I also sprained my ankle skating on new years eve. It didn't even feel like i landed that hard, and I've never sprained my ankle this bad before. It swelled up and now it's all purple and fat. I can walk without too much pain I was planning on working my ankle as soon as i can without going too hard.
My ankle is tilted and i can see the vains of the ankles and my ankle looks like sort of maby bones sticking out im not sure but i have no idea what it is????
@TheLpslover15 You need to see an ortho doc as soon as possible. Bones sticking out when they aren't sticking out on the other ankle is an indication of a fracture. Don't waste time at an ER unless you have bones through the skin and blood.
@mundt53 I just figured out i hear poping noices comming from a hurt ankle im not sure whats happening in there and im stil confused Luckly im gonna try to see a foot doctor if i can :]
Please respond as soon as possible so i know what i can look forward or atlest maby i could figure out whats wrong with it!
@TheLpslover15 Popping noises could be a lot of things...cartilage, strained tendons, ligaments, bones. It would be best to see an ortho doc if you can to make sure you don't have any structural damage. Once you confirm there is no structural damage and have been released to start rehab, you can take a look at my program. hope you get good news and that you aren't out of commission for long.
@mundt53 I got another question what Happens if the ankle looks sorta fat on one area my ankle looks broken idk if it is or not and i cant move it really much:/
Okay so I sprained my ankle about 9 days ago and I've been icing and putting elevation but it still hurts and the swelling is taking forever to go down and home coming is in three days!? What do I do?!:/
okay so I think I sprained my ankle because when I landed my backhand spring it started to hurt and now it's really hard to walk on. Do you think it could be healed by saturday? I have homecoming and we're doing a dance routine. Then the weekend after that I go back to tumbling....
@bellacullen3344 Depends on how bad the sprain is. If you have a grade 1 sprain its very possible for you to be ready for homecoming. If the doc confirms that you don't have a torn ligament (grade 2 or 3 sprain) and you don't have a fracture that is obvious on an x-ray then you can start rehab. First get the swelling down then you can start to restore range of motion and strengthening of your ankle. Give my program a shot. You'll be pleased w/ the results.
I sprained mine during a Taekwondo demonstration. I was doing a jumping side kick, had a good run up and jumped over 5 people who were crouching next to each other. Landed really bad and out of action for quite some time. :(
last year i kept spraining my right ankle and now its fine but on saturday 27th i sprained my left the dotor said i shud be able to walk by 2 september will my ankle get damaged again if i skate on that weekend? i dont want anymore damage to hapen cos i dont want to permantly damage it or have a long term sprain any help on when i can get back skating will be great thanks!
okay i have a serious question...i sprained my ankle and have been out of sports for 2 weeks...then it started feeling better and i gave it a couple days..and just today i went back to sports wich was speed training for football and it didnt really hurt a lot but i felt some tension on it after running for a while...am i supposed to be waiting longer...or taking pain medication for these things because it hasnt gotten messed up more..it just hurt a little after all the running but it's fine now
After having a major sprain about 10 years ago,i sprained mine 2 days ago AGAIN...I remember for years after the first time,i was wobbly as hell nearly blowing it out again several times. This time the pain was just as severe, doubling me over almost to tears with the searing burning pain.I had just come off the ramp(work as a delivery driver)off a trailer, and overstepped off the side of a concrete slab.I hit the ground like i had been caught in the jaw by Brock Lesnar!
I just sprained my ankle really bad. The doctor at the hospital said that if I elevate my ankle and ice it my ankle would heal in two days. This seemed odd since I remember it taking longer than that the last time I sprained it and this video just confirmed my fears. Was he lying to me? I need to know because my job depends on me being on my feet.
@tohrurikku - Lets just say this...the doc was not accurate. I've had more than 30 ankles. None of them healed in 2 days. I've been able to stand and walk within 2 days after a sprain using the program that is mentioned in the video. If you're job depends on you being mobile, you need to take action on getting the swelling down and restoring range of motion, strength and repairing nerve damage.
Should I do the exercise while my ankle is in the ice bath? I heard that in order to make rehabiliation exercise you gotta first heat the ankle to prevent any damage.
had a sprained anke from landing sideways on my foot after a jump. able to walk and run almost a week after. however, i still feel "weak" and it still hurts at certain angles. not fully convinced by this method.
I sprained my right ankle during judo training last week, it was very swollen. I spoke to a physical therapist who gave very similar advice. Thank you.
Great advice! But I was seriously stupid and went back to football (soccer) before the ankle had fully healed. That was about 6 months ago and the ankle still does not feel correct! Do you have any advice for that?
I sprained my ankle about 4.. 5 weeks ago. Skating. I heard and felt a pop. Didnt feel good eaither.. Worst pain is how long I having to stay off of the board.
@MrJwillrocku I just done the same thing 2day heard the pop trying 2 do a board slide went 2 a&e got 3 days of work now my ankle is big az herts whenever i move it
I sprained my ankle and I could feel my foot or stand up for like 5 minutes and 2days later my P.E. Teacher made me run the mile and it started hurting more does that make it worse?
how do i prevent from another sprain happening i sprained mine like 2 days ago and it doesnt hurt anymore but i cant walk yet im afraid of spraining it again after it heals do you know anything i can do to restore its original strength? or do i just exercise with it to restore it?
what if i cant feel the stretch? i feel the stretch in my calfs on my other foot when i do the foot stretch, but the one i sprained cant feel it in my calfs
@RAZORINALOLLIPOP - More than 2,500 people have used this program. Less than 100 have gotten refunds. Most of them were duplicate orders and the balance of them had broken ankles. If it doesn't work for you (which is unlikely) you get 100% of your money back with no hard feelings.
On a serious note ive sprained my left ankle and completely neglected it and now ive sprained my right and im planning on going through with my recovery plan as listed below. Am i fucked?
@psychaospath Yup! Without proper rehab you'll continue to have problems with your ankles. What's worse is that if you don't take care of them, you'll very likely have severe arthritis in your ankles when you're older.
@mundt53 damn i hurt my anke five years in a row. its been 3 week sense my injury it still hurt but slowly gettin better is it to late for me to rehab my ankel?
