I gotta ask, are the gear ratios different between the 8 and 9? Because my friend has a 9 and listening to the vid, you only got to 4th gear by the end of the road, and his car only goes to 110 at the end of 4th and his is the 5 speed. So either the ratios are different, or you really weren't doing 130

from what ive been told, the evo gear ratios is simular to the sti gear box. its short for track. so 4th gear @ 130 is intense, 4th hear on a usual evo would be from 120 but i guess if he can hit 4th gear @ 130 is good(well it is).

He would either need to change out his final drive (which is a minimum $800 option on a tranny rebuild) or he has to be revving the car to 8200+.RPM. This car does not sound like it's high enough. Trust me I have a 500whp Evo. It climbs through the gears MUCH faster than this.

Other than his decent sounding exhaust (which sounds Buschur cause I had one on my first Evo) this car is not special. The driver launches well, no doubt. Other than that it's a minor bolt-on car. My 9 went 12.6 at 109 with a TBE and mail-in tune. My 04 runs mid 11's at over 120 with a near 2.0 60ft (stock tranny and TC). 7k rom in 4th is about 113.

look the 2009 evo mr come standard with the sst automatic transmission it is an automatic trans but it is based off a dual clutch manual trans it has drive reverse and neutral and the paddle shift mode
