My blue hammer is at 500 because that's what I used to resurface it and it grabs too early when the lanes are dry. I need some oil to use it or I will need to change the surface to a higher grit. My blue hammer is not as blue as yours. It's more of a powdered blue. I sent you a link to a video I made of it. I didn't have my tripod or a 10 year old. A chair had to be the camera man. :)
An update on the new Blue. I just finished a session with the ball spinner, putting some surface on my urethane gear. From the reside on my towels and Abralon pads, it's pretty obvious that the new Blue definitely has a softer shell than my other gear, confirming why it shined up so much. So, the new Blue might not be the best choice if you're a lower rev player who needs some surface on the ball.
