My first real eye opener to what you can do with the pentatonic scale was when a taxi cab driver turned me on to Rick Braun's album "Sessions Vol 1." Now I always look for different ways to use it. And then I learned about modes i.e. mixolydian like here. For which I used Frank Gambale's "Modes: No More Mystery."
And for so much else there are great sources here on youtube. Like this one! :cheers:
