  • The Navy operated WV-121s for weather in the 60s-70s. This EP-3 for Airborne Reconnaissance both ELINT and COMINT. I attached a video that I made back in the day. (1970s).

  • The navy operated several WP-3As in the 70's. They look a lot like an EP-3E externally but are vastly different as far as mission systems go.

The EP-3E shown in this video is not capable of ASW missions. It is a pure elint platform.

Current P-3Cs also perform overland surveilance missions.

  • 1:26 Cool! You also caught the contrail of an airliner I think.

  • Monitoring satellite telephones. A usefull update?

  • What is an Anti-Submarine aircraft doing in the Desert? I have the Canadian version, the CP-140 flying over my house all the time. Great videos Sir!

  • The EP-3E is the ELINT version of the P-3, so its not a sub hunter, technically.

  • i think thats the weather P-3 but i dont remember what it really looks like and glad to see your back putting videos back on man

  • Its only been like 2 weeks. But this will most likely be my last one till the end of Jan.

  • I don't think the USN operates weather penetrating orions anymore or if they ever did. NOAA does. And weather orions don't have antennae farms like this one. 8081rt has the correct id .

  • @CAPTJACKAUBREY69 ooo ok thanks
