It's not my vid but usually there is a facility on video editing software where you can add Titles (on a mac) transitions etc. It is part of the editing software.

in case it helps you, the way i do it is when making a film or editing in windows movie maker, there are options where you can put titles, text, etc practically anywhere you want. the only thing i've not found is how to do PIP and some nice tricks i've seen on youtube. hope it helps.
