  • super song!!!!!

  • The Heuys are Priceless. That unique sound gave the word Chopper

  • basta de guerrassssssssssssssssssssss

  • For all the Marines and Corpsmen of the Vietnam war that served beside me in 67 and 68, I will never forget you. We're all old now, but the memories of the sacrifices you made every day in the jungles and skies of Vietnam are just as fresh now as they were back then. God Bless Corpsman Bill Sperb, killed in action April 69 while trying to rescue wounded Marines of Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines.

  • UH-1'S OF THE VIETNAM OF THE ERA ARE FUCKING AWESOME WISH I COULD OWN ONE MY BROTHER AND UNCLE WAS THERE 65-67 I WAS BORN IN1966 I HONOR ALL VETERANS!!

  • Diz is form the tv series, shot in the phillipines, no?

  • Форрест Гамп же

  • Although the terrain doesn't match up here to me the Huey's were a great way of cooling off and one hell of a interrogation vehicle..Class of 70-71.

  • who ever dislike this song disliked the world and the vets of the nam war god bless you vets

  • the jungle.... always the jungle

  • my wife lost a brother his remains did not come home fuck jane fonda

  • Please Vietnam Vets ..shoot Justin Bieber and make this video and song No. 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was a door gunner in 68. USMC volunteer. came home and had to face a neighborhood mother of a guy who didn't. you never forget and forever hate those who turned their backs on us.

  • @ewigginbob Amen brother, Welcome Home. '71-'73 Cu Chi

  • god bless the men who never came home to be a parent or grandparent. i will never forget.

  • My Grandfather was with the 101st airborne in 'nam. He saw on of his best friends get a hole the size of his head blown out of his chest. He was a chopper gunner. their average lifespan was about 30 scnds. Guess he ws lucky. He had to leave wen a 'nade exploded near him, and shrapnel got all into his back. he saw good men die during his tour. Wait, good boys. They were what? 19? 20? 'nam was a fucked up time. Any of you kids who think "War is easy! Im a MS in blackops!" so fuck urself.

  • @TheWhisperInside So true.....

  • Run, Forest, run !

  • when I was in we were called baby killers, now they are all hero's

    whats up with that

  • @oregonboy55 ill tell you whats up, a bunch of kids growing up on nothing but video games to glorify terrible conflicts. I'm not going to lie,I am one of them, but i know far to many friends, and family that went to war. My grandpa opened up to me about it the year he died, he was a combat medic in korea, can't say how wrong games are these days.... These people in my generation have no idea...

  • Let's make it look pretty, why don't we? This was when Fogerty didn't have control of how his music was used. Why not show how long it takes for the bird to build up enough lift to get off the ground. I hate these fantasies. Maybe Seal Teams dig them but draftee citizens know better.

  • " I aint no military son, son! "CCR

Check me out. Google: "FLYING CLOUD NINE on SoundCloud"

  • i like when i was in nam in 67-68 came back as baby-killers, now the men and women, we didnt have many women back then..but they are treated like heroes..i mean what the hell? i back are military 100%..we nam vets we were screwed over,

  • @ronpjlane i blame the hippies.

  • Fantastic Song .

  • i Use to watch Tour of Duty growing up.. in the 80's brings back the good times as a kid

  • That sure brought back memories of my days as a Huey chief...damn sexy job that was

  • I have been there and done that. Now I watch the video and all the anger and fear I felt at that time wells up. I wonder how long it will be before my children will need to take their place among the ranks.

  • @Vet63ful not long if you ask me. I fear that WWIII may be in the starting phases. What, with Russia being at America's throat about protecting Israel. That and the fact that Syria, the U.A.E., and Saudi Arabia are becoming rather aggressive towards American troops at their borders.

  • Would You guys like if Iran... China....or anybody like this would be flying over your country like this...... i dont think so ...... no oil there

  • @nativehero2007 when u join the military or drafted back then, we are there to do a job we dont question our orders, we need to get the job done if u don't like it u can leave this country! "if u cant stand behind the flag please support our troops" Semper Fe!

  • @nativehero2007 the vietcong war was no war about oil it was about comunism and america is no big fan of that the last time i looked or did that changed?

  • @ian14ned no, vietnam was trying to rule the world, so we went in and screamed, "THAT'S OUR FUCKING JOB!!!" then we started bombing them because they're yellow.

  • 這首歌真是該死的好聽

  • @Mnnamvet65 Thank you for everything you did!!! <3 <3 <3 & Thanks to all the vets too!!!

  • @awoowoowoo viet vets are a joke, a bunch of drunks and drug addicts. look at the vet admin records.