@Cat6768 - Wow! Five years of sprained ankles. Man - its not too late. If you don't take care of it soon, scar tissue will start to set in and then you're in a downward spiral. You'll get less and less movement because it hurts. The less you move it the more stiffness sets in. This program works. Period. And as long as you don't have torn ligaments you can get results in 7 days or less. If it doesn't work get your money back with no hard feelings.
@mundt53 im happy to say that my ankel is doing alot better but its still some pain when i practice ( i wrestle) i was woundering what type of excercise should i do to negate stiffness cause after i have a hard practice my angle like locks down on me
I sprained my ankle in 2009 and it only took 5 days to heal.I had to hop on 1 foot for 1 and a half days before I borrowed my friends crutches. Then on the 4th day I could walk on it alittle but still kinda hurt, same on the other foot,oh and I forgot!I didnt sprain my ankle I sprained my foot and thats how I could walk on it with my heel. This is good though because I am going into Lacross and I heard people can have ankle spraines so I better watch out!
i fell down some stairs a couple days ago and my ankle really hurts!!!
it is now swelling and i bandaged it but it really hurts when im walking!!
my dad tried to help me by getting a bottle with warm water and rolling it around with the sprained ankle... it reduced the pain but it still hurts...
I had a sprain so bad I couldn't move it at all. Hurt like crap, went for an X-ray and doctor because I thought I broke bones as well (got a direct kick there). Lucky it was only a very bad sprain.
RICE helps, but inadequate. Ice is most important from experience, but is a first aid procedure along with elevation.
I used physical therapy, immediate first aid, NSAIDs, just forcing myself to use it without weight on it and topical medicine. The strengthening was more painful than the sprain.
My friends go for physiotherapy when they have sprains. I just do the stuff they do in the sessions.
I use progressively longer stretches, light exercise without body weight, then toe raises and eventually exercise with body weight. It's all about exercise, which encourages strength growth.
I also kept the ankle supported for a month, because I was told that if I sprain it again soon, it will become a worse sprain and decrease long term strength.
Flexibility takes some time, in my experience, more time than it takes to heal. Because we wrap bandages and pack around the ankle, the sprain takes the form that it was wrapped in.
Let it out and have it stretch regularly, before and after exercise. Take it easy and gently.
i was sliding down a rail on my ass and some little fucking german kid got in the way, so of course i dont want to clock her in the face so i jump off half way down the stairs.
i sprained its at week friday am its doing good i didnt know about your vidoe but from being in martail arts i used my sense and put ice and work on it it still hert but it should be good in a day or 2 i sprained it but doing a gainer full and landing wrong the next day i went to the skating and skated all day un till it pops and i went last night and its doing great guys do this and it will really help nice vid man good luck
I sprained my ankle last monday, its on day 6 right now, i got x rays and they were negative, they diagnosed me with a sprained ankle. Right now i can walk on it about 75%, still have some limping going on but its getting better. Its swollen around the ankle bone and underneath the bone its tight, reallyy tight. Should i strecth that out? i started rehabbing with towel and heel raises yesterday. PLEASE give me some advice, THANK YOU
i jumped off of a ladder and sprained it then few weeks later jumped over a hurdle and did it again i was walking within 5 min but it is still swollen
i was jumping on my trampoline yesterday and heard a loud pop! and now im going to get an x-ray. im following these instructions but the pain was excruciating.bye,= )
Atm, i experience bad pain in my ankle every second, so yeah it is lame. I don't know how i will sleep tonight... btw, at school (physical education) when i rolled my ankle, it had been the first time i had damaged any part of my body, enough to bring full pain. So, i didn't handle it very well, i was feeling faint, due to the fact that i was exhausted from the run. I actually thought for a moment, that i was imagining it all, due to the pain running through my foot. Yeah, so that's my story...
And don't think "omfg that kid is a wimp" because i couldn't walk/put pressure on my right foot, or else it would bring extreme pain to my ankle. I managed to make it to the front office with my friends help though, of course i was experiencing pain at the time. So i basically stayed in the front office for nearly an hour, with a cast around my ankle. Now i can barely walk, so i have to hop on my left leg xD Yeah, i probably wont be going to school for days now, and it was our first day back XD
I got mine in Physical Education at school. We were playing this game where you have a ball, hit it. And you have to run around alot of cones, before the fielders get the ball, line up, and tunnel ball is through there legs and the last person holds it up. So i was running full speed, i was heading through the cones, i landed my foot on a cone, bent my foot back, and did a skid. IT FUCKING KILLED, so a friend helped me go to the front office (so i could get an ice pack).
mine is probably the stupidest on here. i sprained mine and fractured part of my fibula all from sprinting and then running off the track it was horrible all my weight fell on it. now i have some air cast on.
um can anywone help i just spraine dmy ankle on a trampoline and itsswelling up really bad it is as big as a tennis ball t hurts alot and i cant walk at all i need help with it is it sprain or broken and how do i treat it
Hi I found your powerpoint very useful, I only wish I would've looked this up earlier. I hurt my ankle while playing soccer and my ankle hasn't been strong ever since. I thought it was okay so i started playing again.. I hurt it two more times after that.. now it's big and abnormal looking. I can walk and run perfectly fine, my ligament pops quiet frequently though. But what worrys me is that it'll never heal and become the way it use to.. can you help me? If so I appreciate it greatly.
I just sprained mine yesterday playing soccer too. I have the same fear as you of not being able to play again. I was at a point of kicking the ball into the goal, but my right feet landed on top of the ball instead of at it's side. So my full body weight was going straight down, while the ball caused my ankle to turn further inversely. Then I heard that pop, and can't even walk today.
Oh really? Ouch that's unfortunate bud. Yeah what I did is I kicked the ball for a cross but then I slid and my whole body went down on my ankle I also heard the pop and I was in excruciating pain.
That 'pop' you heard is your ligament. DON'T TRY TO PLAY. Go to the doctor and get therapy. This is your best shot to playing football again.
You'll be fine just give your ligament time to heal. This is the mistake I made.
oh my god me too dude..im right now with an air cast. I am a good player and i think i have the potential to become pro one day when my ankle fucked up i thought it was all over...im sitting now here on day 5..things seem to get a little better...I can walk without pain but its very instable and ligaments inside my foot are moving like a rattle toy. Im fucking scared man..
