the reason he looks like a penny racer is because he was in the micro change line as a toy car. more specifically, a penny racer

All the mini Autobots were based off of Penny racers. Takara had them in their Microman line with Reflector, Megatron, Soundwave, his tapes and Blaster.

I love this Bumvlebee i have the shiny g2 version. great review. i find it fun to take his arms in vehicle mode and angle them up and he pops a wheelie!

Windcharger was my first transformer. I got so much play out of it I was able to remove both his arms & legs then pop them pack in again.
