  • love the video really good

  • this looks like one of the worst films ever!

  • watching this is like a punch in the gut, in a sort of good way

  • celine is wife material haha.i'd marry her at any church any time

  • Uh ... OK ... oO

  • Oh, I've watched this scene for a thousand times. And I will never know how much I love it !

  • Agree.. this is one of the most romantic moments ever depicted in a film..in its most simple innocent form.

  • Love u uploader... two thumbs up... :)

  • 21.07.2011

    4 years later,

yes, the world is huge, you will meet a special person, but all you can do is just let him go, let him fly... your heart got pain, totally. you tried to let him know that he is the world to you, but he is not yours, not belong to you only,,, I'd rather not meet him, to let my heart sleep, freeze, frozen like b4.... than meet him, can't reach to him, can't let him know that how I wish he could listen to my heart one time, he could give us a go... we are so far away...

  • My fav movie, i've watched over ten times.

  • The first time I saw these two acting together was in Linklater's Waking Life. It is a nice goose egg for fans of these two splended films. It doesn't interfere with the plot, one of them is dreaming that they are lying in bed with the other and they have yet another one of those interesting chats they seem to constanlty have. lol It's a rotoscoped cartoon of them. The scene is about twenty minutes into Waking Life (2002), and lasts about eight minutes.

  • the problem is there was no attraction between them, just tortured souls needing to talk

    BORING CHILDISH NEUROTIC DEPRESSING

  • @9000kms yep and that's how they fell in love...that's just how it happens sometimes...

  • After watching both and LOVING both...(btw RIchard Linklater and Ethan Hawke make me SO PROUD to be a Texan!) I honestly love Before Sunset more...maybe it's just because of where I am in my life now. A couple of years ago when I was the age they were in the movie, I did prefer Before Sunrise. They are both amazing though. Much love <3

  • Cannot express how much this movie means to me. I almost fall in love again everytime i watch this. One of the greatest movie's ever capture on film. Ethan is a legend and Julie is just so amazing in both the movies.

I almost melt each time she says "ME TOO"

The wonders of falling in love hey :-)

  • so agree with you! pure innocence and love...and movie-pure art!

  • I've lived this movie.

  • These two movies have some of the most poignant romantic scenes I have ever seen. Over the past few days I have watched them over and over again and I find myself haunted by them - even to the point that I dream about this and the last scene of Before Sunset. I am 57 years old, but I was once this age and I have memories of strong passionate feelings. Part of me wants to feel that way again. I don't know ... but it is at least something that I felt this way once - even if years ago.

  • @ptlump love your comment, me too had such a wonderful memories..

  • This is so lovely. I haven't seen "Before Sunrise" yet, but I have seen "Before Sunset". Beautiful movie. I love Vienna so much and very soon I'll find out what it's like to love Paris.. Thank you for putting this on Youtube. Hope you're having wonderful time wherever you are, dear Cziczeko!

  • @9494blahblah are you sure you watched the film?

  • i cant remember this scene at all

  • anybody know d director? Plz tell him to direct d second part.. I dont want to end this movie like this. I want this lovers to see again..

  • @shalinibejatsu there is a second film:"Before sunset", google it up

  • @mariachocoholic

thanks.. I 'ill watch the movie soon.

  • Nostagia is kicking in i love this movie and every movie thats not all lovie dovy this is the movie where it is at

  • @retardedforfun117 Not only did you use the incorrect word, as I am sure that you meant "you're", but your premise is weak. It is a great movie, but if you cannot accept that, or your tastes run differently, perhaps you should stay away from such clips of the film. Have a good day... and remember... Those that wish bad things, often receive them in their own life.

  • hawke is so good.

  • Very nice.

  • isn't this the nazi girl in the other movie (forgot title)? She has such kissable cheeks.

  • Just like the comment below said, he WAS struggling not to kiss her. That's the beauty of the scene. The tension created by the kiss that doesn't happen - we can all relate to that, and it is great filmmaking.

  • @dekoninck98 That's the beauty of the whole movie, everything in the movie is tangible and everyone can realte to something that is said or something that happens, in both movies actually. i liked how in the first movie she's very romantic and he's more closed off but in the second, they're older and their views on life and love have changed so much but they're still very much in love with each other.

