and they didnt need any, they were few so their effects were minor. our effects will be catastrophic, but theres no excuses. we 'could' solve our problems with science, alternative technology, birth control, mass education etc.

we are in control of everything to the point of destruction. the only thing thats missing is CONTROL OF OURSELVES

You seem to forget that we have gotten more efficient.

We burn far less than we did in the first part of last century because of insulated houses, double paned windows, etc.

trivialities. theres no such thing as 'green development'.

every decade there has been as much energy released from fossil fuels as THE ENTIRE PERIOD UP TO THAT POINT SINCE THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION. so in decade 2000 - 2009 we burned as much as c1850 - 1999. the decade 2010 - 2019 as much as 1850 - 2009. its called an exponential increase. and then theres burning 3/4 of the worlds forest down to take into consideration :(
