The Marsh Autograph record company in Chicago was recording electrically in 23-24, but did not have the finances to compete against the bigger competition.
I beleive they recorded a few tunes by Jelly Roll Morton and King Oliver.
Can't retrieve the exact data though, I once read this and don't seem to find it back. It's true both Columbia and Victor did some tests too, but they did not come up with electrical recordings before 1925, whereas those I read about came late 1924.

I thought so too. Was it possible they were trying out the electrical process in late 1924?

Yes, there were some tests in 1924, but not for Victor. It was a small company that made the first electricals.
