Fantastic band. There's something to the earnest hardcore/post genre of this timeframe that hasn't been touched. So much now is too overproduced, too many effects, too "mechanical". This is genuine.

Real talent isn't based on whether or not a band has technical music. :P i personally don't like hardcore or metalcore or w/e the fuck this is but i mean really Megadeth? Opeth? Megadeth is thrash which is relatively easy(although megadeths newer stuff is harder than their older stuff) and Opeth just tremelo picks really fast and adds random accoustic guitar stuff in the middle of songs.

So may of the prog-hxc, post, metal, and all the rest - many of which I do like a lot - don't have the heart of Hopesfall from this period. Reminiscent of the vibe I get from Strongarm ("advent of a miracle" years), Braid, Sunny Day Real Estate, etc.