Like Sal said; don't play again until it's fully healed! I'm on day 9, and haven't exercised yet! I was able to walk again on day 4, but I'm playing it safe and not doing anything until day 13. In my case, I have an Army career on the line in December, and they won't accept you if you have any broken bones.
Mine came from soccer to. Yesterday i me and this other place both interlocked feet in at tackle and my ankle turned inversely and i can't walk on it at all.
Don't even TRY to walk on it yet. You should be able to walk on it after 2-4 days, but it would still not be fully healed yet. As long as it hurts when you apply pressure to it, don't play soccer yet!
That's the mistake I made. I waited 2 wks, went camping, went fine, but came back and played 2 heavy games of soccer and now it hurts again. Reason being is because the soccer ball puts so much stress in that area. So as much as you miss it, don't play yet!
hi, could i ask how long would it take for the swelling to reside? its been almost a day now and my ankle is still swollen. how do i know when is it right to begin therapy or icing or should i go to the doctor?
The swelling is there to keep you from harming your ankle anymore. You should ice your ankle everyday for 10 - 15 mins. Then stop for the same amount of time, then continue icing for 10 mins.
Go to the doctor ASAP.
You should do some excercise to help strengthen your damaged ligament give it time to heal.
Hello my friend!I had a ankle sprain,a serious one and my leg is bandaged with plaster...Its the 2nd time that that has happened to me,but the first one was not so serious...Its a 3rd grade sprain...I am a basketball player, will this keep me away from basket ball? And if yes,for how many days?
If you have been casted you're probably looking at 4-6 weeks before the cast comes off. Then you'll have a couple of weeks of rehab. Its kind of unusual to cast an ankle sprain these days. Usually they're putting people in walking boots. Must be a serious sprain. Depending on how long your in the cast, it may take quite a while to strengthen your muscles. Once you get the go ahead to rehab, you're probably looking at 3-4 weeks minimum. You probably have a grade 2 sprain- partial tear of ligament
Sorry about the late reply. I just got the e-mail about your comment.
The answer is that it depends on how bad the injury is. You can tape it up or get a lace up ankle brace with cross straps and you should be good to go. It will probably be a little sore.
If you feel unstable or like you're gonna fall over when you put weight on it, you need to see a doctor. You might have a torn ligament or other damage. Hope this helps.
ok today i jumped down the stairs at school i know stupid idea
well anyway my foot caught the last step and i twisted it idk what to o im supposed to go skateboarding tomorrow and i dont know how to speed it up more
So did the dr tell you what "take care of it right" means?
If you don't do some sort of strengthening you will (no doubt about it) have another sprain and it will be more serious.
When you injured your ankle there was a slight disconnect between your ankle and your brain where your brain doesn't know the exact position your foot is in. This will result in another sprain if you don't get the two connected again.
lol thats exactly how i felt i didnt know what position my ankle was and he told me to keep moving my toes and to keep it leveled to reduce swelling but i had to use a stilt and crutches if i wanted to get up
Depending on how long its been since your injury, you should not be having constant pain while walking. That indicates a more serious injury unless you just sprained your ankle in the last day or so.
Often times it can take several weeks or more for a stress fracture to show up on an x-ray.
It might be a good idea to have a doctor look at it to make sure you don't have torn ligaments or a stress fracture.
Every sprain is different. You might have had a grade 2 sprain which involves structural damage such as partially torn ligaments. It will definitely take months to heal if you don't use the proper rehab methods.
I'm not a big fan of going to the doctor everytime I have an injury but unless you "know" that you have a mild sprain you should not start any rehab program without confirming that you don't have torn ligaments. Rehabbing with torn ligaments only makes things worse.
i sprained my ankle during basketball really bad..they said ill be able to play in 6 to 10 weeks and now i got a cast and gotta walk on crutches and yesterday i was hopping down the stairs and boom i trip and fell on my other ankle and rolled it... it's not nearly as bad but still hurts like a bitch and i gotta go to school and put all my weight on it
why dont you get a wheelchair? it might keep you off your feet i sprained my ankle 2 days ago skateboarding and its allready better just prop your ankle up and sleep after reducing the swelling and walk on it a little bit
There will be some discomfort but it should not be excruciating. You should start rehab as soon as you are certain there is no structural damage. The first thing to do is to reduce the swelling, once the swelling is reduced make sure you protect your ankle with a lace up ankle brace while you rehab it. Then start strengthing it using movements that mimic walking over uneven ground. Doing the alphabet with your toe is a start but at some point you need to add weight. Hope this helps.
out of curiosity. . .why shld i trust this? i can understand the moving part. but this sounds like every other scam. and what if u are constantly twisting and spraining ankles. (like one twist a day?)
cuz i skate most of the day and usually at some point i land wrong
There have been more than 2000 people who've experienced success with the program. Out of those 2000, less than 125 have requested a refund. Many of them could not use the program because of a fracture or torn ligament.
If you are constantly twisting your ankles that means you have never rehabbed them and if you continue to do what you are doing, you will most likely suffer the consequences of scar tissue, restricted movement, arthritis and ligament damage at a young age. 'nuf said?
well u didnt even say what movements that we were to do. and if im constantly twisting them id imagin its cuz i fall on them wrong. and u cant blame me for being skeptical. shit u shld be more worried if i wasnt. i mean if this actually works it would be wonderful and id be oober happy.
I don't blame you for being skeptical because so many people promise things and don't deliver. The movements you need to make with your ankle need to mimic the movements your ankle would make if you were walking over uneven ground. In short, you need to rehab your ankle in 360 degrees.
If you don't you'll feel pain when you move in certain ways. Its too complicated to explain how to do writing. Its like trying to tell someone verbally how to tie their shoes. You must show them how in videos
Did your doctor confirm that you did not have any torn ligaments or fractures?
If you don't have any structural damage to your ankle, then moving it is the start to recovery.
Doctors used to tell people with injuries or who were recovering from surgery NOT to move. Then they found out that not moving prolonged the recovery period.
Make sure that when you start moving your ankle it is in a controlled fashion so you don't injure it further. Take advil for discomfort. Its the safest.
