  • very very good! thank you :)

  • Just beautiful to watch. Debra Paget was such a great dancer for her time and as a bellydancer myself it's a sweet thing to watch her dance. Thank you. :)

  • Thanks for posting this,Debra Paget is one of my favorite actresses of all time, she was very underrated though, given she was up against Monroe and Taylor in the 50s but had talent equal to or better than both of them, and the beauty too!

  • I was just a little boy but remember all the older guys talking about her, not too loudly... this was about as heavy a movie as they got to see in a regular theater at that time. Now that i see this after 54 years, I realize just how hot she was, something of a Summer Glau of the 1950s.

  • WOW! That was fantastic! I don't think anyone can hold a candle to the dance performance that Debra Paget just gave. Her costume, especially her "leggings" was gorgeous and her timing and dance moves was precise to the music. Especially loved her dancing with the scarves. All of the other 50s and 60s choreographed dances are so poorly done and cheesy compared to this one. Phenomenal!

  • @jewel1260 Love comments like this. Thanks for taking the time to write!

  • That was Captain Pike from Star Trek TOS! :D

Liked Debra in "The Ten Comandments"!

  • At her peak Debra Paget had to be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

  • Debra was the beauty of the beauties.

  • Does anyone know where I could find a Youtube video that features the music at around 4:30 here? I love that music, but I can't find it anywhere else!

  • women were amazing in the 50s and we should thank them for their mark on society today

  • I want to be her o.o

  • She's wearing one of her many "love me for my mind" outfits I see. :)

  • With an ever-increasing number of old movies available on DVD, why oh why has no-one at Paramount Studios thought to make Princess Of The Nile available?. Debra Paget was one of the most ravishing Hollywood beauties of all time, & especially in this movie. I, for one, would go straight out & buy it along with many others, no doubt!.

  • Allow me to clear up the "why didn't she bellydance" questions. BD was extremely hard to find in the US outside of a few ethnic clubs in LA, NYC, and a couple of other cities before the late 1960s. See the DVD "American Bellydance Legends" to see how Raks Sharki slowly reached American consciousness. Lunick and Paget may have seen some BD, but I doubt either had any chance to study it.

  • She was beautiful, but there were no caucasians in the Nile back then.

  • @garychldress74 Back when??

  • she is stunning and delightful and she has balletic training, such clean and strong lines and yet her snake arms are just like a proper bellydancer :D beautiful - I love her!

  • I LOve her she'a all woman!!

  • "this wench please me" , I love the way all the men are breathing heavily as they watch the seductress.

  • She is pretty, but she does not know how to belly dancing. Belly dancing can be difficulty for some people.

  • HOT DAMN!!

  • i dont get it... was traditional belly dance too overtly sensual for hollywood back then? i mean she is great but... it's kinda too much for my liking

  • The choreographer is Olga Lunick who also choreographed Howard Hughes' "Son of Sinbad." Debra did this dance in her nightclub act as well as using a lot of it in the infamous "Indian Tomb" Snake dance. Jack Cole had created Gwen Verdon's very sensual dance in "David and Bathsheba" in 1951 as well as some East Indian moves for Danny Kaye and Gwen in "On the Riviera" at Fox the same year. Debra certainly could have seen it and adapted some of it.

  • @larsbonner Super comment. Thanks!

  • @northbreed1 You are welcome. I will try to add anything that I know - and that is verfied - about the dancers, choreographers and scenes in your posts. You are introducing new generations to some talented people!

  • They don't make women as they used to ...

  • Sadly no more Debra Pagets left in today's Hollywood :)

She's such an exotic doll! Thanks for uploading this!!

  • @cloudidogz

all we have is megan fox...and she barely has anything to do with acting or true eroticism

  • @etheangel2220 yet she is on your mind

  • Ms. Paget had some body!..WOW! =oO

  • SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL MOVIE SCENE , SHE IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND SHE DANCES GREAT, GOOD OLD DAYS

  • OMG! This was my very favorite movie when I was about 8. It did come on AMC once.

  • Never heard of this "wench", I'll definately check out a couple of her flicks. She's a BABE of the quality you rarely see thesedays. Cant even remember how I came accross this, oh yeah, Looking at burnout vids, Strange.

  • duhhhh she's purrdy.

