The St George's Cross was adopted from the flag of Genoa, which originates as far back as 1096. On the origins of the flag the Duke of Kent remarked: "The St. George's flag, a red cross on a white field, was adopted by England and the City of London in 1190 for their ships entering the Mediterranean to benefit from the protection of the Genoese fleet. The English Monarch paid an annual tribute to the Doge of Genoa for this privilege."[

Y esto no es hablar por hablar, el famoso y muy respetado abogado peruano Martín Camarena lo explica muy bien en su libro "La Conquista Del Mundo Por Los Peruanos".
more or 60 countries support the Argentina claim with USA (neutral in a belic conflict)
a person that born in the island that is a son of an ex britain soldier chose be an argentine citizen !
Sir Sandy Woodward, the retired admiral who led the British taskforce which set sail for the Falklands in 1982 said 3 weeks ago that the islands are close to be indefensible, that the UK needs aircraft carriers and the US help and the US reference about the islands is with the argentina name MALVINAS
The people in the Falklands want to stay part of Britain, that's what matters so tough shit Argentina. Also the Falklands are THREE HUNDRED miles away from Argentina. That's a bit far away from Argentina for them to be claiming it. What next, France claiming Channel Islands because they're close to France? Obviously not. Basically, fuck you Argentina. And don't talk shit about Imperialism, because if it wasn't for Imperialism you would not exist! Morons.
ARE VERY SURE THAT THE OIL EXTRACTED FROM THERE IS GOOD? The additive LES WILL BE VERY EXPENSIVE FOR OPTIMUM THE RAW .... SEEMS TO ME THAT SUCH missed BLACK GOLD AND MORE AFTER 28 YEARS IS AGREED? M M M IS COLOSSAL LOSS. LIED TO CITIZENS ON THE SUBJECT Falklands / OIL ........ MMMMM
If my memory is not wrong, the problem come from UK took over Falkland Island when those were under Argentine jurisdiction, then UK colonized them. Now, Argentina demands returning of islands, but UK says the Falkland island people already decided to belong to Common Wealth...
@Leivinn20 if anything it was the french and spanish then the uk. the uk left it islands because they were fighting the american war of independance, at which the argentinians took advantage until the british returned to reclaim their territory.when europeans first arrived the falklands were uninhabited, so were claimed as european territory, nothing illegal about that. the people as you said want to remain british
@kyototakeshi1 : As far as I Know UN approved a resolution in which requested to UK restart negotiations process again, do you believe hat UN resolution was unfounded?: why did UN make resolution 2065, on 1965?. Are you sure Argentina's claims are unfounded?.
@Leivinn20 yes i do believe they are unfounded the reason the un want negotiations is because they dont want another falklands war. the un are not saying the falklands have to be given to argentina. they just want a diplomatic understanding to be reached. there is no legal right that argentinahas to the islands. the inhabitants of the islands want to remain part of britain. ultimately they have the say. not the british or the argentinian government and especially not the UN.
@Leivinn20 lol as for resolution 2065 it does not state that the flakland islands should be given to (not returned) to argentina, buit instead should be made independant. from both countries. so i dont understand the point you are making. they are independant but are fiercely loyal to be part of britain and accept themselves as being british citizens, in their eyes and the eyes of the british people they are as british as people living in london, and we will defend their rights to live freely
@kyototakeshi1 what do you think what could happen if Venezuela decide make a territorial reclamation to United State about Florida State?..do you think UN would decide ask to both countries start negotiation process?. I think you are ignoring that Argentina has proof for supporting its demand.
@Lend2011 no all they have is that they claimed the islands after the spanish left argentina. 1. spain never gave up their claim. but this does not matter because britain claimed them before spain. argentina had only claimed them for 15 years before britain returned to th island after dealing with empire to expel the argentinians from illegally claiming the islands. fact. should america give the original 13 colonies back to britain. we claimed them see your argument is basxed on nothing
@Lend2011 you are clearly making an emotional plea. you feel sorry for argentina for some reason. let me guess, because your south american. truth is its obvious that your emotions blind you from the facts. you have been taking in by the rhetoric of the argentinian president and your own president who have done nothing but give a completely ridiculous and biased account of the claims for the island, based wholely in fantasy.
