I live in California and 1610 AM has bad reception because of the mountains and hills and is mostly used to broadcast road closures by the California Transportation Department. however, I can receive the NOAA weather radio broadcast signal and use the NOAA weather radio for weather reports and hazards report instead of 1610 AM.