ok... he said it was a completer tear on my tibiofibular ligament, and a slight bone fracture. he tested my ankle strength, told me to push my toes to dif direction while he added pressure. he pressed my ankles and what not. But he told me i didn't need any surgery. and for rehab, i can start when ever im ready. all i have to do is call them and get my referral. im not sure how this works.. complete tear and no surgery?
I don't understand how a completely torn ligament can heal without surgery.
If it was me, I would probably ask the doctor or physical therapist how your ligament is going to heal when its completely torn without surgery.
Sounds kind of funny to me. I've always wanted to know how a person with a complete tear healed without surgery. I always assumed the ligament had to be repaired surgically.
Sorry I can't help you with this. I;m in unchartered territory. Its a very serious injury.
just got back the mri.. its torn. just wondering do i need surgery? it's weird.. i can walk and do calf raises and i thought i was getting better... but then the mri comes and it tells me that somethings torn. im visitng my ortho doc soon. any thing on what to expect? what i should ask?
I twisted my anckle about 2 months ago, after three weeks I came back to playing soccer as usual (I had this before few times) only that this time it does not get batter after a certain point, I cannot sprint and when I go down stairs and lean on my right foot it hurts at the joint. I am not looking for fast healing... healing and play normally again would feel like being born again, would this program help?
in my opinion.... this does work. i've gained flexibility, strength and balance back quicker than i have expected...
to bad i JUST found out its torn... when i think about it, i can do all this and somethings torn inside.(not trying to advertise) or say its thanks to the program, i have to visit the doc first.
Athletic trainers or doctors can do a test called a drawer test. It has to do with the normal "slop" in the ankle joint vs what the "slop" is in an injured ankle. I really hate to tell you this, but often the only way to tell is an MRI or a really sharp doctor who knows what your ligaments are supposed to feel like. If you are uncertain, its worth a trip to the doctor to make sure.
If you can wait until you go full speed, its always better. The program gives people who don't or can't afford to miss something important a chance to do what they want.
Thanks for your positive comment. I'm glad that you had good results.
Are you able to bear your own weight without feeling like you are going to fall over? This is one of the primary symptoms of a severe sprain. If the person can't bear their own weight or the ankle feels unstable there is a good possibility of torn ligaments or other structural damage. You need to confirm from a doctor that you don't have structural damage such as a torn ligament or a fracture before starting to do any activity.
I couldn't bear my weight on it all week, but now it seems better. Swelling is going down after some raised ankle excercises (general moving the ankle joint). Is it possible I have a torn ligament/fracture with these symptoms?
I can bear weight on the ankle from yesterday, 6 days after the sprain..?
just want some feed back please... my ankle bent , id say 180 degrees. my left ankle bent in towards my right foot and touched my calves... of course there was a LOUD pop. i went to the hospital. reluctantly nothing was broken. they said that some thing might be stretched or torn if anything. any ideas? would this work for me? i sprained my ankle 2 days ago.
Sounds like a pretty severe sprain. Can you stand on your foot without feeling unstable?
An orthopedic doctor would be able to tell if you have any structural damage. They will do what sports trainers call a drawer test. It shows how loose your ligaments are and is a good indicator of a grade 2 sprain.
Isn't it great that the hospital takes your money and then doesn't really tell you anything?
In this situation I would get confirmation from a doctor before starting rehab.
i am unstable when i stand on it single legged. i feel pressure and a bit of pain and fear. its gotten better swellings gone down, but not all the way, the bruises still remain... its kinda weird, i press the swelling in and it leaves an imprint. but any way its been about 5-6 days. it's absolutely amazing how much it costs just to hear its not broken...kinda obvious im not in pain.. any way i was wondering should i get it checked up b4 i start the rehab.
Man my crazy ass sprained my ankle playing basketball by falling down on someone else foot! then 4 days later my ankle was fine and I went back playing and sprained it even worse!
To keep from having sprained ankles all your life, you need to rehab your injured ankle. If you are NOT in a hurry to get better there are a bunch of sites that will tell you the old fashioned way to rehab. If you are in a hurry my program will quickly reduce the swelling and let you start strengthening with dramatic results in less than a week.
i have a very mild ankle sprain ,its been a week and it hasn't improved ive already gone through the rice process and sometimes it feels fine but then when i get back on my skateboard and the pain comes back ,im going to the doctor in a couple of days but does anybody have tips to help it heal faster??
this is only good for ppl who dont play sports if u were to sprain ur ankle and it heals in a week u will be able to walk on it and regain ur balance but no way you can run or jump on it trust me i probably sprained my ankle like 4-5 times in the past 3 years it will take days b4 u can walk but weeks b4 u can play sports
I suffered from sprains most of my basketball career. I played NCAA Division 1 basketball and was able to play at a top level 1 week after a major sprain. You obviously have not seen professional athletes who've sprained their ankles return to competition in less than a week. The techniques discussed in the rehab program are some of the same techniques top athletes use to recover from injury fast.
No way this is going to work; after the swelling is gone down it still hurts. so you won't be able to stand of exercise. Maybe this therapy will buy you some time but not as many as said here.
I understand how you feel. I felt the same way until I worked with athletes at the national homeschool basketball tournament who had sprained their ankles. I put them through the exercises that I use to rehab sprained ankles and within 24-36 hours they were able to play...both players told me they had no significant pain and that the injured ankle did not hinder their play in any way and the pain was insignificant.
would this work on an extreme anklre sprain though?
It's been 5 weeks for me and I can now just barely stand on it, would this be something that could help me, I'm supposed to start PT on monday, I have no insurance and it's going to be very expensive =(
It really depends on the severity of the sprain. Every ankle injury is different even with the same person. If your doctor has released you to start rehab then you can use the program. It's guaranteed to work, if it doesn't work for you, you get all of your money back. You should be further along in your recovery than you are unless you suffered torn ligaments.
good video, very helpful if you have an injury and you can relate exactly to what's going on in your body, I guess whom ever hasnt experience such injury would not understand.
This shit effects drummers too... Now I cant play double bass! I just had to slip down those stairs..

