  • Great job, love to watch your vids on youtube.

They are a great help for me thanx.

  • nice mixer got the same 1 my self

  • great job! your videos helps alot. thx!

  • this type of stuff is cake if you have CDJs.

  • lol damn right

  • I love you videos. They've helped me greatly! I'm a music teacher and director at a school in Cali. Something that might help when imagining the space in between the 4 counts is to say out loud "1 And 2 And 3 And 4And" This is called subdividing. In most House music and Techno each number is said with the bass kick and the word "and" is said with the hi hat. This shows you where the halfway mark is in between the bass drum beat. Hope this helps some poeple.

  • very good man super mec tu explique bien je suis fan de tua

  • pro.

  • all of your videos are helpful and great!

    thanks much

  • nice job

  • Awesome Tutorial Jonathan Keep it up!.

  • hehei n a club last week the dj was going totally NUTS on the cue button like that. it was a tiny "tick" sort of noise. sounded pretty good. almost like someone was hitting a drum stick all over the place

  • great vid j..what camera do you use?

  • to DJTGM, its a canon md101, looks good today, but sometimes it looks rough, could be , light or youtube compressing the video/s too much? j

  • is there an audio input on it? cheers

  • to DJTGM, yes , you get a mic in , this is needed for good audio from the mixer , so you go out of the booth or rec and into the mic in via a rca to mini jack lead. j

  • like when i make a choon iv it was a 4 beat like trance i would put a hiat inbetween the beats and further on into the track i would put a hiat on the beats aswell then take the hiats away when the bass kicks in u do exsactly the same with the bassline stickit inbetween the beats especially with hardhouse thats how its made with a hiats and bassline inbetween the beats or on the beats and inbetween i prefer some oldschool jungle with shitloads ov kicks and snares goin mad allover the place

  • Agreed on 'hihats' point. 'ellaskins' uses a Kick, I've always felt on other vids (and this one too) his using a Kick for this technique sounds dreadfully cumbersome and awkward. I cue hihats, or sampled soundbite hits if I use this technique. With all respect, it sounds less amateurish, "dodgy", imho. As for the rest of your comment: "mad allover"!!! xxJ

  • it sounds really good in the mix with a little addition of jet effect.

  • 1st comment woo!

  • we wait for your first useful comment.

To Johnathan: interesting idea! you have to do it correct though, and it might not work with every type of music.

  • fato: 'ssShaunW1', orsum comment, USA ROCKS !!! xxJ