  • oooh God, I LOVE THIS GUY!!!

  • Comment removed

  • It' seems so real...Jesse and Celine..

  • I loved this movie in high school, young love and exotic travel-- now I'm older and Ethan Hawke is 40! Where does the time go?

  • just ..... beautiful :-)))))

  • if i was in Ethan Hawke's position, i would be struggling so damn hard to not reach over and kiss her!

  • YES YES YEEEEEEES :-)... its one of the beste scenes i've ever seen in a movie... i love the scenes, when the persons don´t speak and the faces, eyes and moments speak for themselves... this is a great example... apart from amelie this is the best romantic movie i can think of... so natural... the "telephone scene" is also great...

  • omg, i looooove this movie and the sequel, for all the moments like this in both of them. i believe in both of these movies, i love the story, the feelings, the truth, love, all of it. i am a hopeless romantic, and PROUD of it! :) love is life, life is love. period. may we all find our true soulmates, becuz it is then that we are complete, that we breathe, we live. you get my point. for all of you who disagree with me, please be gentle in your comments. (gulp). :) all the best to everyone! :)

  • @gaak74 keep living with love. i hope to feel this way.

  • I also like the ending of Before Sunset.......Maybe in the year 2015 they'll make another film.

  • I totally agree this is one of the best movie scenes ever. The song, the scenario, the perfect acting...it totally captures those awkward moments before a couple who are falling in love have even kissed.

Actually, I should correct myself: This is one of the best MOVIES ever.

  • MY FAVORITE PART!

  • Merci !!! i love this scene

  • i love the way they smile to themselves for the feeling they have for each other <3

  • scene looks nice, but i fear that the movie in whole is just a bit to gay for my taste. maybe im missing out of something, i dont know.

  • Gänsehaut überm Rücken und Tränen in den Augen und ein Lächeln....

  • I love the feeling of that scene.. it's one those feelings you'll never forget once you get it!

  • kinda perfect, dont know how to feel :(

  • love it so much!!

  • omg i cried!

  • God! I love it, especially how they both keep licking their lips, smiling nervously, shy glances, the nonchalant look up at the ceiling by Ethan Hawke (hiding his embarrassment/lack of certainty).

When I watched this scene for the first time, I just couldn't believe he didn't kiss her (or she didn't kiss him)... but it was perfect. I'm glad it captures that moment in every romance there's ever been... to kiss or not to kiss, that is the question. ;-)

Really beautiful movie. That is love. 100%

  • @cantecleer I couldn't believe they didn't kiss either. But that happens in real life too.

  • Honestly, I kept rewinding back to the beginning of this scene over and over again.

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE

  • Amazing scene. So real.

  • this is pure and naive, which i can watch it over and over again. I love this scence so much!

  • Jesse is so cute here

  • this is the type of movie where you never ever ever want it to end

  • @payatntall well you DO know about the sequel ,right? Before Sunset.

  • @payatntall that is soooo true!

  • @payatntall

    this movie is life,,,,

  • this scene is priceless. They're so inocent and the fact that they're nervous to look at eachother is so cute!

  • I think this same way...I wanted to cry and laugh...at the moment.

  • "the little child and the old lady" it´s how they see each other.

  • hey, for all you guys that like me love the '' before´s 1' movie, watch the '' waking life '' movie, and have a delightful surprise :D

  • I love this film.

  • indeed, it's one of the best scenes! it's pure naive romance. something scarce these days...

  • this wasn't the same Julie Delphy that I know in The Countess............

  • this is so true...

  • i love this movie♥

  • so it's been 2 years since u posted this, how are things going in your life?

  • Look at the way they looked at each other. OMG, how to rehearse tt?

  • Cziczeko, you are so right! The way Jesse looks at Celine... oohh, it's so damn sweet!

  • Before Sunrise and Before Sunset - one of my fav movies ever. Thank you!

  • it made me think that he chooses to be with her at the end of the story.

    am i right?

  • this is my fav part of the movie but i dont even really know why. it makes me smile whenever i watch it.

  • hope they'll end it with a part 3

  • what would the story line be?