okay so I think I sprained my ankle because when I landed my backhand spring it started to hurt and now it's really hard to walk on. Do you think it could be healed by saturday? I have homecoming and we're doing a dance routine. Then the weekend after that I go back to tumbling....
bellacullen3344 3 months ago
@bellacullen3344 Depends on how bad the sprain is. If you have a grade 1 sprain its very possible for you to be ready for homecoming. If the doc confirms that you don't have a torn ligament (grade 2 or 3 sprain) and you don't have a fracture that is obvious on an x-ray then you can start rehab. First get the swelling down then you can start to restore range of motion and strengthening of your ankle. Give my program a shot. You'll be pleased w/ the results.
mundt53 3 months ago
@mundt53 That's the thing though, it isn't swollen....it just hurts when I walk on fully so i walk on my toes

I need to know because my job depends on me being on my feet.
tohrurikku 7 months ago
@tohrurikku - Lets just say this...the doc was not accurate. I've had more than 30 ankles. None of them healed in 2 days. I've been able to stand and walk within 2 days after a sprain using the program that is mentioned in the video. If you're job depends on you being mobile, you need to take action on getting the swelling down and restoring range of motion, strength and repairing nerve damage.

Should I do the exercise while my ankle is in the ice bath? I heard that in order to make rehabiliation exercise you gotta first heat the ankle to prevent any damage.
i would appreciate any answer :o
tadm123 9 months ago
@tadm123 never use heat with an ankle sprain. Ice is the preferred method used by athletic trainers. Heat is typically only used for muscle strains.

