  • If you guy don't like apple don't whach thre comercials

  • I miss these ads

  • who fucking cares!! fuck apple!

  • There isn't an app for what apps there arn't, TAKE THAT MICROSOFT!

  • does anyone know where i could find a buy.com commercial played in fall of 2007. It was an animated guy playing a guitar. I know it silly but it will hold sentimental value if i can find it.

    Thanks

  • @PinkFlame573

Yep, the best thing about the iPhone 4g has to be the flash and more pixels on camera

A lot of people viewing this vid won't be able to acquire the iPhone 4g, it's just going to cost alot

Luckily I discovered on Apples face book page earlier they are giving away a ton of iphone 4gs. Also, this will take you to their contest page ... just copy and paste

    shrtlnk。net/upiy

Use this code on second page FACEBOOK4269

  • Is there a presidential tracking app? I didn't even realize Obama is just a couple towns over today! Guess we won't plan on heading that way this weekend :)

  • @GlowBurgundy how about one for tracking presidential promises and how many of them have been broken?

  • I was talking to a woman yesterday who was going on about all the stuff her daughter 'had' to have to go to college. Is an iPhone about to show up on the 'required' list? Lucky kids!!

  • @MyOrangePopsicle You know, in all seriousness, if gizmos like this can cut down on the price of textbooks, I'm all for it. With what I spent on my daughter's textbooks for her freshman year, I could have bought four iPhones!

  • @geowestb WOW! I knew txtbooks were expensive but I didn't know they were that bad! Looks like I'll be getting an iphone just to use that textbook app!

  • @geowestb I am with you! My kid is pre-med and the books have been about to break me. We can hardly ever buy used because of some update to the text. If they could get these books in electronic format and cheaper on things like the iPhone and the iPad, it would be fantastic!

  • @MyOrangePopsicle It may not be on official required lists but kids are making it clear that they HAVE to have one

  • @ekia8330 The iPhone is a little more expensive than some of the things I thought I HAD to have when I was that age, but in the long run it has a lot more potential to actually make the transition from gee whiz toy to real tool. Or maybe to be able to balance the two over its working life. In the bang for the buck department, I'd rather buy something like this with growth potential than something that will be obsolete 5 minutes after it comes out of the box.

  • I swear I'm the only one in my dorm that doesn't have a phone like this.

  • @gvsu0912 Here I'm feeling the same with my group of other moms. I don't think they all have the iphone, but something similar to it. (While I still have my tracfone)

  • @gvsu0912 And if I get one, I'll be the first in town to have one

  • How about apps for enhancing privacy? Like encryption for email? Is there an app for that? Does GnuPG have an iPhone version?

  • I could get so much more done with one of these at the park instead of a book ;) It looks like there's an app for everything!

  • Love it! This would be an awesome surprise for my wife's birthday....think she'd give me one back for my birthday?? Hahaha

  • @grannypotts You should go ahead and get two and inform her that your Birthday is already taken care of ;)

  • After reading tons and tons of reviews, I had to buy mine. Especially after going to a retail store and having the chance to look it over, little did I know that I was in that store for over an hour just looking it over. Totally lost track of time. OOPS. Then went home and got mine all set up, I couldn't put it down. There are so many apps out there that it will take days and days just to look thru them all.

  • @bellanjacob4ever Just so you know, the looking at apps is a never-ending iPhone pursuit. Invariably I go out with friends, somebody says, "Hey, I've got a new app," and in 15 seconds I'm downloading it. It's a cult. A good cult, but a cult. ;-)

  • @henhorseman iCult! haha yeah you're absolutely right. I hear "there's an app for that" and off I go! Want it. Need it. Gonna have it. haha

  • @henhorseman sounds to me like they need an app to keep track of apps!

  • @skittlesxxlover Do your homework first. There are different sizes available. I have a 8gb and its fits me, but wish I had a bigger one. Check around online, read the reviews which is what I did and found mine. I got it a great deal and have recommended to others. In fact I am using mine as we speak, Love it!!

  • I need some advice on purchasing one of these. I know there are different models available. I also need to know what accessories I need to buy as well. I seen someone had mentioned a cover. What else, also too where are the best places? I don't want to over pay if you know what I mean?

  • @skittlesxxlover I'd look into a car charger too. As addictive as this thing is, you don't wanna be left with a dead battery!