@kyototakeshi1 The reclamation is made to England, and the Falkland citizens are British citizens. You argument is null. UK does not have right to give the independence to Falkland Island because there is a reclamation in process.
@Leivinn20 you are talking semantics at the time we took the falklands back britain and england were interchangeable. truth is britainlaid claim to the islands before the spanish, which the argentinians took the islands from, wse renewed our claim and took them back. they have no right to reclaim the falklands as they shouldnever havebeen claimed byargentina. i could claim argentinabutdoesnotmakemy claim valid. like argentinas claim for the falklands.its argentina acting imperialist lol idiot
@kyototakeshi1 I think our discussion has finished, according to you the UN has been approving resolutions year by year during decades against the obvious truth, it means, UK is the legitimate owner of Falkland islands...come on!
I think that if UK and US realize the amount of money lost by them due to Falkland Island conflict, they would come back those islands today. Left-wing politicians use islands as cause for political struggle, and they have lost a lot of market by that cause.
@dadecountyhustler305 ha ha you made my day mexicao on its own would take a twelve pound shit on the britain then kill them my back yard is bigger then that shity country
you sir are a fool, just because a country is small is no measure of there military might! look at the british empire at its hight still controlled by london! one little island ruling the world, more recently Israle is a tiny country with a much bigger bite than bark and the fact of the matter is brittan is still a world power and dont tell me mexico could, mate your country is a lawless heep in which drug lords run riot, you can't sort your own country out, let alone britan :)
Your a fucking idiot! ha the british economy is fine the only problem is europe because thats 40% of our exports ha if euro survies we'll be fine :) andd its the Falklands not malvinas p.s. ENGLAND For the win! :D xxx
@NiCe1TYLER i could be an idiot but you are blind , all the ¨first world ¨is melted into tears , i wont argue anymore with you , we used to be partners and enemies but i felt sad when the war began , i think GB was not the right enemy , there are strong links between GB and Argentina , greetings.
this is true maybe i am in a state of tunnel vision but thats a tunnel im stuck in son! and true it was a shame and still is a shame a stain on both countrys history . xxx
@dadecountyhustler305 Laughable !!! The Brits tried invading Buenos Aires in the past (circa 1800's) and were routed. The sun has set dumbo. Also The St George's Cross was adopted from the flag of Genoa (Italy), which originates as far back as 1096. On the origins of the flag the Duke of Kent remarked: "The St. George's flag, was adopted by England in 1190 for their ships entering the Mediterranean to benefit from the protection of the Genoese fleet. ."
now remembered after 28 years, there was no oil?. That your government asked them to lie on the oil of the islands was good?,, no no no, it is totally wrong of low quality, low octane engine oxidizer, the additive that you have to put very expensive which makes the price through the roof and fence. ja ja ja ja is very bad haha. got into a trap alone and 28 years after they remember. ja ja ja
@elbuscahuellas you dont understand anything about why we defend the islands, it has nothing to do with oil, that was'nt a factor 300 years ago and its not now. you are the one who bring up oil because that is not the motivation of the argentinians. truth is the people of the islands are british citizens and the government will defend them as if they were living in the centre of london. truth is the argentinians are only bothered about the land the british government care more for the people.ftw
@kyototakeshi1 You do not defend the citizens,,,, is the excuse colossal lie that the islanders were sheathed. But in fact the black gold that total perpetuation defended. But the black gold of very low quality does not fit modern times. Modern industry is on alternative fuels more healthy. So my dear Mr. really gain that will have very negative, they remembered 28 years after the great robbery exploit something that is not considered colossal loss for the citizens. It's just cheap politics.