I don't really understand this method or at least be convinced.

psychaospath 1 year ago
@psychaospath Yup! Without proper rehab you'll continue to have problems with your ankles. What's worse is that if you don't take care of them, you'll very likely have severe arthritis in your ankles when you're older.

@mundt53 damn i hurt my anke five years in a row. its been 3 week sense my injury it still hurt but slowly gettin better is it to late for me to rehab my ankel?
Cat6768 1 year ago
@Cat6768 - Wow! Five years of sprained ankles. Man - its not too late. If you don't take care of it soon, scar tissue will start to set in and then you're in a downward spiral. You'll get less and less movement because it hurts. The less you move it the more stiffness sets in. This program works. Period. And as long as you don't have torn ligaments you can get results in 7 days or less. If it doesn't work get your money back with no hard feelings.

The strengthening was more painful than the sprain.

hey i sprained mine too.. a month ago.. it is not that strong now.. and not flexible..can you help me?
bboyken08 1 year ago
My friends go for physiotherapy when they have sprains. I just do the stuff they do in the sessions.
I use progressively longer stretches, light exercise without body weight, then toe raises and eventually exercise with body weight. It's all about exercise, which encourages strength growth.
I also kept the ankle supported for a month, because I was told that if I sprain it again soon, it will become a worse sprain and decrease long term strength.
soccom8341576 1 year ago
@soccom8341576
really? ok i will ust exercise my ankle.. is your ankle ok now?
bboyken08 1 year ago
As good as ever, if not tougher than before.
Just take it steady, keep working it, be happy and your body will heal itself.
soccom8341576 1 year ago
ok i will just exercise my ankle.. tnx man.. but my ankle is not flexible than it is not sprained.. what will i do to get it back to flexible?
bboyken08 1 year ago
Flexibility takes some time, in my experience, more time than it takes to heal. Because we wrap bandages and pack around the ankle, the sprain takes the form that it was wrapped in.
Let it out and have it stretch regularly, before and after exercise. Take it easy and gently.

XXXMASTERISEXXX 2 years ago
And don't think "omfg that kid is a wimp" because i couldn't walk/put pressure on my right foot, or else it would bring extreme pain to my ankle. I managed to make it to the front office with my friends help though, of course i was experiencing pain at the time. So i basically stayed in the front office for nearly an hour, with a cast around my ankle. Now i can barely walk, so i have to hop on my left leg xD Yeah, i probably wont be going to school for days now, and it was our first day back XD
XXXMASTERISEXXX 2 years ago
I got mine in Physical Education at school. We were playing this game where you have a ball, hit it. And you have to run around alot of cones, before the fielders get the ball, line up, and tunnel ball is through there legs and the last person holds it up. So i was running full speed, i was heading through the cones, i landed my foot on a cone, bent my foot back, and did a skid. IT FUCKING KILLED, so a friend helped me go to the front office (so i could get an ice pack).

Then I heard that pop, and can't even walk today.
vi3tb0y04 2 years ago
This is the mistake I made.
salcal522 2 years ago

GenCollado 2 years ago
Like Sal said; don't play again until it's fully healed! I'm on day 9, and haven't exercised yet! I was able to walk again on day 4, but I'm playing it safe and not doing anything until day 13. In my case, I have an Army career on the line in December, and they won't accept you if you have any broken bones.
vi3tb0y04 2 years ago
Mine came from soccer to. Yesterday i me and this other place both interlocked feet in at tackle and my ankle turned inversely and i can't walk on it at all.
sweet150 2 years ago
yours turned inversely just like mine.
So as much as you miss it, don't play yet!
vi3tb0y04 2 years ago
hi, could i ask how long would it take for the swelling to reside? its been almost a day now and my ankle is still swollen. how do i know when is it right to begin therapy or icing or should i go to the doctor?
ashrafnk 3 years ago
The swelling is there to keep you from harming your ankle anymore. You should ice your ankle everyday for 10 - 15 mins. Then stop for the same amount of time, then continue icing for 10 mins.
Go to the doctor ASAP.
You should do some excercise to help strengthen your damaged ligament give it time to heal.
salcal522 2 years ago
Hello my friend!I had a ankle sprain,a serious one and my leg is bandaged with plaster...Its the 2nd time that that has happened to me,but the first one was not so serious...Its a 3rd grade sprain...I am a basketball player, will this keep me away from basket ball? And if yes,for how many days?
Sezmonz 3 years ago
If you have been casted you're probably looking at 4-6 weeks before the cast comes off. Then you'll have a couple of weeks of rehab. Its kind of unusual to cast an ankle sprain these days. Usually they're putting people in walking boots. Must be a serious sprain. Depending on how long your in the cast, it may take quite a while to strengthen your muscles. Once you get the go ahead to rehab, you're probably looking at 3-4 weeks minimum. You probably have a grade 2 sprain- partial tear of ligament
fastrehab53 3 years ago
Sorry about the late reply. I just got the e-mail about your comment.
The answer is that it depends on how bad the injury is. You can tape it up or get a lace up ankle brace with cross straps and you should be good to go. It will probably be a little sore.
If you feel unstable or like you're gonna fall over when you put weight on it, you need to see a doctor. You might have a torn ligament or other damage. Hope this helps.

