@cirrus216 Do you know how many were built? Last time I looked (Oct 2006) , The Marina was the rarest production car left with only 745 out of 800 000 remaining. The Oxford/Cambridge wasn't listed. What's the difference between the two. Was the Cambridge/ Oxford used as a taxi when new? I was told the Oxford was a common taxi car in the sixties and early seventies. Love these old cars. They have style and appeal, unlike modern rubbish. Long live these classics.
what kind of money would a really top notch one of these cars go for ,as i am giving serious consideration to getting rid of my modern Mercedes and buying one of these as an every day car
Top notch 4 cylinder Farina is going be probably £2500 upwards. I've seen a MG Magnette go for over £10,000 so the skies your limit! 6 cylinder ones (Westminster etc) are even more. Good luck.
Brilliant to see some of the cars that i can just remember when i was a boy . Although my favourite was the austin 2200 land crab due to my dad having one .
i loved that video iv just bourt a morris oxford vi 1969 bottle green 1622 two tow my classic 1968 carlight caravaN BEFORE THE OXFORD I HAD A MORRIS MINOR AND THAT WAS NO WERE NEAR AS GOOD TOO DRIVE OR TWO HANDLE AS THE OXFORD BEATS IT BY A LONG WAY
Great vid, Fantastic cars!! Many happy memories of CAO657B a Trafalgar Blue/OEW Oxford & camping holidays in Scotland in 1967-69. Am now thinking a "Farina" would compiment my MG & my P6 2200TC.... Chaps you've planted a seed....
A cracking video - god how I wish I could have been there to see all those Farinas! It looked like real good fun and looking forward to seeing more of your vids soon.

There was no synchromesh on 1st gear. How many Cabridges/ Oxfords are left?
1100HondaCB 1 year ago
@1100HondaCB
Reckon about 300 MOT'd ones? Plus a few scrappers awaiting their fate on the oval.......................

Really enjoyed that. Last one I had was a 1971 A55 van column change. Would love another B Series engined vehicle.

my dad had an A60 when i was a nipper. Hearing that 1st gear whine a 58 sec just brought back memories. great to see so many farinas in this vid
saintockwell79 2 years ago
Yeah the old first gear whine is very BMC. I've put several vids with A60's / Oxford's on - one has got the Morris Oxfrd with column change too.

We'll be doing another road run with these cars - maybe a few more from Cambridge to Oxford on 31st May 2009. Video of course to follow soon after.

do you know of any road runs from london to brighton coming up?
tammym45 2 years ago
Only London-Brighton run I know about is veteran (pre1906) run in early November. We did Cambridge - Oxford this year instead.

A proper car, one of the first cars I ever drove. They were superb, those, the Mark 1 Granada and Mark 4 & 5 Cortinas are my all time favourite cars