@elbuscahuellas comeon then, tell me why do argentina have claim for the falklands. the british were first to chart the islands, when they were uninhabited, they settled their before the spanish or the argentinians. they assumed when the spanish left the islands that both they and the british gave up their claims for the island, but they did'nt they returned to the islands and took them back. proximity is not justification for a claim of ownership. the people of the falklands CHOOSE to b british
@kyototakeshi1 I remind Mr Chancellor Palpatian read story in depth. Do not be Mr. Harry P. I comment that the British were the ones who took a kick to the true Spanish crown ever. It is logical that people mess their origin to life imprisonment. But in Patagonia Argentina there are also many excellent people Welsh, Irish, etc.. etc. and is not meant to be English. They are treated well and are great people in the Argentine plataform in the Atlantic Ocean south of Argentina. Understand me?
@rugbydazz NO my friend,,,, are not "at all as gibberish ..... ",,,,,,, They were wrong very wrong with this issue .... very very bad ...... read more and see that they went very dear to all citizens, your policy colossally screw up your citizens. He erred by mathematical calculation. Acted pirates and will be charged nature of the error sooner or later ..... we'll see.
As Kingdomofdalriada said: You are a hypocrite, how can you call the British Imperialists, when your ancestors stole land from the Indigenous South Americans.
Your Ancestors came to what is now Argentina as a conquering force, you are not Indigenous to Argentina, you came from Europe and took land by force.
We will give back the Falklands after you give Argentina back to the Indigenous, native South Americans, and after you leave and go back to Europe
Anyhow Argentina has no right whatsoever on the islands, they're British territory and always will be.
Let's take another example: Does the UK has the right to govern Ireland since it's close to the UK? No it hasn't because the people don't want the UK to govern them. The population in the Falklands neither want Argentina to govern them and prefers Britain to do so.
@rulebritannia9 I will tell you the true history: Year 1520: The members of the expedition of Ferdinand Magellan first sighted the islands. One of the crew named Esteban Gomez defected of the expedition and returned to Spain, to award the discovery of the island to stand trial and claim it as part of the Crown of Spain. Later start the first Spanish expeditions to the islands.
@rulebritannia9 1740: On the islands there is a confrontation between the British fleet and the French fleet without a clear victor. Later, the French count Louis Antoine de Bougainville established a small settlement in 1764.
Spain protested to the French court by the occupation in its own grounds.
1765: The British landed on the island, called by the Spanish, "Trinidad" (East Malvina).
@rulebritannia9 1766: The Frenchmen recognize Spanish sovereignty over the archipelago with the condition that compensation be given to Bougainville to pay the establishment of the colony.
For 1770, the islands belong to Spain only, but British back in 1771.
1774: After an intense period of diplomacy and the risk of war between the two countries, the British abandoned their post on the island Trinidad.
@rulebritannia9 Britain then signed the "Treaty of Masserano" consolidated with the "Treaty of San Lorenzo", giving up its colonial possessions in the South American continent and its offshore islands.
1816: Argentina is born as a nation becoming finally independent of the Crown of Spain, assuming the sovereignty of the islands as a legacy of the Spanish Empire. The islands are renamed "Malvinas".
@rulebritannia9 1820: Arrives a warship and confirms the possession of the islands by Argentina, founding a new colony. This fact is quickly known in the UK, which has no objection.
1825: The United Kingdom recognizes the independence of Argentina and still without object to Argentina's sovereignty over the Falkland Islands.
1830: Born the first people on the islands ... They're Argentineans.
@rulebritannia9 Argentinean governor Luis Vernet boosts one of the first laws in the territory, which is a ban on seal hunting. The same year he captured the American ship "Harriet" for not complying with the established law, which made the U.S. ambassador to complain, as the British ambassador.
Following this incident, the United States did not recognize Argentina's sovereignty over the islands, while the USS Lexington was dispatched to the area to recover the confiscated.
@rulebritannia9 The captain Lexington led further their mission. He entered the islands using the French flag and giving friendly signaling. Thus the American troops could disembark and attack by surprise. This left the islands in a state of anarchy.
1833: Taking advantage of the archipelago was defenseless, the United Kingdom invaded the islands, expelled the local population, intimate to the Argentine governor and lowered the flag of Argentina putting in place the British flag.
@rulebritannia9 1842: The first colonial administration is created.
