  • It's good and right on. However, for one with ADD it's too long. I got half way through and remember I had to go fix a crack in the plaster.

  • i can relate lots of this. but i never thought that i could possibly have add.

    /facepalm

  • hahah lol "maybe im an alien"

    "laughs, thats always possible"

  • I too ohave ADD... I wouldn't trade it for all hte money or treatment in the world..it ha smade me a betterperson who has compassion for others and a true heart... Be thankful for your "gift"

  • hello! i really really like the way you put it down, it makes me laugh out loud and cry at the same time, cause it's so recognisable! thank you and hope you can cope with all the unfinished projects. it's ok to have things unfinished. we just have a different mechanism in our head which makes it ok.

  • does anybody know how to stop that head pain when the ritlan turns off :( ??????

  • fucking comment posting is bugged or something

sometimes it works and sometimes its doesn't -_-

  • why i cant fucking post a comment

  • Comment removed

  • Please watch the shorter version with the epilogue. The part that you saw was mostly about the silliness a person with ADD goes through on a daily basis.

I hope that you have supportive parents... One can and should learn how to deal with the problems that ADD causes. I learned how to early in my life and have probably accomplished more in my life to be proud of so far than most people inhabiting this planet. And I am not rich, nor famous, just very productive.

    Keep in touch :-)

  • I no what you meen... it's terrible

  • @lovekissgr I have ADD & I don't have to be watched everywhere. And what's wrong with being different? I am very unique, mainly in ways irrelevant to my ADD, and I'm proud to be. I was diagnosed a few months ago, after a long, thorough testing process. I began treatment last week. At first I didn't like the idea of ADD. I mean, who wants a disorder? So I looked past the name and I was able to accept the idea. I even grew to like it! ADD has good & bad aspects. It's part of me, but not all of me.

  • I have ADD.., that is of course not the same as AD/HD. :) Peace

  • AD/HD is the new label. ADD is part of that.

  • ADD is attention deficit disorder without hyper activity. AD/ HD is attention deficit disorder WITH hyperactivity.

  • Thank you filmFlicka, Never saw I a video I can relate so much to. I want to ask if i can get a copy of it to play in my classroom?

I personaly got diagnost with serious add. If you believed the Psyco uncle/aunt. It was likely that i will do selfmedication and become addicted to drugs. I still did not allow them to "Help me". I still make a good life so far. PS: sorry for my medium sad english. Isn't my native language.

  • Thanks, GoKartHero... Unfortunately, it was originally taped on VHS, so the quality of any 3 generation loss copy wouldn't be very good. Also, it would take a lot of work, even then, to make a DVD of it.

Please remember that ADD is not a disorder, but a different perception and it's hereditary. 50% of the offsprin of two parents, one of them with AD/HD will have it, so the future of this planet will one day all be AD/HD. I consider it a gift. One just has to learn how to live with it.

  • 25:45 piano melody nice piece.

does any body know the name of the piece.

    thanks

  • Thanks, KALIKATURA1 :-)

The name of the piece at 25:45 is 'Strangers', and was written and performed by me. It also has lyrics, but I don't have a recording of that yet.

  • this is probably a stupid question, but do you main sharing that piece so i could learn it or mp3 to listen to it. if you cant i understand.

    thanks

  • She won't mind sharing it at all right after she gets that record contract she's waiting for ;-)

  • PS: It's actually called 'Forever Strangers'. It's been awhile ;-)

  • where is the commerical for ADD where they sang the chorus from keep ya head up

  • It isn't a "disorder" it is a gift! Use it wisely! We are the chosen ones! (the last one was a joke)

  • We are the future! AD/HD is totally hereditary. Of two parents, one with ADD, 2 of their 4 offspring will have ADD. Not too far in the future, most of the population of this planet will have it. So 'it' will be the norm!

  • THanks for the video. I laughed when I saw the sink full of dishes. I can relate. Interesting video.

  • ur hot

  • and it's all out of order...

    whatever...

  • Nothing is a 'disorder'. Society makes it as so because not enough people understand what it is. I think it's our surroundings that determine who we are.

I don't know why I wrote so much somehow I felt like this needed to be said

  • Actually its been scientifically proven that kids with ADD have more/faster brain waves your brain is wired different and it takes more energy to focus on one thing than to multitask on a lot.