  • My dear, life imitates art all the time. You will absorb what you project, and you appear to project all that is good in this world.

  • I just love what you wrote, and I'm pretty sure that some day you will meet a very special person. Thans for sharing, your words are lovely...

  • I like your comments! I like the scene very much too, a smile's on my face whenever I recall that.

Best regards to you too, greetings from Hong Kong ^_^

  • my all time favorite film, and that scene is perfection.

  • damn

    feeling uncomfy

  • I've always wanted to make a classic, romantic, intelligent, touching movie. These two movies are just it!

    Hope we get a trilogy.

  • I love this movie... It makes you feel horny because it's one of those feeling wherein you are with this girl... and it doesn't matter where, or why or who... you just want to spend time with each other... and eventually yes... s_ _. fucking sex. Yeah but I love this movie though.

  • wonderful words for a wonderful scene, Cziczeko.

Best regards to you too, greetings from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil =)

  • A glance is worth a thousand words!

Beautiful movie. And the sequel is also worth watching. The chemistry between Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy is just outstanding. Acting at it's best!

  • is there a sequel of this movie??

    ?

  • Yes, Before Sunset. It takes place in Paris, 9 years after their first meeting. A very good movie which was nominated for an Oscar in 2005.

  • oh thanx

    :)

  • ...this is "before sunrise" and the story was playing in vienna....

  • luv how he's about to laugh when that lady's voice starts singing. this is the greatest movie ever!!

  • Lovely intro. Best of luck to you in Warsaw.

For those that haven't seen the film, they are in a tiny listening booth at a record store, hence the tension. Very sweet.

  • yes.. this scene and this movie mean a hell of a lot to me, too.. thank you for posting them and for being such a nice soul, i wish you all the best, i know you'll get it, too..

  • Exquisite scene...

The way they look away from each other when the other looks at them is so beautifully done.

This is acting at its best.

Thank you for uploading this scene. I must have seen these two movies so many times...

  • love evertything you wrote...the way they met each other..no words..just beautiful glimpses..it is a dream..i strongly believe that beauty and happiness comes from small things like this!but how many see this...(?)..wish you find happiness!

sorry for the bad english!cheers from greece

but now i'll pu it on my ipod!!!! and the lyrics!!!

yeah the best scene... hahaha so classic.... the looks the give to each other!!!

    thank you!!!!

  • "I don't know whether I'll ever meet a person I could socialise with as much as this pair did..."

I thought the exact same thing when I saw this movie. Isn't it amazing?! even knowing they are acting it still looks so real. Made me wish I could some day meet such a woman on a train...great scene!

  • hey I'm from chile too.

love what you wrote there and this movie.

they are great actors the yseem so real

  • this is one of my favorite film scenes of all time! i'm so glad you posted this. and i agree with the person before me: i absolutely love what you wrote, so incredibly sincere, i got goosebumps! best regards from america

  • i didnt quite understand would be worth it to put wat this all means however i might be wrong as i have not seen the film

  • Watch both films, fall in love with someone, and lose her. Then you'll understand.

  • tenes razon

    esas miradas

    son tan profundas

acabo de ver la peli de nuevo

    es como mi decima vez

    y esa escena me mata

    me llena de ternura

es demasiado fuerte como para no pegarte en los sentimientos

  • I absolutely love this scene

saw it a bunch of times..never gotten stale

I especially love the music by Kath Bloom

  • I agree, this is one of the best film scenes ever...

no words are spoken, yet they say some much!

the inevitable kiss is floating between them

    thanks for posting

  • DUDE, SHE'S HOT :)

  • I think Ethan Hawke is extremely underrated in his looks.

i am in love whit these films, since i saw them, monts ago...

i really like your text, and i wish you all the best on your new life...!

    kisses form Spain! :*

  • he looks at her, she looks away, she looks at him and he looks away ... feeling her eyes on him ... her feeling his eyes on him ... both of them thinking the same things

    absolutely beautiful....

  • Great film

  • Thanks for the name of the song. I already downloaded. All that stupid romantic movies with great celebrities kissin each other at the end can´t punch the heart like this simple movie did.

