Yes Chad is back with RHCP but Michael Anthony and Satch have confirmed that they had already started writing for the next Chickenfoot cd and will get together and work on it in between everyone's other band projects. Satch mentioned it in Guitar World a couple months back. Hopefully it's true.
@MarvinPooper, that's Andy Johns actually. His career started with Led Zeppelin, Free and the Stones. He also worked with Van Halen with Hagar on their 1991 album "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge".
SeriousJuJuFoot, right now Chickenfoot is on hiatus because drummer Chad Smith's first band the Red Hot Chili Peppers is working on their next CD. No clue when the next Chickenfoot CD will happen. We'll just have to wait and see.
I love everything about this band. They just rock and have fun doing it. What a concept....