1908: The United Kingdom declared sovereignty over South Georgia, South Sandwich and Orkney.
1982: Argentina declares war on the United Kingdom over the sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands. After a brief confrontation in which Argentina was close to winning, the Malvinas are back in British hands.
@rulebritannia9 In the Argentina Constitution is ratified its legitimate and inalienable sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands, South Georgia, South Sandwich, Orkney and the corresponding maritime and island spaces, being an integral part of the country.
"The recovery of these territories and the full exercise of sovereignty, respecting the way of life for its habitants and according to the principles of international law, constitute a permanent and unwavering goal of the Argentine people".
@rulebritannia9 2010: Cristina Kirchner, president of Argentina, squeezes the British governments balls for they understand a good time that the empires are over, and Argentine governments to come will do the same until the United Kingdom to return the Malvinas its rightful owner.
Malvinas, geographical, historical and political, are 100% ARGENTINE.
@Moctezuma3012 lol the falkland islands were never argentinian, when the europeans arrived the islands were uninhabited the french laid claim passed to the spanish nothing was said then the british took over. the argentinians took advantage when troops werent posted there during the american war of independance until we reclaimed it. truth is you dont have a leg to stand on. 0% argentinian the issue is only ever brought up if the president needs more votes at election time lol
lol dont you think the argintinan goverment should be focusing on poverty and stuff rather than worrying about a small island in the atlanti, a bit childish it like if your brother haves somthin then you want , idiotic
ha ha well tell me what a civil war means then idiot.if you are more superior intulectually.
and do you want this ginger haggis munching cunt to come down there and kick your faggot tea drinking bucked tooth acne coverd face in.like we did already.
It does'nt matter what british or argentians say about the falklands - it is the people who live there who have a right to decide - its a seperate country that falls under the protection of the commonwealth & argentina didnt help its arguement by holding the civilians who have lived there for generations hostage after a military invasion to try and annex it. it was uninhabited after the dutch then french abandoned it. Argentina is the america of spain and italy - no historical right whatsoever.
No doubt about British sovereignty, that´s not true at all.British arguments: 1. Discovery False 2. Occupation false, look at the map where is Port Egmont (clandestine settlement), is a small Island far north west and look where is the Argentinean capital until the 1833 invasion and in April 1982.3.International Treaties, all against Britain 4. Self-determination, is the only argument used by Britain diplomacy for ages because it is the less weak.Respect for UN resolutions.
@ilfabi10 Britain controls the Falklands legally under international law. That we discovered it or not is irrelevant. The Argentinians were wiped of that islands more than a hundred years ago. You are wrong - THE STRONGEST ARGUMENT is the self-determination argument, as that is what the people want! Would you vote to remove thousands of people from their home so you can satisfy your ill placed pride? The time for empires is over, but we are left with what we took.
It would be funny Argentinian troops control the area in Kandahar, LOL then after one hour the Taliban would control the whole country...but that does not matter the italians and galizians from Buenos Aires will send the poor indians from out North to do their dirty job anyway like they did in the Falklands while they all sit in Buenos Aires behind a computer threatening Pathetic...
All you brithis go take a good fuck to yourself. Your former imperialistic nation only can be brave bombing helpless countries kissing the ass to uncle sam. And not only is pathetic, also you traitor and criminal terrorist goverment ordered to bomb a ship with hundreds young conscripts and the ship was sailing out of war zone back to Argentina. Hypocrites.