  • @hotmn4u Its plain for everyone here to see that YOU are the joke.

    Gavin

  • @Mnnamvet65 Ahmen to that.Served with Kiwi infantry in the Nam.Not many of us but we did what had to be done.Aussies in the Nam as well. This is not generally known.Music of that era was awesome.

  • @Mnnamvet65 dumass do u UNDERSTAND what the song is about?

  • @cornelwaugh woahhhh dont insult a vet like that. piece of shit. if i knew who u were....

  • @Mnnamvet65 honestly... mad respect. im joing the navy. i just enlisted. wish me luck

  • @Mnnamvet65 yeah its really sad because they had no pertection like they do now a days

  • @Mnnamvet65 Insightful and not in the slightest way attention-seeking. Good job.

  • @Mnnamvet65 dude you probably werent even in the war. you would be lucky to come back in a helicopter. and its funny because in the veitnam war you were only to ride in the helicopter a few times because we needed to clear grounds. dude stop trying to be a poser for the marines you were not in the war. you would be 1 in a million to ride a huey more than 3 times. you were lucky to fly in helicopters ive seen three guys step in death traps one of mine my friend.

  • great video

  • BEST ROCK SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God damn it. Now I have to go install Battlefield: Vietnam again.....

  • 'Nam defiantly had the best soundtrack.

  • what a bullshit war....how unkool can you get????????

  • Awww... Watching those HUEY's fly is for me is like playing cod for a douch kid... Awesome ^^

  • Only from behind the air 60 looking down on the dozen shades of green can you imagine how beautful it was. What memories!

  • @sargrntatarms more like a landmine

  • Good song but overrated, ccr have such beautifull songs that alot of people dont know. to bad.

  • "soldiers are murders" (K.Tucholsky)

  • @DJrockinXXL Soldiers are not murders. (me)

  • @LettuceGames

thank you sir for serving this country. freedom isn't free yet we never learn to thank those people that make it happen.its just we Americans always look at what we dont have instead of looking at what we do have, i guess its just ignorance. soldiers aren't murderers if they don't kill they will be killed by the enemy. a soldier once told me most of them dont even want to kill but if they dont kill the people that are shooting at them their buddies might get killed.

  • @DJrockinXXL "Soldiers give their lives for their country and ask for nothing in return except a funeral" (StalkingRainbow)

  • The goverment should help those poor vets who nearly lost lives in Vietnam. But do you know where all that money is going to? To foundations to help kids in Africa! I not we help people in America instead of a country that doesn't even heard of having to many kids!

  • @BeatleBoy244

    good point

  • only americans who lack IQ join the US military

  • @TuRkmEnOkaN HAHAHAHA you right! you have to be an absolute moron to enlist in our armed forces

  • @enchilada01

thats because your not going to defend ur country your going to kill innocent people and help murder, steal for politicans who will get rich of it

then when the war is over you will be thrown on the street with PTSD, no one will give a fuck about you cause the US wasnt in danger anyway.

so id say save the shit and dont join the military if ur in the US

  • @TuRkmEnOkaN Sad,sad,sad,god bless you brother,spread the word

  • Comment removed

  • @TuRkmEnOkaN You Know they got DRAFTED right?

  • @navypilot68

yes i know they got conscripted that is why these got no guilt, they cant help it to go there.

but nowadays, these boys who sign up and go to iraq, afghanistan theyr just helping with war crimes.

i can understand that iran is trying to become nuclear, so that you dont invade them and burn their country for their oil, if pakistan wasnt nuclear the US would have invaded them with the reason of ( the HQ of the taliban/al qaeda is there ).

  • @TuRkmEnOkaN

Haha, idiot. Oil? America gets less than 1% of our oil from Iraq. And Afghanistan? Theres no oil. So you can keep being a bitch, but you're not accomplishing anything. And rest assured, if Iran starts something, they're going to be feelin us for a few decades. People seem to forget that Saddam instigated the war by implying he had WMD's, and then refusing to let UN inspectors come in, and THEN ignored numerous warnings that if he didn't there would be war.

  • @CaptainAmerica322

    omg

I really have to explain everything to you dumbass..

ever heard of the military industrial complex?

ask urself howmuch US military equipment iraq bought after 2003...

ooooww u get it now dumbass? thats how the US economy keeps running, iraq purchased 36 F16 block52 recently, let me not speak about the last 7-8 years.

