part of Best of Times?! That's fucking Jason Becker status neoclassical shit right there man. I liked the first 4 min of The Count of Tuscany as well. It sounded like Learning to Live, which is good.

  • oh shut up. you have not heard dream theater if you think that Black Clouds was their best work.

  • People are entitled to their opinions. You cannot dictate what sounds pleasing to someone's ear.

  • @MorbidGuardian

the fucks with you? i tell him what i heard and you give me a lesson?

  • Nothing's "the fuck" with me lol You were being a jerk, so I made you look stupid :D

  • @MorbidGuardian wait what? i said that i saw dream theater and their sound was great...?

  • @VanishingDigital BC&SL was and is one of their best albums in the top 5 for me, i dont have them in an exact order i love all their albums

  • really? not must not like prog

  • @VanishingDigital huh? lol

  • @JEDSaje15 well, if you like BC&SL as one of their best albums, you must not like DT's prog side.

  • @VanishingDigital that makes no sense. you much not be a real DT fan if you dont like all their albums. my top 5 is 6degrees of inner turblence, awake, Metropolis pt 2, BC&SL, images and words. no particular order. i dislike falling into infinity tho thats the only thing.

  • @JEDSaje15

well, your logic is flawed. Say DT makes a heavy metal type album. little to no prog in it. i would not like it, but i still would be a fan of DT. Since you don't like FIT then you must not be a DT fan.

I don't need to like every single thing a band has made to be a fan of them.

  • y would you say that, the count of tuscany was very proggy as well as the best of times. wither had some prog elements in it aswell. a rite of passage was very proggy in the instrumental solo section, a nightmare to remember was more on the metal side, but still included some prog elements same with the shattered fortress.

  • Dude, you've got to be kidding me. You know this was improvised live right? You've got to be able to predict your whole several hours of performance in order to get a good guitar tone.

  • Yes I know it was improvised live...But improvised do not mean NO SOUND CHECK He´s Jhon Petrucci man, he have all the fuckin racks, filters, picks ups, amps and compressors in the world, he cant sound like that.

  • I think it might be just that youtube sucks... bad sound quality on youtube's part. or this guy might have downloaded it instead of buying the album so it can also make it sound bad,

  • You spelled it wrong, it's spelled aweSOME, not awFULL, by the way, "awfull" has one 'l'.

  • Wow... Brilliant Music!

  • they are the best, they are like, the best of the best and better than that, nothing/no one can top this! And if you think that's not true, and if you say this is shit. Go sit in your cave and listen to your own music but you will find out in a few years that this IS music made by gods! John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess definately 2 of the best musicians ever, but not to forget Mike Portnoy, James LaBrie and John Myung. They are 5 of the few best musicians in the world!

  • you couldn't be more right

  • @hankypanky2992 If your comment was a girl, I'd totally tap that.

  • @hankypanky2992 You don't happen to like dream theater do you?

  • They are nothing less then SIMPLY GENIUS!!

  • METH!

  • What's most amazing to me about this song and the rest of this album is that it's mostly IMPROVISED.

Yes, this was a charity thing that John and Jordan did while on tour with DT; they wrote some melodies that afternoon and then performed the show that night while they were in NY. Except for the parts they play in unison and some old LTE songs, the rest is pretty much just pure jamming.

Blows the mind to think about it.

  • o absolutely its just incredible. these guys are the ultimate musical duo

  • these guys carry so much emotion and power behind their playing nd there doing it without drums :P

  • i love them everything is just so amazing

my uncle gave me a copy and then after hearing a first time

    i just couldn't stop listening 2 it

    absolutley amazing

    love DT and LTE aswell

  • what is LTE ??

I know DreamTheater but i don't knwo LTE

  • LTE is liquid tension experiment,

an instrumental band of Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, and Tony Levin.

  • Thanks dude

  • I love this song. Thanks for sharing.

  • they should performance this song with DT, it would be a great song

  • intro...fuk totally a scene for a japanese battle scene in a video game

  • yeah, for me DT, LTE, Petrucci & Rudess sometimes sounded a little bit like the typical japanese anime music with more odd time signatures. I hope no one will kill me for that

  • DT said it themselves. a good portion of their music is made in taste of japanese people.. because alot of their fanbase is from japan.

    source: Live in Budokan DVD.

  • @AngryLlamaz ever see live scenes from NY and Score? people from all around the world, not one Japanese person not that you can see anyways lol

  • lol.. that may be so, but these are not my words.. What i said came directly from Dream Theater members themselves!! so ask JP or JR on his youtube channel! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. I had no idea you were a subscriber of bullshit magazine.

  • eh?

  • it's the best song i've ever heard

  • like a battle in the rain, powerfull

  • the first guitar solo i absoulutly its the best ever simple but powerfull

  • Hey, a friend gave me a copy of this album... It is great, but there are different songs from my cd (11 tracks) and the songs I'm listening here... any answers about this? I gotta buy the CD! there are songs I've never heard

  • this cd has been edited from it´s release,,,they added 2 more tracks in the second edition...one was The Bite of the Mosquito.

  • goose-bump song

  • Very nice piece! Just wondering, did they released an album for these songs?

  • They released a live album called "an evening with john petrucci & jordan rudess".

the cover art is shown in the video

  • @supahdende it's available on jordan rudess' official homepage

  • This is, with Hang 11, my favourite song off the album.

What I love about this song is that when it reaches a climax, it goes quiet for a second, and then starts from the beginning again.

I always fly off the handle when that happens.

  • wow these songs are much better than i originally thought

  • i thing that here was the moust brutal ,,the moust faster and moust beautiful solo from petrucci!!!! fucking amaizing!!!!

  • estos tipos son unos grosos. nunca me voy a cansar de escucharlos...y a dream en sí tampoco

  • kings

  • exactly the right word! well put. i love the paino.

    the N.I.
