Rock band 1 and 2 drums will work with this game as well as the guitar/bass and mic.

I have Rock Band 1 and 2 (with RB2 instruments) and wondered the same thing. I got Guitar hero 5 and tried it out, and it worked! Being used to Rock band, I was new to tapping and slapping.Tapping- don't strum the guitar (use only the button notes when they are hollow) Slapping- don't press the buttons on bass (only strum) (when a line comes across the screen like the kick pedal for drums)

Rock Band is a different companies attempt at guitar hero. It should be compatible but Guitar Hero reps just dont mention them because it loses them money when another person buys Rock Band instead :)
