Why does Lutz from PSG1 have more HP than RUDO? I watched a Dark Falz video and while this Dark Force pwns PSG1's Dark Falz they made Alis and company way overpowered in the remake. Rudo from PS1 or Wren from PS4 could solo PS1 without a problem.
Only if Sega would release the good games in America such as the remakes of PH1 and PH2 I would have recognize as a better video game company. but no I can't get my hopes high because we still get shit games and re-releases of games with no updated graphics that were beaten 10 to 14 years ago.
This brings back so many memories. I remember playing the first one for the master system I had the converter hehe. Then I got this for the Genesis, they really need to translate both, and totally redo 3 and in a way the original team would have. Then remake 4, and put them in the playstation store, as well as xbox live.
Much like with Nei First, this fight was a pushover for me. Then again, I was at Level 70 here. Plus I was with the most convenient party you can take to Noah: Rudger (HIGH offense), Anne (defensive techniques) and Huey (his Sulfur is basically the PSG2 counterpart of Thunder Storm).
Why is Anna's damage so low? Rolf and Rudo are dealing more damage than they did in the original, but Anny is for some reason dealing much less instead.
In the original version slicers would do crap damage whenever any other non gun weapon would do crap damage. If Anna's slicers does crap damage against a certain type of enemies, Rolf's sword would suffer the same fate.
Here we have a situation where Rolf's sword vastly outdamage Anna's slicers, something which didn't happen in the original PS II.
Well, except that in the original game you can't tell what kind of damage you're doing to Dark Force. It's possible that it hasn't changed at all between versions. Maybe swords do far worse damage to this boss than slashers.
I think slashers are highly overrated weapons against bosses, anyway. They're mostly useful in places where you know you'll encounter multiple enemies (and in PSII's case, only multiple of the same enemy). Skure is a good place to have Anna. Dark Force, not so much.
While theoretically possible, it's highly unlikely. Dark Force has a defense of 30 and chance is he takes just as much damage as any other enemy with that defense would. No other enemy in the original PS II has a "Slashers are more/less effective than swords" rule. If swords do crap damage, so will slashers and vice versa. Again, Dark Force (and Mother Brain) could be an exception, but it's highly unlikely.
@Crystalgate True, but perhaps in this version of the game, swords rightfully do way more damage than slicers, on all enemies. From what I understand, the Ages versions "fixed" a lot of the technical problems that were in the original games. For instance, in Gen 1, Odin has more HP and does more damage than Alis. In the original game Odin was never as strong as Alis, which is silly. 15 year old girl vs. 28 year old hulking man? I think the laconian daggers are fixed in Gen 2 as well.
Yes, but it was planned to have been released outside of Japan but the deal with the company Sega tapped to translate the series fell through and the project was scrapped, shame too I would of loved to have played the Phantasy star 1 remake
The production value in this is no where near the original. Every battle uses the same effects without using any new damage effects. At least the original did that much.
It's a shame because I thought the cast of PSU were rather interesting and certainly had some great designs, but its too bad they were waisted on PSU. Now if they were taking part in something as epic as PS2, that would be awesome. Id love to see a classic Phantasy Star, separate from all this Universe malarky.
For those that KNOW all of the Phantasy Star games well, you may or may not agree with me that the original 1989 Phantasy Star II Genesis incarnation of DARK FORCE is the best looking, most terrifying. (Aside from Dark Falz in the original SMS PS). More so than the Dark Force in PSIII, the 4 Dark Forces in PSIV and even more than the 3 versions of The Profound Darkness!
This was a great battle in the Genesis version, and I am happy the PS2 conversation was just as great. It's a shame that Sega never decided on giving a US release. I would;ve love to have it in my collection.
Awesome.... Want, but in English please :)

Anna's weapon is weak against robots. and dark force, in fact, acts here like one. also, Kain's robot techniques work fine against it.
Veke99 2 years ago
Thank you.
That must be a new feature of Generation 2 then. In the original PS II, Anna's weapons didn't have any weaknesses Rolf's swords doesn't have.

Yea, it is.
Since there are only 4 bosses in the game the composers were too lazy to make an extra boss theme for it. :)

There's nothing wrong with PSU. I like it better than the other 2-3 pso games. Thank god it doesnt take an eternity to go up a level.
PSO was like that, plus I had all the rares on pso and it didnt improve your attack by much at all. PSU is much different.
