I agree, however, an Oscar is not a true measure,it's something I have little respect for when I see who they hand them out to especially in the last 30 years or more. Having said that, Gene deserved one when you look at the whole achievement from Gene when you understand what it took given Genes persona and fear of failure, Zanuck showed great insight and if only Gene had not become ill we can only guess at what Gene would have achieved in a Lifetime.

My God,Gene is beautiful in these scenes.I don't think any woman has been captured with so

much natural splendour as she was in this film.I would have given her the Oscar for just that reason.Her mesmerizing,controlled performance and her stunning presence should have resulted in the award she so deservedly earned.

If it weren't for You and Benny I never would've rediscovered Gene Tierney and great performances such as she gave in this film!