doc told me i can be walking and running in a couple days if i take care of it right
eliasthesportsfan 3 years ago
So did the dr tell you what "take care of it right" means?
If you don't do some sort of strengthening you will (no doubt about it) have another sprain and it will be more serious.
When you injured your ankle there was a slight disconnect between your ankle and your brain where your brain doesn't know the exact position your foot is in. This will result in another sprain if you don't get the two connected again.
mundt53 3 years ago
lol thats exactly how i felt i didnt know what position my ankle was and he told me to keep moving my toes and to keep it leveled to reduce swelling but i had to use a stilt and crutches if i wanted to get up
eliasthesportsfan 3 years ago
constant pain when walking :S
owen564 3 years ago
Depending on how long its been since your injury, you should not be having constant pain while walking. That indicates a more serious injury unless you just sprained your ankle in the last day or so.
Often times it can take several weeks or more for a stress fracture to show up on an x-ray.
It might be a good idea to have a doctor look at it to make sure you don't have torn ligaments or a stress fracture.
mundt53 3 years ago
i sprained my ankle and i wernt even fully fit for up 2 12weeks
owen564 3 years ago
I did most of this stuff, and it took MONTHS before I could walk on it normally.
WINNONAAA 3 years ago
Every sprain is different. You might have had a grade 2 sprain which involves structural damage such as partially torn ligaments. It will definitely take months to heal if you don't use the proper rehab methods.
I'm not a big fan of going to the doctor everytime I have an injury but unless you "know" that you have a mild sprain you should not start any rehab program without confirming that you don't have torn ligaments. Rehabbing with torn ligaments only makes things worse.
mundt53 3 years ago

why dont you get a wheelchair? it might keep you off your feet i sprained my ankle 2 days ago skateboarding and its allready better just prop your ankle up and sleep after reducing the swelling and walk on it a little bit
screwyouthatwasfunny 3 years ago
um when do i start rehab? and is it suppose to hurt abit while doing rehab?
coolshadow93 3 years ago
There will be some discomfort but it should not be excruciating. You should start rehab as soon as you are certain there is no structural damage. The first thing to do is to reduce the swelling, once the swelling is reduced make sure you protect your ankle with a lace up ankle brace while you rehab it. Then start strengthing it using movements that mimic walking over uneven ground. Doing the alphabet with your toe is a start but at some point you need to add weight. Hope this helps.

If you didn't know you injured your ankle in the first place you didn't sprain it badly at all obviously its gonna heal in less than a week
spncer1 3 years ago
IF your ankle heals in a week without you doing anything, it probably wasn't really a sprained ankle. More than likely just a strain.
Before I discovered this program I followed your line of thinking and it resulted in loose ankles and more sprains.
Its best to rehab every injury no matter how bad it is or you will be having that injury again later and it will be much worse.
mundt53 3 years ago
out of curiosity. . .why shld i trust this? i can understand the moving part. but this sounds like every other scam. and what if u are constantly twisting and spraining ankles. (like one twist a day?)
cuz i skate most of the day and usually at some point i land wrong
armoredchicken 3 years ago
There have been more than 2000 people who've experienced success with the program. Out of those 2000, less than 125 have requested a refund. Many of them could not use the program because of a fracture or torn ligament.
If you are constantly twisting your ankles that means you have never rehabbed them and if you continue to do what you are doing, you will most likely suffer the consequences of scar tissue, restricted movement, arthritis and ligament damage at a young age. 'nuf said?
mundt53 3 years ago
well u didnt even say what movements that we were to do. and if im constantly twisting them id imagin its cuz i fall on them wrong. and u cant blame me for being skeptical. shit u shld be more worried if i wasnt. i mean if this actually works it would be wonderful and id be oober happy.
armoredchicken 3 years ago
I don't blame you for being skeptical because so many people promise things and don't deliver. The movements you need to make with your ankle need to mimic the movements your ankle would make if you were walking over uneven ground. In short, you need to rehab your ankle in 360 degrees.
If you don't you'll feel pain when you move in certain ways. Its too complicated to explain how to do writing. Its like trying to tell someone verbally how to tie their shoes. You must show them how in videos
mundt53 3 years ago
My doctor didn't say anything about the RICE.
Oneinchpencil 3 years ago
Did your doctor confirm that you did not have any torn ligaments or fractures?
If you don't have any structural damage to your ankle, then moving it is the start to recovery.
Doctors used to tell people with injuries or who were recovering from surgery NOT to move. Then they found out that not moving prolonged the recovery period.
Make sure that when you start moving your ankle it is in a controlled fashion so you don't injure it further. Take advil for discomfort. Its the safest.

