I ride a bike and if there is a car waiting to pull out at a junction infront of me I look to make eye contact with them so I know they've seen me, if they're looking the other way I beep my horn so they know I'm there.

Ok you can look at these videos and see most vehicles pulled out in front of the bikes. I do not care how fast the bike was going, vehicle owners should pay attention.

@RaceMeNowhere I read the story behind the red car, the bike was wayyy over the speed limit. Most people find bikes difficult to see and judge the speed of. If you're much above the speed limit, many drivers will misjudge the time they have to pull out, if they see you at all.
Non riders also don't realize that while most bikes can out accelerate most cars, most bikes cannot evade or stop worth a crap.

Think a bit if you are in the car: you stop, look, see a VERY distant black dot on the road horizon, you move into the road to cross it and in a split second the distant black dot reveals itself to be a 200km/h bike - there is NOTHING the driver can do.

You blame the cars but looking at the damage the motorcyclists HAD to be going some considerable speed to cause the damage seen in these clips. Blaming car drivers isn't key, infact motorcyclists are often the more dangerous road users - swerving in and out of fast moving cars on motorways or dual carriage ways - saying that even on country lanes. I think the blame lays partially on both types of vehicle, both car and motorbike.

@babywstarr Hi, Try something you can easily handle in terms of weight, height and comfort. Don't go for some big bikes because they look good. Kawasaki Ninja 250R / Honda CBR250R (2011) / Honda CBR 125 / Aprilla 125 etc... are the good beginners bike. Try as many as you can before buying any bike. some look better but seat position is not comfortable, some have a better handling and some are cheaper.

@babywstarr Hi, Try something you can easily handle in terms of weight, height and comfort. Don't go for some big bikes because they look good. Kawasaki Ninja 250R / Honda CBR250R (2011) / Honda CBR 125 / Aprilla 125 etc... are the good beginners bike. Try as many as you can before buying any bike. some look better but seat position is not comfortable, some have a better handling and some are cheaper.

My sister was the paramedic that went to the first accident in this clip! Dont matter how many time you look when the dumb ass rider is doing 120mph round a blind bend. Killed the 19 year girl outright but he died in a lot of pain from a ruptured spleen! Im not have a dig a riders because there are alot of retarded drivers out there but not all riders are perfect!

0:09 0:11 and 0:27 - They should show pictures of THOSE accidents instead of the "He's hard to see but dead easy to hurt" sequence in the "Think once, think twice, think bike." safety ads in the UK. They have got the psychology all wrong. Only if car drivers see proof that they stand a good chance of being injured or killed too, will they really "think bike" and look hard to see if there's enough space before they risk pulling out in front of you.

Some of these wrecks could have been prevented by the rider, sure, but by far the most wrecks are caused by car drivers.

@titytit No doubt! I was in a parking lot headed for the exit when I saw a lady pull out in front of me and nearly hit me on the side. I was ready for it 'cuz I figured everyone is out to kill me when I ride, so I hit the brakes. I caught up with her at a stopsign and started yelling every insult in the book at her through her passenger side window. I thought her passenger and herself were about to cry. I bet they'll be more careful next time! Maybe I saved the life of the next cyclist.......?

@samfitzy8 it is possible some survived, but maybe with some proper serious injuries, i think you learn not to crash when you realise that if you do, you are dead or paralysed or never quite the same again... I use a bike to travel across a busy city in a less time at any time of day without relying on public transport, when on the road i hate the way everyone drives and the fact that there are too many polluting pointlessly big cars on the road, i wish they'd all get the f**k out of my way...

guys buy harleys ride slow or simply get a car, even if its a small one its still much safer than a bike. I understand how bikers feel, ive had countless injuries in accidents on my quad bike (yamaha banshee t5) bt i stopped going on the road, almost died abt 2 months ago, i was lucky no car was coming on the opposite lane ended up with a simple back injury.. Note that most of the crashes between bike and car involve the bike hitting the side of the car too. Evidence pointing to the car pulling out infront of the bike. Car drivers, WISE THE HELL UP

@rebelyell18601865 Bikes accelerate far quicker than most cars, plus very often bike riders drive much too fast, plus they're harder to see, especially when there are trees with shadow nearby.... yet bike riders seem to think everyone allways sees and knows what they're doing.