  • great scene, lovely song too. Its called "Come Here" and its by Kath Bloom

  • They can´t keep the look on the other and lost the perfect moment to kissig. They act like two teenagers. And I felt exactly like Ethan Hawke here and loved Julie Delphy. Anybody knows the name of the song? Is beautiful!

  • first seconds... creeped the hell out of my skin...

  • qué película más mágica. me encanta esta escena.

  • I love this :)

  • This scene is perfect! So cute! :)

  • beautiful film and love this beautiful human interaction... these 2 fimls r one of my favourites, with such great songs

  • I just love the tension in this scene.

It doesn't take a kiss to show feelings. :)

  • beautiful!!!

  • YEAH COMMON YOU ROCK LITTLE BUNNY!!!

  • she was beautiful then. great movies.

  • she's beautiful now. I love this seen. No words, yet so much is felt. So much is said. So much is shared.

  • Er, scene, I mean.

  • Sometimes there are no words. Sometimes there are a million things you want to say, but you can't. Sometimes only music speaks.

  • I agree. Certainly one of the best moments in a Romantic movie. Before Sunrise is a masterpiece.

  • just watched this movie again after quite a few years and this is by far my favorite scene....thanks...

  • you gotta love the 90's

  • i love this movie!

  • whoaaaaa

    i really love it!

    both sweet smiles!

    wt a beautiful moment

  • before sunrise/sunset becomes a part of you while/after you see them. its so damn real, what i would call two of the best romance films of all time. nothing cheesy, lame, or fake about it (though im not sure if this kind of encounter happens often. but then again im only 16)

  • It will only happen once or twice in your life. When you're older you'll understand these movies more.

  • Hi, how is called this store??? Thanks!

  • the store is in the 6.district .its called teuchtler and is viennas oldest recordshop(60 years)adress .windmühlgasse 10

  • deply is a great actress!! ever!

    i love her!

  • There are no movies like this one anymore, thats why I miss the 90s soo much. I have seen this movie like 8 times. Ethan is so cute.

  • the best love scene I've ever seen..i'm glad to know I'm not the one who loves it..

  • how beautiful was ethan in this movie ...his best cute face !!!!

  • wow

  • This is my No. 1 movie. The best...

  • This scene always makes me laugh. The stares say it all.

  • Thank you Cziczeko for posting this, and for your lovely words. My best regards to you, wherever you are.

  • This scene is so beautiful!

I burst out in tears the first time I watched it.

  • This scene is so raw with emotion it is uncomfortable to watch. And I love it so much, and I wish this for everyone.

  • FAV MOVIE EVER

  • defined as attraction at its purest form.

    checkout Julie Delpys music....mmmmmmmmm

  • Memories ---- of days and nights gone past.

  • for all the ones that say that ethan is a bad actor (not you, the critics i mean) SHAME ON YOU this is the most beautiful love scene in the entire world of movies, ne need to kisses or showing skin or anything, the eys says everything and it is so touching... breathtaking

  • Cziczeko. I am inspired by your words. Could have said them myself. go well

  • :-)

  • i agree with ammayoga!

  • This is a really beautiful movie... each & everyone in the world can connect with this... & this scene was simply superb, almost poetic :)

  • Agree with everyone. The scene is breathtaking EVERY time I watch it.

  • this movie makes me cry everytime i see it :'(

  • o Melhor romance de todos os tempos!!!

  • Amazing chemistry and tension, just like in sunset when theyr in the car on the way to celines apartment. The best on screen couple ever

  • there were times in both movies where i have to look away because it feels like i'm intruding. they were really great in these movies.

  • i know.. i felt the same way.

they were always these little private moments between them when the tension was just so high. in sunset, there were scenes when I was thinking "just kiss her already" because i just couldn't stand the tension.

they're probably one of the best on screen, star-crossed couple ever..

  • when i first saw this scene in the cinema i could hardly watch them not being able to look at each other. it was such a small space and you were right in there with them...brillant-and 1 great love story

  • that's the best scene alright, I like how they look at each other and how they avoid seeing eye to eye. I was quite depressed after watching it and just kept telling myself that its just a movie. :(

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing, i love it

one of the best scenes ever- i totally agree, i have goosebumps when watching it!

  • Great scene. The same about the film.

  • I agree with you