How should I start moving it though?
Alphabets?
What do you suggest?

Alright, my doctor told me that I should move my around. Should I?
It really hurts.

ok... he said it was a completer tear on my tibiofibular ligament, and a slight bone fracture. he tested my ankle strength, told me to push my toes to dif direction while he added pressure. he pressed my ankles and what not.

Its a very serious injury.

just got back the mri.. its torn. just wondering do i need surgery? it's weird.. i can walk and do calf raises and i thought i was getting better... but then the mri comes and it tells me that somethings torn. im visitng my ortho doc soon. any thing on what to expect? what i should ask?
appleseed101 3 years ago
Your ortho will tell you if you need surgery.
One of the questions that I would ask is how bad is it torn? Is it completely torn?
A partial tear will probably not require surgery.
I would ask the ortho doc how long he realistically expects it will take to get ready for rehab.
What he tells you will probably be based on your age and situation.
Make sure you let him know that you want to do whatever is necessary to get better as fast as possible.
Let me know how it goes.

Halcon14 3 years ago
in my opinion.... this does work. i've gained flexibility, strength and balance back quicker than i have expected...
to bad i JUST found out its torn... when i think about it, i can do all this and somethings torn inside.(not trying to advertise) or say its thanks to the program, i have to visit the doc first.
appleseed101 3 years ago
how can u tell if it's torn?
appleseed101 3 years ago
Athletic trainers or doctors can do a test called a drawer test. It has to do with the normal "slop" in the ankle joint vs what the "slop" is in an injured ankle. I really hate to tell you this, but often the only way to tell is an MRI or a really sharp doctor who knows what your ligaments are supposed to feel like. If you are uncertain, its worth a trip to the doctor to make sure.

Your method really works...it took a week but i'm fine again...I'm going to chill out a bit more though before i play again.
Mayweather0 3 years ago
If you can wait until you go full speed, its always better. The program gives people who don't or can't afford to miss something important a chance to do what they want.
Thanks for your positive comment. I'm glad that you had good results.

Are you able to bear your own weight without feeling like you are going to fall over? This is one of the primary symptoms of a severe sprain. If the person can't bear their own weight or the ankle feels unstable there is a good possibility of torn ligaments or other structural damage. You need to confirm from a doctor that you don't have structural damage such as a torn ligament or a fracture before starting to do any activity.
mundt53 3 years ago
I couldn't bear my weight on it all week, but now it seems better. Swelling is going down after some raised ankle excercises (general moving the ankle joint). Is it possible I have a torn ligament/fracture with these symptoms?
I can bear weight on the ankle from yesterday, 6 days after the sprain..?

just want some feed back please... my ankle bent , id say 180 degrees. my left ankle bent in towards my right foot and touched my calves... of course there was a LOUD pop. i went to the hospital. reluctantly nothing was broken. they said that some thing might be stretched or torn if anything. any ideas? would this work for me? i sprained my ankle 2 days ago.
appleseed101 3 years ago

Mayweather0 3 years ago

The techniques discussed in the rehab program are some of the same techniques top athletes use to recover from injury fast.

goddd! man i sprained my ankle today man, its swallon like a ballon but i can still walk, lol more like limp.
DCsk8ter4 3 years ago
No way this is going to work; after the swelling is gone down it still hurts. so you won't be able to stand of exercise. Maybe this therapy will buy you some time but not as many as said here.
Pultijger 3 years ago
I understand how you feel. I felt the same way until I worked with athletes at the national homeschool basketball tournament who had sprained their ankles. I put them through the exercises that I use to rehab sprained ankles and within 24-36 hours they were able to play...both players told me they had no significant pain and that the injured ankle did not hinder their play in any way and the pain was insignificant.
mundt53 3 years ago
would this work on an extreme anklre sprain though?
It's been 5 weeks for me and I can now just barely stand on it, would this be something that could help me, I'm supposed to start PT on monday, I have no insurance and it's going to be very expensive =(
ThatGuyfromChitown 3 years ago
It really depends on the severity of the sprain. Every ankle injury is different even with the same person. If your doctor has released you to start rehab then you can use the program. It's guaranteed to work, if it doesn't work for you, you get all of your money back. You should be further along in your recovery than you are unless you suffered torn ligaments.

good video, very helpful if you have an injury and you can relate exactly to what's going on in your body, I guess whom ever hasnt experience such injury would not understand.

I really liked this video. Thanks for taking the time to make it!
I just wish I had seen it when I first hurt my ankle.