There is a phrase in Spain the resumes clearly what Argentina is "buy an argentinian in a flea market for what he is worth and afterwards sell him for what he thinks he is worth" Argies the most hated nation in the America's acts like a bully with two small islands who don't want to be with them and who can blame them? would they want to be ruled by a bunch of lazy good for nothing second rate italians with serious delusions of grandeur
They claim that the people from the islands should not be there, but what about them? their ancestors murdered thousands of indians killing 99% of them and leaving a small minority who live in total poverty in the northern regions. The argies are descendents of criminals and left overs Spain and Italy did not want The lower classes of these countries the righfull land of Argentina belongs to the Indian
Traitor and terrorist government? what is this thing? what sort of language is that? You can't blame him he descends from Criminals or toothless peasants, its hereditary...anyway do the argies really think Obama is going to support Argentina, the US has a special relation with Britain if America did that then we would pull our troops out of Afghanistan, Iraq, etc...lets see what America's new friend Argentina gives them LOL they can go and ask the argies to send troops to Afghanistan then
yes i know you can only use the word fuck since your toothless peasant galizian mother and your zoophilic sicilian father could not give you more your intelligence is so low that you blame us for you sending conscripts (from the norhthern province which you treat like crap)? its not our job how you organize your stupid army or who your generals send in a war you Sicilian fuckwitt
258796100 - SHUT UP YOU DAMN IDIOT - Argentina - keep off the Falkland's - they belong to Britain and alway will do. Looks like we will have to kick your ass again. Argentina's economy is in ruins - so sad.
@rangers11000 Obviously your lack of manners is an indication of poor education. that's why I'm not going to ask you to understand what I meant to say.
But I'd suggest you to put your neurons to work before it's too late.
ha ha and the fact that you think you can sum up someones education by a comment left on youtube shows your lack of education, and you have also showed you lack education by calling the united kingdom which is four separate countries England.
@rangers11000, Well, evidently you didn't like my first comment about the near end of imperialism, where I mentioned "UK" and England. But of course you didn't have the necessary knowledge to contradict it, so you jumped in to insult and criticize me for mentioning England.
When I said "put your neurons to work" I meant inform yourself. Because if you did, you'd know that England is the root of Anglo imperialism.
One book for you to start is WHO RUNS THIS PLACE? By Anthony Sampson
AND HOW IS ENGLAND THE ROOT OF ANGLO EMPERIALISM,IF THE UNION WHICH STARTED AND EMPIRE WAS STARTED BY A UNION OF THE TWO MOST POWERFULL FORCES IN BRITAIN.you dont know what you are talking about if you think that england was the root of the empire.the second city in the uk at the height of the empire was glasgow in scotland.and scolaand still had its own royal family and so did england,so tell me how did england start the empire.
@rangers11000 I know you have many questions about history. Study it , you'll see that to form the UK, England took over Scotland. But time has come for the Scottish National Party to regains Scotlands sovereignty . Unfortunately I don't have time to help you, besides it's your job to get informed. Of course it's very difficult to find all the answers you need, specially when they are kept well hidden on the pages of the books of any public library.
ha ha are YOU SERIOUS.you say you know about history gha ha what a fucking joke, the scots forced england out of scotland you fucking idiot.have you never seen braaveheart, thats whatbthat movie is made about, and the jacobite war was a scottish civil war, with highlander catholics fighting the pro uk protestant south,so england have necer ever took over or conquerd scotland you fucking idiot.you are trying to lecture me about history but you say that england conquerd scotland, lol,
@rangers11000 You really know fuck all don't you! Braveheart was a historical account (Hollywood historical at that so the only thing correct was the names lol) of wars during the 13th-14th centuries, eventually the hammer of the scots prevailed though. And the jacobite rebellion was NOT and internal scottish war either. You may have the upper hand over the idiots above but not me mate.Iv got degrees in just about every period up to the industrial revolution....good luck.
@rangers11000 Do i want a medal? No degrees are enough thanx. However il let you carry on spouting your ill informed bullshit now i think historical facts are lost on you!! You will not be told, even by somebody who is intelectually superior to you.I know what a civil war is, its you that clearly does not. Fucking ginger hagis munching prick.Run along and clean the wheels on your house hahahahahaha
scotland are famous for being the only force to conquer the english army in 2 centuaries,ha ha you seriousily are and idiot, the uk was formed by a union between scotland and englands royal families, which were leaders of two soverign countries, that went own two form the empire of THE UNITED KINGDOM,i thought the name was self explanitory.
you are obviousily bigheaded person who thinks he knows about other countries history.
@rangers11000 just to clarify, I said "took over Scotland" but I never meant it was done by force. As you may know, deceit was always a powerful tool for the monarchy. That union you talk about was done against the will of the people on both sides.
