After a series of these the Koreans switched out the siberian with bengals which are smaller but much more ferocious and vicious. The bengal tiger won in almost every case!
It's not to say that tigers can't be agressive, they are simply less agressive, and less inclined to fight, Clyde Beatty famously stated that the lion intimidates the tiger when they're seated together.

Lions don't normally jab they swipe and tackle, tigers are the one's that tend to jab albeit very fast jabs. Even still they are not stronger, lions are more agressive, experienced, and better protected. They both could kill one another but the lion will be the usual victor.

I also saw a video of a warthog (I think) going head first into a lion and the lion just took the hits but didn't even touch the warthog. up untill the 1960s they arraged fights between lions and tigers in Korea. The siberian tiger lost to lions due to their lack of will to fight and the lions protective mane. After a series of these the Koreans switched out the siberian with bengals which are smaller but much more ferocious and vicious. The bengal tiger won in almost every case!

It's not to say that tigers can't be agressive, they are simply less agressive, and less inclined to fight, Clyde Beatty famously stated that the lion intimidates the tiger when they're seated together.
The fact is evolution decided this fight a long time ago lions evolved as fighters, as protectors of their pride, tigers evolved to be an ambush predator not a fighter, this doesn't make either superior to the other it simply means they've evolved differently.

Lions don't normally jab they swipe and tackle, tigers are the one's that tend to jab albeit very fast jabs. Even still they are not stronger, lions are more agressive, experienced, and better protected. They both could kill one another but the lion will be the usual victor.

There are SO MANY STUDIES that have cited Tigers as having more muscle, more power, more weight, larger canines, and a stronger bite force. If you really want, I can give you all the sources so you can see that you're wrong! Plus, you're right, Tiger's will try to avoid conflict when possible. BUT, that doesn't mean that they aren't ferocious as hell when they NEED to be. BIG DIFFERENCE!

I also saw a video of a warthog (I think) going head first into a lion and the lion just took the hits but didn't even touch the warthog. See, both animals can chill at times, but both know when they need to be aggressive - and that's exactly what I'm talking about. Life on the line = time to be aggressive....

But its very hard to find.Lots of the fights are in movies where the Tiger was planned out to lose.Whereas you can find loads of cases where Tigers are beating the shit out of Lions. And in Rome the Lions won more like 60 percent of the time.They where facing mostly sumatran tigers, and some Bengal Tigers.And that's just one of the few cases where lions were superior.You can find hundreds of cases where the Tiger was superior.

It seems to me that tigers are born warriors. They're quicker than the lions and can do multiple attacks with claws at the same time (watch the video again). Another reason could be the tigers are fierce enough. Animals may sometimes perform self-defense through vibration of threat.

sorry mate re check your data the lions that were used in roman times were barbary lions which are the biggest member of the lion family far more aggressive than your average lion.which in general they say whichever of the animals is the most aggressive would win.but thats not to say a tiger wouldnt win.also a tiger needs more than 1inch in the lions neck because there main method is suffocation which 1inch couldnt be sufficient!