    Afghanistan has opium dumbass.

iraq had heavy sanctions from 1991,fuck u and ur UN investigation, the only 1 who got WMD,s and used it is the US

  • @CaptainAmerica322

your a patriot internet boy who yells "Oorah" everyday like a retard,

terrorists this that, look up fallujah deformed babies, then you know who the real terrorists is

then you will know why iraqis are fighting americans in iraq, then you know why there are resistance fighters ( not terrorists ).

btw about iran, ur not so smart are you

the US cant fund a huge war against iran cause it will destabilize the entire region, pakistan ( nuclear ) will be involved.

  • @TuRkmEnOkaN what aboyt 911

  • @TuRkmEnOkaN i mean about 911

  • @thelineman31

dont listen to him your just making him throw more anti american bullshit by commenting to him just leave the Iraqi alone this is a song about vietnam why the hell would anyone start an argument about current wars

  • @kolinmartz true good point man

  • i love this song

  • Ya Al Gore---you still are special, in your own mind!

  • I think it's impossible to listen to this song without seeing a Huey in flight! :)

  • WAR IS THE ANSWEAR

  • @wyattgoetz EDUCATION is the "answear". Doncha kinda maybe think? Hmmmm stupid?

  • get some

  • To be focused....Vietnam was a war between USA and The Soviet Union. Free politics versus communism. Soviets were less directly involved. We got way too involved. Vietnamese friends have told me the North gave up when we bombed Hanoi harbor. Claimed we wouldn't let them give up? Vietnamese told me we were going nuts there playing war games. Overpowering left and right. Ridiculous. It was just wrong. So we got out.

  • @1rnaple The videos of the North Viet tanks rolling through the gates at the US Embassy grounds in Saigon really looked like they "gave up".

  • @VoodooPolitico You people who are interested in why. You should read Colin Powell's Biography. Very interesting. You should read what the Soviet's had to say to General Powell about Vietnam! The Vietnamese were pawns in the cold war. Sad, but true. Then, our greatest weapon ever used to overthrow the Soviet Union was FOOD. Also Tip O'Neill's Biography gives more input on the politics involved. Finally 9/11, Condalesa Rice's thoughts on the cold war when talking to the president of Russia.

  • i got a damn ad

  • i wonder if one person got attact dogs?

  • I was supposed to go to Vietnam. But i took a arrow to the knee.

  • I fought in vietnam once.......but i took a bamboo stick to the knee......

  • @dimebag2008

I took a bambooo stick to the knee, then I took a pungi stick to the knee

  • my friend that went to nam never talked about what happened there.

  • Tour of Duty was filmed really well for a tv show.

  • This is where the helicopter was truly born!

  • i hate seeing all of this trashtalk on the internet. fucking annoying.

  • @ThatIsWhatSheHasSaid Amen to that

  • WWWOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! US OF A BITCHES!!

  • USA muthafucka.

  • why do u keep showing same video over and over are u retarded the war was more than just jumping into a plane and jumping out and jumping in and out

  • 0:53 - BADASS!

  • A song as relevant today as it was in Nam!!!

  • that one dickhead who disliked it!!!!!

  • hell yes no dislikes

all good song should be like that

  • Came here because I just found out my Ex Dad in Law has been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Retired Army, non smoker, no vices, hard worker and up everyday at 0500. Oh yeah, he did 2 tours in Vietnam, USMC, in the bush. Charlie didn't get him but looks like Agent Orange wants a piece of him. I wish you a full recovery Chief, even though it looks unlikely. Hoorah.

  • y dont all you people who say "o ive been to Nam" and shit and just listin to the song, this aint debate class....and no im not gonna say i was in nam or im in the Marines, thats disrespectful to say your one of them, and yes im only 14.

  • @tajio101 Wow, an intelligent comment on YouTube. What a concept. I can't tell you how many times I've thought the same thing about nasty comments, and about all the disrespect the military gets on the internet. The sad thing is that none of this would happen in real life. It's only because of the anonymity of the Internet that people say these things.

  • @Echo115RS i cant tell if its sarcastic...

  • Hell ya NO DISLIKES!!!

  • epic video

  • we went over vietnam in history and i've seen movies and videos etc about it. the only thing is i don't quite understand why vietnam was such a nasty war. what made it any different from any other war that we have fought in?

  • @motomouth000215 The lack of public support, the drug problem, and the use of chemicals such as "agent orange" across large forests killing the trees and causing chemical burns to the general vietnamese population- "bringing back memories" of Shermans March during the Civil War.

in short though, it really wasn't any different other than the fact that it being televised meant that more people understood the horrors associated with war.

  • @motomouth000215 no idea. It's not like you get nice wars either.

  • @motomouth000215 The tactics used and the enviornment it was in, like the pits of hell

  • @motomouth000215 All war are nasty, it just was the first with tons of converage.