I have the perception that you believe that royal families are or were nationalist or somehow they care about the people below them.
Now excuse me if I don't follow you in this "interesting" argument but I don't want to make a career out of it.
if people diddnt want to join the union on both sides then why was there a civil war in scotland, the north wanted indipendance and the south wanted to join union with england and wales,so the obviousily did want to join.
and if england have took over scotland then how was gordon brown the recent pirme minister scottish, and he was running the uk and making all englands desistions, tell me that.
@kingdomofdalriada I'd like to mention that no one lived on the islands when they were first discovered by John Strong, so they indigenous are the British settlers....
@Harleken960 u seriously r an idiot. look up imperialism.i assume u refer 2 the hegemony of other nations. 1. when europeans 1st came 2 the falklands no nation claimed them as their own.they passed french to spanish to british control.the islanders are british citizens. the acts of aggression towards the islands by the argentinians and the inability to listen to the inhabitants wishes are both signs of argentinas imperialism. there only 1 pirate and thats the argentinians.
It doesn't matter how much support Argentina has. They don't own them. Period. They have literally no legal basis for their claims. Now stop whinging about it because they don't have a leg to stand on.
Argentina is not alone this time. Fortunately, compared to 1982, most Latin American governments support Argentina and will support it in case of war. And countries like Brazil and Venezuela for example have enough weapons, resources and military to fight alongside with Argentina for a long time.
Brazil and Venezuela have the weapons yes - but Britain imports a LOT of goods from those countries and trade is the only thing keeping them afloat. If they warred Britain that would stop.
Britain also trains a lot of Brazilian and Venezualan troops - did you know that?
They are all supporting Argentina because they are scared if they dont it makes them a target to other latin powers.
Also - Argentina needs the UN for a lot of its trade and financial ability. It relies on help from the UN and other diplomatic organisations. Warring Britain over such a small Island (who doesnt want Argentinian rule anyway) would severely damage their reputation and would harm their chances of future appeals of any sort of aid or help.
Also - Britain have state of the art equipment and a bigger garrison there. Combine that with the bonus that being on the defensive on an island brings and they
could out-number Britain 10 to 1 and still lose. Add that to the fact Argentina would be invading with World War 2 era ships and soldiers with little training and compare that to the fact Britain has Royal Marines and state of the art Ships and Aircraft defending the islands and we are in no danger whatsoever.
The only reason Argentina is making these claims, is to take the focus away from the terrible crises going on in there. It's a cheap trick which isn't fooling anyone.
Brazil isnt going to back Argentina ina war that is ridiculous, Chavez also is a clown he just brags and brags but when things start heating up he will do nothing.
@258796100 No they don't. And no everyone doesn't know that. In Australia we know that South America in general is prone to massive corruption, which it seeks to detract attention from using diversionary tactics, in this case an illegitimate claim to a group of Islands claimed long before Argentina existed.
The Falkand Islanders are self governing, an attack is nothing short of an illegal invasion.
Oh yeah....The Falklands is now an associated territory of the EU:-
watch?v=Gg0YdKrM0II
Russia Today just forgot to mention that bit lol. This is why Brazil is now negotiations with the UK over a deal there. Europe would crush South America like an ant.....
@258796100 oh, your on your period, lovely *sarcasm* anyhow, the falkland islands were claimed by the british empire in 1690, 80 years before spain, france or anywhere else (except the dutch who didn't want the island)
@258796100 idiot the falklands islands have never been part of argentina you idiot. the people of the falklands islands have stated they want to be british, thus there is one country acting likean imperialist. thats the argentinians. the argentinians have no right to claim the falklands does not matter how man people support them.
@258796100 yet the people of the falklands want nothing 2 do with argentina, they are fiercely independant, yet the government of argentina wants them 2 be forced to comply. well 4 all the countries that support argentina, they are idiots. they should actually read up on the history of the falkland islands. uninhabited before europeans arrived, they only want them back because of oil, they dont care what the natives want, the definition of undemocratic imperialism on the part of argentina ftw
@258796100 The Falklands dont belong to argentina, why should they? Why dont u give back argentina to the TRUE argentinians, the native indians. Oh yeah, u cant because you murdered every single native. U stole argentina from the natives, and u complain about Britain stealing the falklands off u? Atleast we didnt commit genocide like u. The people living in the Falklands have the right to decide their own fate,U are acting like the imperial power trying to impose argentine rule on them.