  • @skittlesxxlover I also agree with the car charger... of course I would recommend that with any cell phone after having a phone whose battery wouldn't hold a charge.

  • @skittlesxxlover Be careful on that cover stuff for the iPhone. I tried one of those silicon covers first. I have two cats and in about ten minutes I had the hairiest phone you've ever seen. Thing was a magnet for dust and fuzz. I went with a hard case that leaves the screen exposed and it's great.

  • I would like to know how many people have actually went out and bought either a iPhone or a iPod Touch? Since purchasing mine, my Mom and Brother have both bought one because of mine. I am always sharing what apps I download, especially the free ones. A friend of mine just got out of college and wanted to sell her textbooks, and showed her the app for selling her books, she was excited. She went and bought one after selling her textbooks. Its so worth it.

  • @nkotbXrules - I think thats what they're hoping for! It's definitely working in my family too... first my husband bought one, then my sister, then my mom and now me! Once we see what it can do - we ALL want one!

  • @ivegotcompanycar must be nice being able to get all those iphones so easily!

  • In all honesty this is one piece of technology you will have a hard time talking yourself out of. I was hooked the first time my finger slide across the screen with no effort. And a simple tap, and your done! I am constantly on mine and have no regrets whatsoever!!!

  • @bakingfool2day thats what im afraid of. thats why i dont want my wife trying one out..

  • @bakingfool2day Which is exactly why I won't go slide my finger across the screen of big brother iPad. I seriously think I'm going to save my bucks and upgrade to the newest version of the iPhone anyway. I can't imagine living without one of these things anymore.

  • Found an awesome Recipe application, its McCormick Recipe finder, we all know they make great spices but I would never of expected to find an app for that. I am searching for our dinner as we speak...well technically after I am done posting this.

I do want to say, if you get a iPhone or a Touch...make sure you get a cover for it. A silicone at that, mine is all scratched up but at least the front looks brand new still.

  • @cecilheadcover a cover or skin is the first thing i start looking for when i pick out a new gadget! i haaaaate letting them get scratched and dinged up!

  • Since the passing of my Grandma, I have learned so much about life and death. But I learned sometimes, just being there no matter what your doing, being there for that person is all that matters. I sat with my Grandma before she died, and yes I have my iPod Touch, and each day. I would show her pics of the Grandkids..it was priceless as she saw them. She loved it.

  • Since this came out, I am avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, and there are so many apps out there for the Hawkeyes its unbelievable. Granted you have to pay only 99 cents its still worth it. For instance if I am driving home from work and theres a game, all I do is go on my iPhone to the Hawkeye app and I kept up to date on the game. There's no missing it til' I get home anymore. I Love this!

  • @itinerantimagination I found the Ping Pong application and yes its free. I've been playing and getting frustrated...lol. But its only free for a limited time, they do that with their new games...they free for awhile but then later on you have to pay for it. But if you get it while its free, then its yours. I guess though I've never been a ping pong player which is why I'm frustrated...lol

  • @CatzRawr It would replace for some but not for all. Like the Facebook application, yes for those of us who play the games...that's not allowed...YET! I heard its going to happen, I guess once that does then I would say yes. Cause right now it limits what you can do with plugins that aren't allowed. I get that alot and like I said, once that is enabled then...I'm not sure if I will need my laptop anymore.

  • So now that my desktop computer isn't behaving again, I'm wondering if an iPhone would replace it for a lot of the things I do.....hmmm....

  • @CatzRawr - for most things, yea! I've found that since I got mine, I barely use my computer for anything anymore except typing / printing type work.

  • I am actually searching for that photo application, I like that. I have another one that is really cool, it desaturates the photo and you can add color back to anywhere on the photo. Say like their eyes, its really neat. But I like that other one and want to give it a try, anyone know the name of that application?

  • One doesn't realize how much they use technology these days, really think about it. If you were to take away your computer/laptop...how lost would you feel? When I moved, and didn't have my laptop, I used my iPod Touch constantly. I needed the weather application too see how the roads were going to be and also I needed a map, cause I was having issues with the map I had, so having the map on my iPod Touch was perfect.

  • Did someone mention a recipe app? I am always searching for our next meal to create and serve to my boys something good for dinner. I made a wonderful meal a couple years ago and I am constantly searching for them delicious carmelized onions mixed in mashed potatoes. I just may get lucky and find it today!!!

