  • Emma, Jane and George are so kind !

  • I think this handshake dance thing looks really comical

  • God miss bates would drive me insane !

  • Mrs Weston's condition? Baby?

  • OMG! Does Mrs. Elton EVER stop talking?

  • LMAO @ John!!

  • The way Knightley looks at Emma at 9:41 and then again at 9:49 makes me melt.

  • @Katiekinsism the best one is the smile right at the end of the video... AWWWW!! <3

  • someone give Mrs E a big PUNCH on the nose and break it!!!!

  • Haha i swear when they're in the company of Mrs. Elton it lookz like their frowning :P

  • lol at the very end XD

  • I SO LOVE THE WESTONS. Mrs Weston is so elegant and expressive and Mr Weston is adorable. :))

  • emma's nanny was glowing in her beautiful dark red gown and golden necklace, love her complexion its beautiuful.

  • Why was George Knightley not at the dinner?

  • Damn, Jane.

  • ı like john too

  • I'm loving Ms. Fiarfax.

    Prettiest woman ever!

  • I must confess that i wish that MRs. elton would shut the heck up

  • I cannot thank you enough for puttng these up! I am a huge fan of Emma and the whole cast -- and MR KNIGHTLEY in particular. I have always loved the Gwyneth Paltrow/Jeremy Northam version, but on the other hand, this is straight up, undeniable brilliance. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

  • i love that look knightley gives emma during the dance

  • Haha. Oh Mrs Elton...was Clarissa in What A Girl Wants. Hahaha.

  • For an age that so heavily counted upon decorum and etiquettes, that dance seems somewhat tribal

  • "it's fairyland...it's nothing less than FAIRYLAND!!!" Oh Ms Bates... LOL!

  • knightly looks so sweet when hes watching emma dance :) jealousy is so becoming on him

  • emma is so rich but has only a RED dress for all the parties?

  • omg Emma's father is the actor who plays Dumbledore

  • "Remember that the people of Highbury are not as...sophisticated as you" -- gah, the Eltons are such prats, in the book and the adaptation(s).

  • Mrs. Elton is a pushy loudmouth, especially vulgar by 18th century standards of etiquette! Even meek Jane tells her to mind her own business when Mrs. Elton says she'll find a governess position for her.

  • @mannixisle : and the fashions she wears by today's standards would be the equivalent of the meat dress of Lady Gaga's!: feathers and flowers and ringlets! It's cute to look at, but I'm sure abominable in polite company.

  • i love john!! i loved his comment- why on earth did u invite her, if you cnt stand the women !! hhhaaaaa :P

  • i love john!! i loved his comment- why on earth did u invite her, if you cnt stand the women !! hhhaaaaa :P

  • 2:00 "Please...BE agreeable." [Astonished voive] "When am I not?"

  • I have to say, dinner parties look like trials. Nothing more interesting than the usual food, and you have to invite people you don't like out of social propriety, whereas if you're just having plain dinner, you can invite whomever you so choose. :P

  • Mrs. Elton is such a bitch

  • Oh so agreed! That Mrs. Elton is such a wretched little snipe! Is she not?

  • I love this adaptation b/c you actually get to see Knightley's feelings for Emma! In this part, you can actually see him falling for her and his insecurities with Frank. This is so good! Plus, I love the guy who plays Knightley he's such a good actor!!!

  • @manicoco18 u know comments like this make watching even more enjoyable

  • @manicoco18 He was really good in Mansfield Park too.

  • @Eizara Yes. He really was--I wish he did more periodic dramas b/c he really looks the part too. :)

  • why arent mrs. knightley or mr. knightley there at the dinner party??

  • what a bitch! good actress but bitchy character. mrs.elton is wow...

  • I saw her in Jane Eyre. Seeing her a second time makes me really sit up and take notice of her commendable acting. Although one wonders if she is being stereotyped as an actress, she is always playing the stuck up gentlewoman.

  • I think she probably just really enjoys playing these parts :D

  • Why was (Emma's) Mr. Knightley not at the dinner for Mrs. Elton?

  • Oh my...was 8:45 the first hint that Mrs. Weston is pregnant?! Shocking! Hehehe

  • Christina Cole (Mrs. Elton) was also in a mini-series called "He Knew He Was Right" and in the Shakespeare episode of "Doctor Who" as the witch with the red hair. She played another bitchy role in a great film called "Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day". Definitely check it out. It's brilliant.

  • HA "I don't like her at all".

  • Mr. Knightley is so dreamy !

  • Userone1000: I agreee with your comment about Ms. Paltrow's age and the look of this Emma. What strikes me most of all about this version was the underscoring of Emma's lack of experience in the world outside of Highburry. It helps to show that despite money and privilidge she her mind has not been broadend by travel and esposure.

  • I like this Emma...she is young looking...like she ought to be. Gwyneth never looked like she was 21y.o. to me. Also she has big wide eyes which i find endearing.

  • Emma, not Jane

  • Comment removed

  • yes it is Jane Fairfax not emma ..

  • GO JANE! I love how she refused Mrs. Elton's request about the mail and the governess ideas. I'm glad Emma steps in to help Jane. Mrs. Elton in this version is so annoying and too nosy.

  • I totally agree!!!!

  • @MusicalMaiden92

I find Mrs Elton annoying in all versions!!!

  • i'm loving John in this version. he has a fantastic and sarcastic personality...i think he's the subtle comic relief or something.

and Jane is quite feisty, love her "excuse me" to Mrs. Elton. very cool. (if you watch closely, there are a lot of hints to the secret relationship between Jane and ---- (for those who know). thanks for the upload!

  • totally agree, john knightley is ace in this adaptation!

  • The actor plays Colin Firth's brother (traitor) in Love Actually

  • Comment removed

  • @coollady6 I agree completely! John's winks and smirks are absolutely perfect...ahhhh...

  • @coollady6 thank you for not spoiling it. mwah!

  • The actress playing Mrs. Elston is the same one that played Blanche in the 2006 Masterpiece Theatre's Jane Eyre.

  • Yep. She's also Caroline Bingley in Lost in Austen, if i'm not mistake! She's done quite a few adaptions of Austen!

  • She also plays the annoying potential step-sister of Amanda Bynes in What a Girl Wants. The pool of talented British actors/actresses is kind of limited I guess. haha

  • Lol I remember her in that too! For some reason she's always playing the bitchy character too...haha.

  • wen wil ep.3 (4,5,6/6) an ep. 4 b uploaded???