Lend2011 8 months ago
@Lend2011 no all they have is that they claimed the islands after the spanish left argentina. 1. spain never gave up their claim. but this does not matter because britain claimed them before spain. argentina had only claimed them for 15 years before britain returned to th island after dealing with empire to expel the argentinians from illegally claiming the islands. fact. should america give the original 13 colonies back to britain. we claimed them see your argument is basxed on nothing
kyototakeshi1 8 months ago
@Lend2011 you are clearly making an emotional plea. you feel sorry for argentina for some reason. let me guess, because your south american. truth is its obvious that your emotions blind you from the facts. you have been taking in by the rhetoric of the argentinian president and your own president who have done nothing but give a completely ridiculous and biased account of the claims for the island, based wholely in fantasy.
kyototakeshi1 8 months ago

That your government asked them to lie on the oil of the islands was good?,, no no no, it is totally wrong of low quality, low octane engine oxidizer, the additive that you have to put very expensive which makes the price through the roof and fence. ja ja ja ja is very bad haha. got into a trap alone and 28 years after they remember. ja ja ja
elbuscahuellas 1 year ago
@elbuscahuellas you dont understand anything about why we defend the islands, it has nothing to do with oil, that was'nt a factor 300 years ago and its not now. you are the one who bring up oil because that is not the motivation of the argentinians. truth is the people of the islands are british citizens and the government will defend them as if they were living in the centre of london. truth is the argentinians are only bothered about the land the british government care more for the people.ftw
kyototakeshi1 8 months ago

We will give back the Falklands after you give Argentina back to the Indigenous, native South Americans, and after you leave and go back to Europe
rulebritannia9 1 year ago
Anyhow Argentina has no right whatsoever on the islands, they're British territory and always will be.
Let's take another example: Does the UK has the right to govern Ireland since it's close to the UK? No it hasn't because the people don't want the UK to govern them. The population in the Falklands neither want Argentina to govern them and prefers Britain to do so.
Point is: Live with it. The islands are British.
rulebritannia9 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 I will tell you the true history: Year 1520: The members of the expedition of Ferdinand Magellan first sighted the islands. One of the crew named Esteban Gomez defected of the expedition and returned to Spain, to award the discovery of the island to stand trial and claim it as part of the Crown of Spain. Later start the first Spanish expeditions to the islands.
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 1740: On the islands there is a confrontation between the British fleet and the French fleet without a clear victor. Later, the French count Louis Antoine de Bougainville established a small settlement in 1764.
Spain protested to the French court by the occupation in its own grounds.
1765: The British landed on the island, called by the Spanish, "Trinidad" (East Malvina).
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 1766: The Frenchmen recognize Spanish sovereignty over the archipelago with the condition that compensation be given to Bougainville to pay the establishment of the colony.
For 1770, the islands belong to Spain only, but British back in 1771.
1774: After an intense period of diplomacy and the risk of war between the two countries, the British abandoned their post on the island Trinidad.
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 Britain then signed the "Treaty of Masserano" consolidated with the "Treaty of San Lorenzo", giving up its colonial possessions in the South American continent and its offshore islands.
1816: Argentina is born as a nation becoming finally independent of the Crown of Spain, assuming the sovereignty of the islands as a legacy of the Spanish Empire. The islands are renamed "Malvinas".
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 1820: Arrives a warship and confirms the possession of the islands by Argentina, founding a new colony. This fact is quickly known in the UK, which has no objection.
1825: The United Kingdom recognizes the independence of Argentina and still without object to Argentina's sovereignty over the Falkland Islands.
1830: Born the first people on the islands ... They're Argentineans.