  • I would love to have the recipe app. Maybe it would make me a better cook. Maybe that's the reason I'll give to my husband as to why he has to buy me an iphone.

  • Did someone mention that they make PONG for iPhone? Seriously? Is it free, or do you have to pay for it.? I could go search for it, I suppose...

  • Yes, the little icons have a description underneath them. And more than likely when you download the application they are what you want and chances are you will remember just by looking at the icon itself. My favorite game is Unblock me, and I play it constantly and have it on my first screen. Its the magic of being able to change screens is whats so cool about my ipod touch.

  • True confession: Even though I'm way over the target demographic, the next time I splurge on an app that isn't free, I'm getting the GLEE app that is essentially Glee karaoke. So hooked on that show.

  • @greensharreth You will not be alone. I didn't even know the app existed, but that's one I have to have. I am counting the days and watching iPhone ads while wiping the drool off my chin. One week and I can go get mine!

  • I would love to invest in one of these. If I owned own, I know I would have a serious blast trying to figure out all these apps!

  • @momma502 I'd have to get it when I had the weekend off so I could spend plenty of time figuring everything out and picking out all the best apps!

  • I have to laugh because my friend sent me this link and said she can't believe I don't have one of these yet. Little does she know.. my husband hinted at getting me one for Mothers Day. ~grin~

  • My favorite app on this phone is the photo one. I really think I could have a lot of fun with that one!

  • I'm from Portugal and here the iPhone is not very popular or at least people don't buy them at the same speed as in US or other country. I have checked on cellphone and computer stores and they are only available under a previous order. I wish I could have access to one, just to try it.

  • I went through the last comments and I'm amazed with the potenciality of the iPhone. You guys convinced me that it is a must buy, I just need the money now.

The to-do-list, task managements and event alarm would be the perfect applications for me.

  • I'm looking forward to using some recipe apps!!

  • What I really like about the iphone is never having to print directions again. Yay, google maps and GPS - even without the turn-by-turn voice guidance.

  • @Escribition That's actually what I'm looking most forward to when I get mine next month :) I get lost so easily haha

  • My mom is getting one for Mother's Day. I can't believe she'll have one before me!

  • @stingismyhomeboy - haha my mom got one before me too! Then I got jealous and had to go buy myself one ;) Can't let my elders be ahead of me with technology! Thats blasphemy!

  • @MissionResponsible Oh I definitely need to get one before my mom does-- she'll be calling me and asking how to do everything on it!

  • @welookedlikegiants42 that's where I'm at! I get to be "tech support" for the neighborhood and I've already heard several people around here are getting one. This means I need to get one just to show 'em how to use it!

  • I agree with @copollamarc, I've seen such great comments showing that the iPhone is worth the money it costs that it makes me think why don't I have one already. HoweverI have one little detail that scares me: how do we deal with so many applications? Icons and Icons...I hope it is not confusing.

  • @richyalmeida You do have the ability to arrange the icons the way you want them, so that you can find frequently-used apps quickly. On my iPhone, for example, I have all the game apps on one page of the screen.

  • With so many positive comments the iPhone must be an excellent gadget for our daily busy life. I never tried it but I really am looking forward to it.

  • @copollamarc - it definitely is... go to one of the stores and play with one! They're usually out on display for you to test out / fool around with! It's a good way to decide if you want one. We went and played with an IPAD yesterday - AMAZING!

  • Love the fact that there is a app for almost anything out there, who knew how far technology would advance in a such a short amount of time. I play on my new iPod Touch all the time, its my alarm clock every morning. Yes there is a app for that as well. My suggestion if you are a tech freak, get one...you won't be disappointed. I am off to play with the photo app. Very nice to have and enjoy while waiting for my Son to get out of school.

  • @herbalgardener1 You really should get one! Buydotcom has the best deals I've seen so far!

  • Sometimes I think I'm tech challenged but my family seems to think I catch on to tech stuff pretty quickly. Wonder how long it would take to learn to use this?

  • I'm always a little jealous when Son brings his iPhone with him to my house. I'm about to give in and get one for myself, iThink!