  • elvis was rumored to have had an affair with her but who knows, lucky guy if he did,

  • wow...she is stunning. didn't realize she was the woman from the Ten Commandments. Thank you for the video.

  • @northbreed1 Do you know who did the choreography ? Could it have been Jack Cole who did many of the 20th Fox films ?

She's an extraordinary dancer...its really a complicated number and she does it beautifully .....like a trained dancer would.

  • @miltsar The choreographer is uncredited and unknown. Thanks for both your question and comments!

  • That's Jeffrey Hunter at 1:39, isn't it? He starred in the unaired pilot of the original Star Trek as Christopher Pike, first (or second, according to ST canon) captain of the Enterprise.

  • What a lady! Actresses were definitely more feminine in the 50's and 60's. Grace and beauty.

I love the scene when she started to sword fight! Much more believable than today's actresses.

Great vid. I remember her from the Ten Commandments and fell for her then.

    Thanks for posting.

  • She fights and she dances? Awesommmme

  • BEAUTIFULL ARTIS

  • Very well done. Reminds me of the scene in the Ten Commandments when Debra Paget dances in that tent I think. I was an extra on that show and was lucky enough to be booked while that scene was filmed. It was a smal set on the same stage as the Golden Calf. I blogged about that a litle if you are interested:

  • uuummm thats not belly dancing. that's ballet.

  • why is it that short women are, for the most part, so graceful and beautiful? it's like they know who they are, they are sure of themselves, they don't go around acting funny in front of men, check it out next time you see a small woman.

  • Didn't she also play Shiva in "Solomon and Shiva?"

  • @dkupke no she didn't . it's " solomon and sheba" sheba was played by " gina lollobrigida "

  • JUST GREAT.. ..

  • Debra's a real Hollywood actress.....not the losers we have now days. She is a REAL LADY.

  • @2egypt i agree. back then you had to have some form of talent, dancing, singing etc. now it's just looks or luck that get you into hollywood... sad

  • this is just too much. It's hypnotizing.

  • Mas que princesa DIOSA

  • tiny, sexy and graceful Debra...

  • A true beauty...so graceful and exotic...

  • lovely woman

  • I believe it was because of Debra's performance in this movie that Cecil B. DeMille asked her to portray "Lilia" in "The Ten Commandments" (1956)- a more "wholesome" Biblical charcater, but no less "sexier".

  • It must have taken a lot of time to compile the scenes for this one video.

VERY entertaining, northbreed1. I didn't know they made such elaborate movies. I thot there was only The Ten Commandments.

  • she sure likes to dance >_>

  • I like this film, thank you. I also emailed Fox, I hope that it helps. Where can I see more (or all) of this film, please? Thank you in advance for the suitable hyperlink.

  • Isn't this movie titled "Journey To The Lost City"; Great dancing. LOVE IT!

  • Debra- The Body!

  • Beautiful video!

    Thank you!

  • Tail end of the hollywood studio days when the actresses got a a good dose of training (comportment, poise, balance, dance calisthenics etc...) another natural beauty. I always think of her bedroom sultry voice - also the slave girl in ten commandments (Joshua - John Derek's - girl) Oddist pairing was with James Stewart way too old to be her romantic interest. I'm certain as blonde Hitchcock would have put her in a movie : )

  • Saved to my favorites! Thank so much for putting this together.

  • que mujer mas hermosa , era perfecta increible , mejor que cualquiera de la actualidad

  • She's so gorgeous! I'm a girl and yet I was mesmerized by her. xD

  • Glamorous! Fascinating!

  • Thanks for Debra´s video, sir.

When I was a kid, before my teen years, I saw Debra dancing.

I still remember the magic atraction.

  • I love those B movies!

  • I love thos beaded things on her legs and the bells on her feet.

  • feminity at its best.how beautiful she is..we hardly see any beauties of this kind today..

  • Debra Paget starred three westerns: Broken Arrow;White Feather; and The Last Hunt.

She is the most beautiful Indian girl of the movie!

  • ...She is Beautiful, Exotic, Bright,Stunning, Amazing, and mach more...

  • It's funny how the men in these movies have nothing to do but stand around and eat grapes.

  • @bellydancerocks321

    lol,lol,lol

    true.....

  • I think this type of dancing in Persian dancing. it doesn't resemble any kind of belly dancing I've seen.

  • Dammit! I wish my bellydancing skills were as good as hers = [. Debra is just...AWESOME!