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 Argentinean governor Luis Vernet boosts one of the first laws in the territory, which is a ban on seal hunting. The same year he captured the American ship "Harriet" for not complying with the established law, which made the U.S. ambassador to complain, as the British ambassador.
Following this incident, the United States did not recognize Argentina's sovereignty over the islands, while the USS Lexington was dispatched to the area to recover the confiscated.
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 The captain Lexington led further their mission. He entered the islands using the French flag and giving friendly signaling. Thus the American troops could disembark and attack by surprise. This left the islands in a state of anarchy.
1833: Taking advantage of the archipelago was defenseless, the United Kingdom invaded the islands, expelled the local population, intimate to the Argentine governor and lowered the flag of Argentina putting in place the British flag.
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 1842: The first colonial administration is created.
1908: The United Kingdom declared sovereignty over South Georgia, South Sandwich and Orkney.
1982: Argentina declares war on the United Kingdom over the sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands. After a brief confrontation in which Argentina was close to winning, the Malvinas are back in British hands.
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 In the Argentina Constitution is ratified its legitimate and inalienable sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands, South Georgia, South Sandwich, Orkney and the corresponding maritime and island spaces, being an integral part of the country.
"The recovery of these territories and the full exercise of sovereignty, respecting the way of life for its habitants and according to the principles of international law, constitute a permanent and unwavering goal of the Argentine people".
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@rulebritannia9 2010: Cristina Kirchner, president of Argentina, squeezes the British governments balls for they understand a good time that the empires are over, and Argentine governments to come will do the same until the United Kingdom to return the Malvinas its rightful owner.
Malvinas, geographical, historical and political, are 100% ARGENTINE.
Moctezuma3012 1 year ago
@Moctezuma3012 lol the falkland islands were never argentinian, when the europeans arrived the islands were uninhabited the french laid claim passed to the spanish nothing was said then the british took over. the argentinians took advantage when troops werent posted there during the american war of independance until we reclaimed it. truth is you dont have a leg to stand on. 0% argentinian the issue is only ever brought up if the president needs more votes at election time lol

Argentina is the america of spain and italy - no historical right whatsoever.
rulebrittaniaPTBB 1 year ago 4
No doubt about British sovereignty, that´s not true at all.British arguments: 1. Discovery False 2. Occupation false, look at the map where is Port Egmont (clandestine settlement), is a small Island far north west and look where is the Argentinean capital until the 1833 invasion and in April 1982.3.International Treaties, all against Britain 4. Self-determination, is the only argument used by Britain diplomacy for ages because it is the less weak.Respect for UN resolutions.
ilfabi10 2 years ago
@ilfabi10 Britain controls the Falklands legally under international law. That we discovered it or not is irrelevant. The Argentinians were wiped of that islands more than a hundred years ago.

Dear Eiraha, this is not 1982.
Enigmaticland 2 years ago 2
Yeah, this is 2010.
We still have state of the art weaponry and tactics, along with highly trained troops.
Argentina are still using highly out-dated tactics and their military is poorly trained and poorly disciplined.
So, if Argentina try to take it again we will still win.
I was pointing out that Argentina does not own the Falklands because they were beaten.
Argentina, in the last two years, have owned the islands for a total of THREE MONTHS.
They have the least claim to it than anyone!!
Eiraha 2 years ago
Argentina is not alone this time. Fortunately, compared to 1982, most Latin American governments support Argentina and will support it in case of war. And countries like Brazil and Venezuela for example have enough weapons, resources and military to fight alongside with Argentina for a long time.
Enigmaticland 2 years ago
They won't support Argentina militarily.
Argentina wont win the UN claim either.
Eiraha 2 years ago
Also - Argentina needs the UN for a lot of its trade and financial ability. It relies on help from the UN and other diplomatic organisations. Warring Britain over such a small Island (who doesnt want Argentinian rule anyway) would severely damage their reputation and would harm their chances of future appeals of any sort of aid or help.
Also - Britain have state of the art equipment and a bigger garrison there. Combine that with the bonus that being on the defensive on an island brings and they
Eiraha 2 years ago
could out-number Britain 10 to 1 and still lose.
