I can tell u whats gonna happen because I've read the comics. There are some changes like Merle and Darrel Dixon, but the show pretty much sticks to the comics blueprints and just adds little things. Since Merle and Darrel weren't in the comics, they can be killed off without any drawbacks. I hope not though.