  • thats beautiful

  • she looks a bit like elizabeth taylor

  • Only better

  • yah, they both have black hair.

  • I think she wore a real boned corset to have that waist....along with a rough exercise routine, she attained the figure of a goddess..impressive

  • Watch 'Indian Tomb'. She didn't need a corset I think she was the most beautiful woman there has ever been.

  • She is stunningly beautiful.

  • It's movies like these that use to come on on Saturdays. Made for great tv watching on those cool fall afternoons.

  • Debra Paget has such a perfect face and sexy body, but I don't why she was not given better publicity like Marilyn Monroe. She's also a great dancer. I guess that's Hollywood for you. I think she's one of the most beautiful & sexy woman I ever seen on screen.

  • the entrance she makes at 3:50 is one of the best "glamour" entrances by an actress. she makes the big eyed lear the 2 males give her totally credible. i just came across this movie last week and dont every remember seeing it. its a fun, fun movie. i didnt realize how curvy deb paget was! i mean, damn! i would show this movie at schools just to counteract that ralph lauren skin and bones crap and also the toothpick with silicone breasts thing so prevalent.

  • Debra was hotter than Monroe - and more graceful, being a trained dancer. I've loved her ever since I first saw her in Broken Arrow (1950).

  • omg i salute those women who can bring out that fantastic exotic aura during those years without any surgery technology. i wz jz mesmerized by her beauty.... 0_o

  • As Spock would say: "Fascinating."

  • @northbreed1 Fascinating because directors back then understood the art of movie making and storytelling. Now, its all crap. The talent and right people are there but storytelling sucks. Its not about cgi although it does help.

  • @northbreed1 hahahahahahahahha

  • @northbreed1 Indeed Captain!

  • i see a parallel to gene rodenberry's star trek...jeffrey hunter was captain christopher pike in the pilot, and the woman he liked was susan oliver, as zena, who danced exotically to seduce him

  • She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen !!

  • Her sister Lisa Gaye was also stunning.

  • Yes. She is a very beautiful woman.

  • She is amazing. I hope someone is taking care of her in her old age.

  • She is like 80 now and she is lives in the house behind me........I kid you not

  • shes 76 actually. and she looks great, look up the video of her now, she was on the Christian station TBN.

  • @TubbsLite

    Wow! That's so cool!

Have you ever spoken to her?!

I bet she has some interesting Hollywood stories to tell!

  • WoW, that's unlike any Moroccan dinner experience I've ever seen, this woman gyrates sex!

Debra Paget is definitely dripping wet hot!

  • what an exstreamly beautifule woman

  • Great!

    5 strs

  • is she famous?

  • I love facial veils, that hide nothing. LOL

  • I've never seen such divine beauty! Debra Paget looks like an Angel. Jeffrey Hunter is just incredibly handsome. I've never seen such a beautiful couple in my life.

  • Thanks for posting this. Jeffrey Hunter was SO incredibly handsome! He and Ms. Paget made a beautiful onscreen couple.

Wish that this movie was available on DVD.

  • I second you, JHFan. They made such a beautiful couple!

  • hott..hot..hott!!! ouoouucchhh!!!

  • DOn't leave us hanging omg Jeff Hunter is sooo hot too, I have to find this movie now see what you started LOL thanx for posting awesome debskie

  • Petition Fox, my friend. They could restore and remaster this baby for the best possible picture and sound--maybe even adding some extras for a DVD release. Only THEY can!

  • Let's start a football club, hotwok. We'll call it "Little Debbie United." Then we could run with DP and try to score...(wink)

  • There are some fabulous images of Debra Paget in this videoclip. You can keep Marilyn Monroe et al thank you, i would very happy to run off with little Deb!.

  • Yeah now thats what I like!

  • WOW!! she's stunning...

You don't talent like that these days...

  • She must be from the WHITE NILE???

  • Well, as we all know, until fairly recently it was standard Hollywood practice to cast Caucasian actors in "exotic" or "ethnic" roles. At least the lovely Ms. Paget looked more like an Egyptian princess than Rhonda Fleming in "Serpent of the Nile" -- or Liz Tayor, for that matter!

  • If you read in history, the nile WAS a place for Caucasians as well. It was also funny that cast Alaadin as Chinese when there was no Chinese in the Nile at those times. Its all in Encyclopedias.