  • @motomouth000215 north and south Vietnamese look identical so u didn't know who was friendly and who was foe. so youd walk pass foe thinking friendlys and when u have ur backs turned theyd shoot you up and your dead. and it was when napalm started to be a big play in war by being dropped from helicopters

  • Good times back in nam!

  • @DeltaXUnit322 You were never in Nam and never even wore the Uniform, if you did you would know that Vietnam was a dirty dark fucked up war, probably the most fucked up war ever fought by America.

  • @November10th1775USMC I fought in Vietnam boy! i killed more people than your little head can count!

  • @DeltaXUnit322 I'm sure you fought in Vietnam. Thats why your bio says "Joing the Army", first of all the Military only accepts people that can spell basic words, and second of all they don't take blood thirsty sociopaths. Good luck to you.

  • @November10th1775USMC Joining the new side!

  • @DeltaXUnit322 Huh?

  • Comment removed

  • @November10th1775USMC The new start of future weapons!

  • @DeltaXUnit322 yeah yeah ok what happen next? oh yeah did you wake up?

  • @DeltaXUnit322 People who kill in war don't usually brag about it. Usually those who have killed stay quiet and try to forget about it. These are the people who really fought and killed in combat, not you.

  • @DeltaXUnit322 I could say I fought in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, 1st Gulf War, Somalia, and took over Saudi Arabia and mass murdered their population! BOY! IM A BADASS AND MAKE UP STUFF!

  • @DeltaXUnit322 respect to all warriors . hurraaaaaaaayy

  • @DeltaXUnit322 sure you did.. you are probably a 15 year old hormone boy you plays too much CoD

  • @DeltaXUnit322 BULLSHIT. You probably didnt even serve.

  • @DeltaXUnit322

I'm a candy packer boy! I packed more candy than your little head can count!

  • @DeltaXUnit322 Well REAL vietnam vets woulgnt talk like you

  • @DeltaXUnit322 So why did America lose?

  • @Easyandy100 America didn't 'lose.' America's politicians QUIT!

  • @dieselscience I think the USA did ultimately lose although I understand that there was an amendment to end military involvement in 1973, probably because it was looking like it was unwinnable. My question was really why was it unwinnable given the overwhelming firepower and technology of the US forces?

  • @Easyandy100 1975, actually. In order for it to have been a 'loss' would you please tell us the date that the US surrendered to North Vietnam? I'll give you a hint - Wiki will be of no help to you...

  • @dieselscience Ah. I don't know that much about it. That's why I was asking. I understand there was a 'withdrawal' but that's about it. Maybe there was no surrender as congress did not say it was a war? But I don't know why there was a removal of troops.

  • @Easyandy100 When I joined the US Army - more than 20 years ago, most of my senior cadre (instructors & commanders) were Vietnam vets. They described being 'held back' from beyond the levels of the generals & history supports that. They also pointed out the lessons, the USA never lost an engagement (battle) but since we obey civilian leadership, we quit when Washington ordered it.

  • @dieselscience It was very political as it was a political war in the first place I guess.

  • @Easyandy100 So many different reasons. I think, my opinion, was the JUNGLE was first the main enemy. The terrain. Impossible to fight, take and hold real estate. Then the Viet Cong-they were civilians. WHO could our troops trust? The South Viet military was worthless, weak and not motivated. It became an "American War" and not a Vietnamese war. ALSO- the DRAFT doesnt make for a good military.

  • @VoodooPolitico It's safe to say it was a disaster for USA with lots to lose to gain very little. Why did they bother? What threat could Vietnam be to the biggest economy in the world? Insane.

  • @Easyandy100 It was about mean old white jesus freaks in power in the US that had nothing to lose by sending our young men off to fight communism. Thats what it was about. Fighting the sneaky Chinese and the Soviet "reds". They HAD to stop the scourge of communism. Commies dont like Jesus. They didnt let the military Generals do the fighting and had career politicians as the ones making tactical and strategic decisions from the White House.

  • @Easyandy100 There are also all sorts of conspiracy theories involving large rubber companies who had rubber tree plantations there as well as the war being pushed by the military industrial complex to make them rich making bombs and bullets, etc...

Can you think of another war the US got into that made a huge fucking mess, wasted billions and overstated the threat? In the end, the US pulls out leaving a barely stable country that will soon fall apart? See a pattern?

  • @VoodooPolitico I'm afraid I do see a pattern. I was hoping for some overwhelmingly logical reason as to why the US went to Vietnam so there wouldn't be a pattern. It seems like the USA needs a righteous cause to justify itself. Strange behaviour.
