  • Nice sounding drums.

  • @tanksbb Thanks! - Everything is triggered into an Alesis DM10 Module.

  • Another exelent drumcover! You really get some extra practise time now you have switched your drumkit into "stealth mode" :-D Rock on my friend! I will be returning with anticipation for your next song!

    Kind regards, Ronald.

  • @musicmaniac1965 Thanks Ronald! Yes I can practice late at night and not disturb my family - my "Stealth" kit is very quiet to play, and it sounds even better than it did as an acoustic set with mic's and EQ'd through the mixer. The Alesis DM10 module has excellent, realistic sounds - and I can change the sound of my kit at will, so that is another big plus. I am very happy with the results of my conversion to an E-Drum kit. Thanks for your support!

  • @FL50DRUMR Youre welcome. And thank YOU for showing us there's a way to play acoustic kits with the silence of a Edrum kit! You are perfectly right, the feel of drumming on a real kit can't be compared to drumming on electronic kits. This is the best solution for people who don't want to make to much noice, but do want to drum on a accoustic kit! Altough this won't come cheap! LOL.

    Kind regards, Ronald.

  • @musicmaniac1965 On average, the additional cost is about $100 extra per trigger (drum or cymbal), plus the cost of the drum brain. I got lucky and purchased the Alesis Studio kit which I parted out on Ebay except for the DM10 module.. the parts sold for the price I paid for the whole kit, so I basically got the DM10 module for free (except for all the work selling + Shipping). The Hi-Hat stand I custom built, taking the electronics out from the DM10 pedal, and adding them to my VEX pedal.

  • @musicmaniac1965 I first modified the DM10 pedal to replace the pedal on the Vex acoustic stand... that worked really well.. I just didn't like the length, and height of the DM10 pedal. There are also 2 large screw heads on the top of the pedal - very uncomfortable. That is when I decided to try taking the electronics out of the DM10 pedal and adding them to the acoustic pedal. Actually it was easier then modifying the DM10 pedal to fit on the acoustic stand, and it is same height as the kick.

  • @FL50DRUMR Hey ed, maybe it's a good idea to do a video on your drumkit, showing the trigger positions, and with this explenation witch may help out a lot of other accoustic drummers with the same noice problem :-D I bet that would get so much views, as i may assume that every drummer with enough money to spare, still preferes to play a real kit! LOL.

Thanks for this superb explenation, it really is a work of art!

    Kind regards, Ronald.

  • another great one Ed I've got to re-do this cover sometime the snare sound on this track sounds so good well keep'em coming \m/

  • @stanleynich Yes as I mentioned on another song, the DM10 gives you two instruments per trigger note. I found offsetting the pan and volume of two different instruments gives it real depth and definition. I think the snare choices are "Ringer" and "Crecent" or "Blasterbeat". Pan is set to L5 and L6, volume 80 and 84. There are sooo many choices for snares, the combinations seem endless. it's alot of fun to mix the snare and other instruments to get "that sound". Thanks for watching \m/

  • Well played Ed. You move around the kit very well and it sounds great. Keep Rocking....Nick

  • @readyeddy101 Thanks Nick! I find that I have improved since when I first started last year, but I still have sooo much to learn, some bad habits to break, and I really need to work on 4 limb independence. But I really appreciate your support and everyone on YT that has provided support and guidance ove the last year. Keep rockin' \m/

  • Wow!! Great stuff Ed!! Kit sounds awesome. Is that the first time you used the overhead camera view?? Looks great. Glad you're back at it. Great mix, I can't hear your vocal though LOL!

    Domenic

  • @gallupi1965 Thanks Dom! Second use of this new overhead cam. I picked up a HD Microsoft Lifecam for $48 on Ebay - it was so good, I added a second one. It comes with about 5' USB cable, I was able to add a 10' extension, so the overhead is permanently mounted, and I record it through the Laptop - very small file sizes compared to my digital camera. Files that were 2GB are now 128MB! Makes it real easy to add the overhead - no climbing to mount the camera. 10' USB ext worked the 15' ext did not

  • @gallupi1965 Yea - I tried singing but I got a message on the laptop screen - "Don't quit your day job!" LMAO I just enjoy all of the Bad Co songs - I grew up listening to them... lots of memories. The Alesis DM10 module is really awesome - a lot of opportunity to change the sound of my kit. I'm trying to figure out how to record both webcams at the same time so reduce the number of "takes" - But I am very impressed with the Lifecam HD model. Thanks for your support Dom - I truly appreciate it!

  • Hi :D

very nice cover again, your drum kit sound good !

and very nice singer haha :D

    Keep rocking ! lml._(>.<)_.lml bye !

  • @stormcenter3 Thanks! The Alesis DM10 module does sound amazing. I thought I really nailed the vocals - I sound just like Paul Rodgers don't I? ~LOL~ Paul Rodgers is "THE VOICE"! He really has a remarkable voice for singing Blues influenced Rock!

  • @FL50DRUMR i agree (and i like his face x])

  • Very nice, Ed! I think this is your best playing so far! You kept very good time with all four beats on the hi-hat and ride. (Still need to close that hi-hat) Your fills were right on and your drums sound very good! Best video so far.

Would love to see you close the hi-hat and take your foot off the pedal till you break that habit. Then mic the hi-hat so I can hear it. I keep saying this because I saw you play all four notes on it, but you're still opening it.

    Making Big Progress

    Excellent!

  • @chessdude67 Thanks Tim! I really appreciate the support. I have been working hard to correct that habit - but got derailed a bit when I got injured and didn't play for a while. I do appreciate you helping me with the basics - it is people like you that have reached out and helped me on YT to improve my playing - and I always welcome your insight and tips. Thank you, and I look forward to your first video with your new guitar.
