Hey man. I have a 426 hemi out of a 69 charger sitting in a dump truck at my grandfathers....I know a dump truck. Anyways I am looking into giving it a new home in a mopar and found a few early 70's duster for a pretty good price. Are parts hard to find and are they cheap? I dont want to buy one and get in over my head.
hey man i got some questions im only 16 i have a love for muscle cars (mainly anything mopar) i wanna get into building muscle cars and own my own shop some day any advice?
@MiddleMadMen My advice to you, is to pursue your dream, but go as far as you can with your education. Choose a career that you will enjoy, because you will be doing it for a long time. If you can make a decent living from it, all the better.
@MiddleMadMen im in the same car man.. 17 years old and im already in college for mechanics.. tomorrow im buyin my first classic.. 1970 plymouth duster 440.. just wait for the oportune car and it will come trust me
Thanks for all of the positive comments! To answer some questions, the Duster has a pair of Quick Fuel blower Dominators. The color is 1976 Corvette Yellow. Before I sold the car, I repainted it black with purple ghost factory style side stripes. See what it looks like now at hemiduster(dot)com
I painted a Ford Courier pickup truck in tent like that one time...yellow. Hats off to you, thats awesome that you got that thing in that good of shape with where you had to work at.
man, my neighbor has the same engine in his 74 challenger. He has over 50,000 in that car. Whats the horsepower in that thing? And i like how you made the console for the shifter. Im looking to make one for my 66 chevelle.
this gives me an unimaginable ammount of motivation to get my 74 duster off of the farm it's on, i mean HOLY CRAP, my car's got a ton of potential if i can put a 528 cubic inch hemi in the thing
sweet car love the on the 7th day god created the hemi. NICE dude and the fear this diamler sign thats sweet dude. congradulations not many can say they built a car that badass and did most or all the work to it
@hicktown13...Fortunately it was only Chrysler Corporation who originally built this car. Diamler hadn't stuck their finger in the "Chrysler jar" just yet back then. I agree though, the Pentastar w/ "Fear This" is ridiculously awesome. I watch this video on a daily basis lol. It's got 2 of the best things combined : Metallica and Mopar.
LOL. Hey everyone.....meet my friend Hemi Fred, the proud new owner of this Duster! I sold it to Fred last spring. He's been putting lots of street miles on it. Hey Fred, the world is still waiting for that 8 second pass!!
Thanks to all for the positive comments! Update: I re-painted my Duster black, with purple ghost side stripes. To see what it looks like now, visit my website hemiduster (dot)com