  • By the way your therapist is laughably bad

"Maybe I'm an alien from another planet?" (said sarcastically)

"Well, that's always possible." (Not understanding that your being sarcastic, but thinking your serious) - or maybe she's just crazy and believes in that sort of thing - who knows

She doesn't even know you. Don't take her word for who you are.

  • smoking weed helps us to see the detail in our lives. how we act, how we think, how we listen, how we interpret the conversations that we hear everyday. it allows us to think. it is not a bad drug and can help us all understand who we are. don't take my word for it, see for yourself

  • it helps me

  • (continued from bottom) The other person who posted about what helps him (when he mentioned cannibus) said it because he has it. smoke some cannibus and tell me if it helps you focus. it has been a while as you stated you may not remember exactly what it was like. We could talk more about this I'm very interested in what you have to say!

  • you may not have ADD.

i think from time to time i may have ADD. i am multitalented. i always want something new. many many people are misdiagnosed. and you are wrong about cannabis making ADD people hyper. Cannabis actually helps ADD people by allowing them to focus on what they are doing. This is true in my case, and many of my friends with ADD. (continued)

  • Thank you for this video. I, at 35, have just been diagnosed with ADD and I can relate all too well to this video.

  • Thanks, Sparxe... I was diagnosed as an adult as well. Good thing that I didn't grow up taking Ritalin. I know several people who are now empty inside due to being diagnosed 30 years ago and forced to behave with Ritalin!

I hope that you're doing well!

  • I couldn't sleep at all last night. too many things fillin my head. oh.. I am a multi artist too. I paint, sculpt, make jewelry. play music allthough I don't know how, I play a keyboard by ear. I cant sing tho. has it caused any relationship problems? mine sure has.. infact.. one right now.. im married and have a 2 yr old.

  • Hi aussiegirl24...I'm in the middle of a film shoot, so haven't had time to respond. I don't know where or how i create with any of my talents either. They are just there, and I use them :-) Yes, ADD can cause relationship problems like any 'different perception' can if the partner doesn't understand. I've been separated from my ex for 7 years and my present relationship is up and down a lot! Do you think that your 2 year old may have ADD? It's hereditary.

  • I'm not sure if she does or not. She seems pretty focused. I'm not sure how to tell in a 2 yr old. She learns really easy and quick.

  • Hi aussiegirl24... Although AD/HD is still considered a learning 'disability' it's actually a 'different' way of learning. Rather than sitting in a lecture hall and taking notes (we drift off and lose track), ADD people learn how to teach themselves. Most people with ADD are more intelligent than non ADD people, so if your daughter learns really quickly and easily, it could be an indication. It's still way too early to tell. And we ADDers hyperfocus, which passes for 'pretty focused'.

  • true! lol

  • LOL. I KNEW IT. I got distracted and forgot to blog.. I remembered like 10 min later.. ok.. off to blog now!

  • LOL! Yup! I was planning on writing this reply, then got distracted fixing the rug under my computer chair, then went and got a fresh cup of coffee, then checked for cell phone messages, then decided my face was too dry and went and put cream on it... Then sat and sipped coffee and stared out the window, wondering what the day was going to be like. Time just drifted by before I got back to writing this!

  • best.video.ever on ADD. I always knew but just gotdiagnosed at 25. EVERYTHING I ..whats the word...connected? with. ..............man. i think im gonna do a myspace blog. hopefully ill remember what all i wanted to write.

  • Thanks, aussiegirl24 :-) I always knew something was a bit off, but I actually did think that it was because I'm a multitalented artist. It never occurred to me that I was multitalented because I had AD/HD ;-) I hope that you got your blog written!

  • I am you exactly....It hurts all the time.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me.

May I add you as a friend?

  • Franzapooch...

I'm sorry that you hurt all the time. Have you been diagnosed with AD/HD? I find that I can do a lot of things that other people can't and I 'do' deal with my ADD quite well. It's just a different perception. It's what makes me creative.

  • I'm so glad for you! =) I'm just having a bad time lately. AADD,PTSD,OCD, and wonderful anorexia. You are so beautiful and talented. Thank you for sharing.

  • Sorry to hear that you're having a bad time lately. You sure do have a lot of alphabet labels! All you need to add to that is DID and BPD! I hope that you're taking good care of yourself. I also have an eating disorder, it used to be anorexia then turned to bulimia, which is mostly under control right now. I have a video on youTube about EDs.