  • I hope it has a nice lock-out app so I can get something done besides play with all the apps! A nice timer, maybe? ;)

  • @insightfulcommentor - HA! I am finding that's what I need... I just got mine two days ago and I CAN'T stop playing with it! I woke up early yesterday morning just to play with it more! I know the poor battery is hoping for me to chill out as well!

  • This is such a nice looking machine. I'm seriously thinking about getting one when the contract on my old phone runs out. But then again, maybe something bigger and better will be on the market when that happens.

  • I only know the iPhone from video presentations, never had the pleasure to touch one but I look forward to it. It seems so helpful with all those applications. I have to put it on my shopping list.

  • @1sandraqueen1 - Go to any electronics store / Apple store and they will let you play with them! I've done that quite a few times... I bet they have the Ipad now to play with as well ;)

  • My son just bought one of these and I have to tell you all that I'm loving playing around with all the apps! Now if I could only get one.

  • Being a working mom with a lot of chores and tasks to do inside and outside the house I think the iPhone would be perfect to get organized.

Does the iPhone has voice acknowledge? I mean, to switch from one application to another?

  • @madacove - I'm fairly certain it has voice activation... most of the newer phones do and most of the newer phones based themselves off the Iphone - so I would assume so!

  • I'm ashamed of my cheap cell phone with a service that doesn't allow internet access. I really need an iPhone to keep in touch with the world when I'm not at home.

  • @katecoster That's it exactly. I decided initially to go with the competition and picked up a BB. It's . . . okay . . . but my contract is about up and I'm shopping big time. My friends are so scattered, I'm using my phone for social networking more than I ever thought I would and the iPhone just handles that better than any other product.

  • Seriously, one of my favorite game apps is the virtual etch-a-sketch. Just like the real toy, shaking the phone clears the screen.

  • @cwbarista - haha, oh! I have to try that out! My favorites are old school pong and the lightsaber one that makes the sound effects when you swing the phone at someone ;) What will they think of next??

  • It never ceases to amaze me what a cell phone can do anymore! But an app you can use to find the best price on a item just by taking a picture would sure come in handy in times like ours!

  • @PawsLife I saw in the current issue of Ladies Home Journal (it was at the doctor's office, I swear!) that there's another app that lets you snap a pic of a bar code, and it will then tell you where you can find the same item for less money. Talk about comparison shopping!

  • @katlaforge How fun would that make shopping!

  • @katlaforge That would get me in trouble though! I talk myself out of buying things by saying I'll check around and make sure I can't find it cheaper somewhere else-- if I had that I'd be out of excuses! haha

  • of course I would finally get the chance to get one of these when they start cracking down on cell phone use at work. I can just see myself getting fired playing guitar hero on my phone...

  • @memorieslikebullets0

Oh my goodness - guitar hero on the phone? I haven't even played it with the tv yet (since we don't have any game systems...). Sounds like waiting in line anywhere could be a lot more fun!

  • I heard there is a 4G version coming soon. I think I'm going to wait for it before buying a iPhone. Meanwhile, let's fill up the money piggy with some coins and get the money to buy the iPhone.

  • @tiramaya That's what I'm thinking-- either that or I might wait until the 4G version comes out and the price goes down for the older one. Haven't decided yet.

  • I can just imagine the things I could do with this phone. I really wish I had the money to purchase one.

  • I can't wait to put my hands on an iPhone, it seems so cool and so helpful. I have to start saving for one.

  • After a weekend like this past in the south, they should come up with an app that the phone would call you if you're in an area and there is a tornado warning.

  • @AnnS99 That would be a cool app. Honestly I'm surprised phones do that sort of thing.. you would think they could, especially at night time when people are sleeping.

  • @MrDodge68 You're totally right-- we have an alert system like that at our college, I'm betting you've gotta be able to sign up for alerts like that somewhere. At least through bigger weather stations or something.

  • @TheChocolatier6464 yes under the icon there is text there saying what the name of that app is! It be hard to remember if you had a lot of apps on there which was which, I agree!

  • how about people that are almost blind? Is there an app (or whatever) to make using the iphone easier for us?

  • @BlogDoofus you mean something like iBraille?

  • @BlogDoofus - I'm legally blind and I know there's an app that you can make things bigger OR make it read everything on the screen for you. You can user facebook, youtube, myspace, etc a lot easier!

  • Do all the little apps say what they are under the icon? I hope I'll be able to remember what all those lil icons are for!

