  • Very good! Thanks a lot. It sucks that I still have to be fluented in English!!! I'd already like to speak well...

  • @regiabreu1 - I know how you feel. Mastering something takes a lot of focus, determination and will power. But in the end, it's worth it! Right? :)

  • @0938332462 - Is that good or bad? :)

  • @AmericanAnthony that's great bro. keep going. :)

btw, i've seen this sentence but i don't understand, can you explain it: "the working man is a sucker".. :|

    thanks in advance.

  • Well, that was a good one. :)

But it's not that well clear. For ex. It sucks what? What sucks what?

I've met alot of expressions with "it sucks" in it. Among others: "This dude sucks eggs" I do understand that one meant to say "The dude" is bad. But why eggs? Where it came from?

Or, in my correspodence with a girl, she wrote: "Nop, I'm not drinking anymore, cuz I have to breastfeed my li'le daughter. So I feel myself as a sucker at a party."

I'd like to know more. Thatnks though for this one.

  • @KingFisheR00011 - Sucks is an intransitive verb. So, it doesn't need an object. Here's an example comparison:

    This hamburger stinks.

    This hamburger sucks.

I don't know the origin of "sucks eggs". It sounds like he's saying the person is an idiot / jerk / or something like that. There are many different ways to use it.

"Sucker" has a different meaning from sucks. I'll put that on my lesson list.

    Thanks for you comment!

  • It sucks that I'm having heartburn right now :)

  • @SergeHID - That does suck! I hate heartburn.

  • Thank you!

  • @AKVR19 - My pleasure!