  • Yes I've been diagnosed with ADD (and many other things.)Thanks for responding. I think your art is beautiful. I play the flute but I get so frustrated that I end up not finishing the piece and throwing the dang book across the room. I havn't gotten to your calm state yet. I admire you. =)

  • Franzapooch... Thanks about my art. I'm totally self taught. I taught myself the flute, too, but don't play anymore and lost my 'lip'. I hope that you're doing better these days :-)

  • Lost interest after the first minute...

  • Thanks for watching THAT far! The credits ARE too long, lol! You have to wait a little over 2 minutes for the story to begin... I'd edit it differently now, if i could. Maybe I'll do another ADD movie. I have footage I've never even seen.

  • This video portrays a creative life filled with hyper-focusing, frustration and worry. Sadly, adults with ADD are intelligent and intuitive but have a difficult time with school and employment in this modern era. I think ADD could be a symtom of "hunter intinct" carried over from our evolutionary past. The only treatment I found helpful is a fish diet, dark green salads and cannabis. High Protein rich foods for breakfast aqlso seem to be very beneficial soon after awaking.

  • Cannabis? Come on, drugs are a excuse to weak minded people.

  • Cannabis doesn't work for me since it relaxes most other people (non ADD people) and I get hyper from it. I agree that drugs are not the answer, and why I stopped taking Ritalin.

  • Woah good I'm glad. That stuff will mess you up later. Believe me, be well take care.

  • Thanks, stevejohnnycash :-) I guess that in my life, having ADD has been a bonus because of my paradoxical drug reactions, so I never did get into the 'drug' scene and have kept busy with several careers at once. I even quit smoking cigarettes (a three pack a day habit) three years ago.

  • Cool. Just remember this: Quitting ain't easy, I did it 3 times last week.

  • Hahaha! Yup! I remember those days ;-) I think that I'll be okay, though, I've been living with a smoker for almost a year and haven't even been tempted to smoke again.

  • It really all depends on the individual... Medication can be really beneficial. It's helped many. It can make a world of difference. Many people with ADD are affected to the degree that without medication they cannot work or make academic accomplishments,etc..

"Drugs" (aka medication) prescribed by a doctor & taken as directed IS the ONLY answer for many! I have panic disorder & I take meds for it. I've tried other ways of handling it but its the ONLY thing that works for ME.

  • Medication (Ritalin) for my AD/HD did not help me. It made me very organized, and I became a perfect 'Stepford Wife' type, but I lost my ability to create and have the 'aha!' moments I had without Ritalin. I do take clonazepam for my panic disorder, and that helps. It all depend on the disorder for me and what I 'can' or 'can't' take. I can't take antidepressants or sleeping pills, etc. And coffee focuses me but I can go right to sleep after a pot of it ;-)

  • I find it offensive that you refer to people who take drugs as "weak minded" because some people really do need their medication. There's no shame in taking medication as directed. Unfortunately, along with A.D.D I have panic disorder W/ agoraphobia which is impossible for me to handle without medication. Consider there are mental disorders (like schizophrenia) that are serious & requre meds for the individual to live a normal and productive life & have a sense of well being.

  • stevejohnnycash was referring to cannabis, not medication prescribed by a doctor for serious mental problems. I agree with him that illegal street drugs are an excuse for weakminded people. Self medicating is not a good coping mechanism.

  • I read that ADD could be 'hunter instinct', although I tend to believe it's much higher on the evolutionary scale... Good nutrition is always helpful for many things. I find what helps me the most is coffee in the morning to relax me and help get me focused. I have a PDA to remind me of when and where I'm supposed to be and keep a calendar diary. (continued)

  • (continued) This works well for me since I'm self-employed. Having a regular job (day job) has always been a painful experience since if something bores me, I drift off. I'm totally challenged and good at new things in this modern era since challenges keep my interest. I self-teach, which is the only way I learn. (continued)

  • (continued3)

Since people with ADD have paradoxical reactions to drugs, cannabis makes me totally hyper for days and after a few tries in college, I gave up on it. If cannabis works for you, you probably don't have ADD.

  • You were all the characters? Some were better looking.

  • I wasn't ALL the characters ;-) Carl played some of them and my cat, Merlin, played himself...

  • Very interesting to watch! Good music and it flowed well from one scene to the other. I like the way that you played all the different characters.

  • Thank you :-)

  • I think that I have ADD too. I keep going from one thing to another.

  • If you think that you have ADD, you should get assessed... There are other mental 'conditions' that have many of the same symptoms