  • @TheChocolatier6464 If what they showed in the video is any example, then yes, there is a text label for each app. What I want to know is can I turn off the icons and just use text labels instead?

  • @TheChocolatier6464 - it looks like it says the name of the App itself.. I think after a while you get used to it. The little pictures are also usually helpful - there's a learning curve for sure, but it's not too difficult to catch on to!

  • Someday I'd like to have an iPhone to play around with if only because I want to see for myself the gadget that so many are raving about. I don't even USE phones enough to justify a normal cell phone but this thing looks like it could have enough other uses to make it worthwhile to even me. I wonder if there is a way to "try Before you buy"?? That's my preferred way to check out new stuff.

  • @selif1 Well technically, you DO have 30 days to play with it and decide if you like it...but you half to cough up several hundred dollars for the privilege.

  • @selif1 I really wish there was, but I think we'll just have to settle for kidnapping a friend's iPhone for a few hours!

  • Those apps look amazing! I would give my right arm to own an iphone!

  • My human says SHE loves that her Nike PLUS sensor thingy works with the iPhone 3GS...she says there isn't an app that will let me out in the middle of the night, though.

  • I have an app that comes in handy that has most restaurants listed in it and their meals and how many calories the meals have! It sure is an eye opener when you pay attention to counting calories!

  • @HunnyNuttyOne Now that sounds like the kind of app I would need!

  • @HunnyNuttyOne Wow, I need that!! That would be a great help for my diet because hubby and I eat at restaurants entirely too much. Gonna go look for it now...

  • @HunnyNuttyOne - Oh Lord... I must download that! If I look at it every time I'm about to order something I will guilt myself into eating more healthy.. it's the new way to diet of the 21st century ;)

  • I am totally torn between the iPhone and the Droid - by time I make up my mind there will be another new super duper smart phone! Just when I think I made up my mind...I see commercials like these. Both phones seem to have awesome features!

  • @breakingevent - Well think of it this way.. the Iphone was the originator and the Droid is just a copy. The Iphone still has WAY more apps and users than the Droid (at the moment) so it's the better choice in my opinion...

  • What I find hilarious is that if I ever have trouble with an app, my six-year-old nephew can figure it out right away.

  • @louisescissorhands Isn't that always the way? Little kids are so quick at adapting to new technology!

  • I use my iPhone for everygthing. I'd probably be completely lost without it. The thought is a little frightening, actually.

  • @freezerbagful * I meant EVERYTHING! Not sure where that extra "g" came from.

  • I'm curious as to which app the picture of a coffee cup represents. My sis says that she orders her coffee from Starshmuk's before she gets there, via her iPhone... that would certainly be convenient!

  • @WakefieldRoger Hey, you never know, it might be a teacup! ;)

  • I can even imagine what they'll dream of next! I never would have thought we could have all this at our fingertips even ten years ago! Love it :)

  • @theoneandonly216 I agree 100%! I think the people at Apple are true visionaries.

  • I wonder if by the time this phone was available by another cell carrier if the new 4G would be out! But I think that happens with any phone you get really, you get it and then few months later an updated model is out!

  • I ended up having to take my daughter to my work the other day - childcare had a family emergency and had to drop her off - and while I definitely don't regularly use TV as a babysitter, I was glad I had my iPhone with me. I downloaded two episodes of her favorite show and she was quiet during my conference calls.

  • @WalterBlairAloysius I don't think there's anything wrong with that, as long as it's not an every-day thing.

  • @WalterBlairAloysius I agree with @FallingSoftly2009 ... using TV as a babysitter all the time is no good, but if it's once in a blue moon, what's the harm?

  • We're using an app on our iphone to plan our vegetable and flower gardens - I'm really starting to think that there's almost nothing this phone can't do!

  • @MrMrsMiddleton Is it the one where you can put in a photo of your space, and then it will show you what that space will look like with the flowers you choose? I absolutely adore that one... although I don't always manage to plant them outdoors (I live in a COLD climate), I love seeing what they look like on the screen! ;)

  • My very favourite app of them all is the Treadmill app. You can use it to count how many steps you're taking, how far you've walked, how many calories you've burned... I'm glad to see that there are apps that can map out a route - I hate getting lost ;)

  • @Sprocketman1 My wife says that I'm a typical man - never wanting to ask for directions... She's never been happier than when I got an iPhone. She added a mapping app right away and now I don't have to ask for directions.

