  • Nichiren Shu forever!

  • @MrRaniero I completely understand buddy. It is too late to change the title. I was meaning for future reference. Nichiren Shoshu and Sokka Gakkai refer to him as such at times, but Fuji Taisekiji Kenshokai always use the honorrifics. Sometimes other sects don't realize this, so there is no offense.

  • @Muraku666 Sincerely thank you, for your understanding, from the bottom of my heart.

    NIce to meet you.

  • @MrRaniero I understand that, but many sects of Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism (Including my own) find it disrespectful to refer to him by just his name. I understand that there are other sects that feel comfortable calling him by name only, but conflict can easily be avoided by simply using the higher honorrific in public. I'm sorry if I came off strongly, but The Daishonin is such an important figure in my life, that I cannot refer to him in the same manner as other men.

  • @Muraku666 The Daishonin is such an important figure in my life too.

I can not change the title ... it's too late ...

Please forgive me if I made you feel bad

  • How Dare you refer to His greatness as "The Nichiren" That was just his name! When referring to him shortly, use "The Daishonin"="The Great Prophet"

  • @Muraku666

It is not disrespectful! Not everyone calls him "Daishonin"!! Nichiren has been known by several posthumous names intended to express respect toward him or to represent his position in the history of Buddhism.

The Japanese imperial court also awarded Nichiren the honorific designations Nichiren Daibosatsu 日蓮大菩薩 "Great Bodhisattva Nichiren", and Risshō Daishi 立正大師 "Great Teacher Risshō; the former title was granted in 1358, and the latter in 1922.

I'm sorry if I hurt you.

  • @Muraku666 Why even worry about the names and "titles" people use. Nichiren was a man. Probably would not have been too concerned abut such things himself. Please..this is not Nichiren worship, but, hopefully, an understanding of a good message.

  • Please stop posting the gohonzon. Lets not make it into some religious relic; it was meant for people who are earnestly working to change their lives to see. For that reason the Nichren writes to Abutsubo, a staunch practitioner, that " keep it safe...do not show this to anyone..." Lets honor the gohonzon as a way to manifest our buddhist practice and foster a healthy & religious relationship with it. It belongs in a home, enshrined in an alter. Not on T-shirts and not on youtube.

  • There is no enlightenment outside of the Heritage of the Law.. This is what the Daishonin explained in various Gosho's. This is not an arguement. You will find no benefit emerges from chanting to a false piece of paper with honzon inscriptions.

  • Dear QuanYin71, I loved your comment:I pray for peace to all ..me too. the most important is nam-myoho-renge-kyo, and their manifestation. make the kosen-rufu thoguether.

    regards.

    Ana, from Argentina

    Grazie :-)

  • NO SE PUEDE MOSTRAR EL GOHONZON!!!!!

  • I have little understanding of the gohonzon and ceremonies that go with it ,

i just have a printed gohonzon i found on the net .

I just sit and do gongyo and daimoku .. thats my practice ..

i have no need for arguements between the SGI , nichiren shu or soshu ..

i pray for peace to all ..

  • Me too, QuanYin...

I have no need for arguements between the SGI , nichiren shu or soshu ...

... and i pray for peace to all ..

All the best for you, nice to meet you.

  • Mr Raniero,

Nichiren made it possible for people in the world to have a mirror( The Gohonzon) in order for them to see themselves from the point of the Buddha nature. Nichiren did not invent the meaning of the Gohonzon but by inscribing the Gohonzon he made it possible for mankind to have a physical form of the Buddha nature that exist in us, A TRUE MIRROR OF OURSELVES. THE BUDDHA NATURE. When we face the Gohonzon we are looking at a Mirror of of the true aspects of our lives.

  • Esatto, condivido pienamente!

    Exact, I share totally!

  • @marellamofo Thank you for this no-nonsense respectful explanation of the Gohonzon.

  • This is wonderful, I've always wanted to see the elements of the Gohonzon broken down this way! Thanks so much.

  • You are the biggest HOBO sect and a desecration to the True Buddha of Kuonganjo Nichiriren Daishonin,,, just because you sound "good" does not make it so. I refer you to the teachings of Nichiren himself...

  • Grazie a te, Lucrezia, per la visione e il commento.

  • finalmente tutto e ora piu chiaro grazie

  • Grazie Anna Maria,

    Grazie.
