Negative, they are still drag tires, just street legal, which is why their called "drag radials"..street legal drag tires. Say, PS2's are street tires.
Any tyre that can be legally driven on the street are "street tyres" as per the class you would enter at a drag event. In the same class you could be racing against someone running a set of Maxxis's whether you have "drag radials" or not because both tyres are still of the 'Street Legal Class'. Its the same as running street legal tyres in circuit racing, some are obviously better than others but are still refferred to as "Street tyres" when going through scruitineering.
I suppose its just a difference in our views lol. People around here see street tires as true street tires. Not soft walled sticky tires built for drag that happen to be street legal as well. I'm not disputing the fact that their street legal don't get me wrong. Though I do see what your saying, but do you see my side.
Absolutely, from a scruitineer's perspective, a car running a set of Maxxis everyday tyres and a car running a set of Nitto NT555R drag radials will both run in the 'street class'. However, if you wanted to run a set of Mickey T's for instance, you would more than likely be in the 'Open' category.
The term 'Street tyres' is given to any tyres that can be legaly used on the road, a term that we use to be able to determine if a car can be run in the 'Street class' or has to run in 'Open' class.

@jasaircraft This had an OSGIKEN RB30 in it, from memory it had 2 HKS 3037S Turbo's, so you would be looking at around 600hp at least.