  • I'm definitely waiting for the 4G, hard as it may be for me to wait! What a few more months, eh?

  • @alwaysrightify How many more months is it, exactly? Have they said?

  • @TulliadAragona I wish I knew that, too! Everything I've found just says "Coming in 2010"... we have more than six months left to wait!

  • @electricalcurrency Six months, in the grand scheme of things, isn't THAT long... oh who am I kidding, it seems like FOREVER, doesn't it?

  • Comment removed

  • @alwaysrightify - I've tried this whole waiting thing with technology and it never works.. there's always SOMETHING new that comes out just as soon as I buy whatever it is I'm thinking about buying. Once you wait for 4G then it will be time for 5G!

  • @MrsLoveNut really Verizon might be offering this phone as a choice, oh wow that would be sweet, our plan is ending this summer currently and I love to upgrade to this phone!!

  • After I get my next paycheck I'll have enough saved up where I can get one. I'm so excited!

  • @tqd954 Wow, if I were you, I'd wait a few more months for the 4G. No sense in buying something you know will be out of date that quickly!

  • @panamahatrack - Oh, it's going to be out of date regardless of when you buy it... if she buys it in a few months then people will say "you should have waited for 5G" - you can NEVER catch up with technology - just gotta jump in when you can!

  • best investment I've ever made as far as a smart phones go. I am hooked on my iPhone! LOL

  • Does anyone know if there's an iPhone app for recording both sides of a phone conversation, a la the Pamela add-on for Skype? The voice recorder does NOT do this.

  • I heard Verizon is gonna be offering the iPhone soon? If they do I think a lot of people would be happy. I know I's be one of them. LoL

    It's a great phone!!!

  • @MrsLoveNut That would be great because I have Verizon in my area!

  • @BlogChickie, same here, I love to have this phone but AT&T doesn't do well in our area either, it be nice if another carrier offered it huh!

  • My birthday is coming up soon, I'm going to send this link to my husband. Maybe he'll take the hint. lol

  • love the iPhone but sadly AT&T doesn't do well in our rural area ~sigh~ but hopefully soon we'll get another choice and when we do...I'm getting one!

  • When I bought my iPhone, I also bought a "naked" case for it...I just upgraded my phone (more memory, 3GS) but now I need a new case because the old one is getting...icky. Can anyone recommend something less bulky than the naked case?

  • Even Grandson has one of these! I am way out of date, I think.

  • Do these have gps? Sometimes I think I need gps to find my way around, with all the new roads being built here lately

  • @budgetkeeper I would think they would since I know they have a geocaching app and to geocache you need a GPS.

  • @budgetkeeper Yes, you can track your route on Google Maps. It's VERY accurate too, and has helped me out of more than a few jams already!

  • @thesauruslvr Oh that's really awesome! I was wondering about that as well. Thanks!

  • I suppose there's an app for selling on ebay?

  • @hippiemama100 There actually *is* an app for that, plus a couple of ebay tutorials. (I saw your comment and had to look it up!)

  • One of these would be so nice when I go away for a girls weekend getaway.

  • I just upgraded to a new iphone (seven million years behind everyone else, I finally have 3G-S. LOVE the enhanced camera, love the compass, and love that I can use my old 3G as a wifi device, without phone service. I'm fast becoming an app-addict, too.

  • The only thing keeping me from leaving my computer at home all the time is that the iPhone still doesn't support flash. Dear Apple: please fix this? (Apparently the iPad doesn't support flash, either. )

  • The apps help pass time away when your traveling for a distance, gets boring sometimes so its nice to have something to do! I love the racing apps the best!

  • I could use the shopping app like the textbook thing to try and improve my spring wardrobe! I'm not sure if shopping would be faster or slower with all that extra info ;)

  • this is a crazy awesome phone. i am definitely getting one...ASAP!

  • My cell does short vids but overwrites one if you try to do another one. I wish I had my camera back. Boo on the loser who stole it!!

  • I got a tax refund coming. I might just go to buydotcom and check this out for real!

  • I need to get one of these. Maybe I could stop lugging my laptop around so much?

  • Sweet little piece of technology, this. I want it!
