the thing that I don't understand about these shoot-outs is, who even turns their iMac's off?? mine goes in sleep mode at night time and it get's switched on in 2 seconds at the touch of a key the following day.

I didn't think an 800 mhz iMac G4 could run Leopard, since its minimum spec is an 867 mhz machine. I only ask because one of my macs is also an iMac G4 800. It would be good to see Leopard running on that, but I don't think possible. I may be wrong...

leopard can be forced to run on G4's below 867MHz via open firmware or software like Xpostfacto. So yes, its quite possible.

It depends, I've heard stories about Macs as slow as 533MHz running Leopard just fine. But of course, it may run, but I doubt it would fly.

i have it running just fine on a powermac g4 (gigabit) 400MHz with 256 MB RAM... just make sure you install OS 9.2 and all the necessary firmware updates first.

well sometimes you want to save money- and the old imac is a good computer. its not as advanced, but it can be turn into a good computer to store lots of things, so installing leopard is not a bad idea

Yeah, a dell runs windows though :)

Try clearing start-up programs - click start>run>type "msconfig" and hit enter>Click the start up tab> un-tick programs you don't need when windows boots :) It helped me tons removing crap like quicktime, skype, msn etc. from starting when windows starts :) (p.s. this doesn't mean the programs are unistalled just stopped from starting when windows does)

Yeah I've got a bunch of crap I don't use. I've got a thingcalled "CC Cleaner" which basically deletes cookies and temporayr internet files and that helps a little. But yeah I wish I had a Mac:(

In fact I own in the video demonstrate how the iMac G4 is still a great computer, both in design and in function, I believe the only delay is due from the hard disk that I changed for more space (300GB) iMac G4 been (in my opinion) the best computer at home, which is why I like. ;)
