Cliffey1989. Whats ur problem with cyclists, we were on the roads before cars, how do you think your great great grandparents use to get around pre ww1 days? Rode a push iron, I don’t want to beat the shit out of everyone who cuts me up.
@cliffey1989 by that logic pedestrians are not allowed to cross the road because they don't have an MOT?! Calm down they're only cyclists. All that anger won't be good for you
i reckon it should be legal to hit push bikes if there in your way and punch the riders if you are a pedestrian dont pay tax nor insurance stay off the road nor do they have to have an mot
the pedestrian shouldn't have been there as she had obviously started crossing after the lights had changed, but the cyclist was at fault for not reading the situation and going to fast.
Nope - this isn't a pedestrians fault. It's another self centred lycra lover. Even if you ignore all the things he was doing wrong before the bump like turning in a straight lane, undertaking, failing to signal, etc there's a line in the highway code that says once a pedestrian has stepped onto the carriageway they have right of way. Of course lycra lovers don't read the highway code, carry insurance or plates so they don't give a fuck what the rules are and this is the result. Hope it hurt.
I saw something pretty similar to this in Edinburgh about 12 years ago. Cyclist pelts through a red light (where other drivers and cyclists are stopped), hits an old woman knocking her down and flies off his bike.
@dannyjacobs88 There is no cycle lane on this junction or any of the roads surronding it. Typical motorist making an argument and hating over nothing.
What i've said on other shytclists videos is right, they deliberately try to cause accidents so they can jump up and shout shit like "you shouldn't of been walking there", "your on camera you idiot" it's quite obvious the cyclist drove into the ped to teach the ped a lesson, not to walk in front of a mighty eco-friendly cyclist
1. the cyclist was in the straight on lane not either of the 2 left turn lanes 2. he didnt signal his intention to any other traffic just shot across cutting off another cyclist 3. cyclist hit pedestrian from behind. I hope the spanner got road rash!
The cyclist was going too fast - 'only drive or ride at a speed which you know you can stop in time for any approaching or developing hazard' - the numerous people (not just the lass the cyclist collided with) were crossing well in advance of the cyclist coming round the bend - he should of slowed more when he was on approach as he must have seen them before entering the bend.
As a cyclist I have to say the cyclist here was in the wrong. My argument in this circumstance is that it is clearly a very busy area and it is quite reasonable to forsee that peds could step out at any time, other road users could be distracted etc. Everyone on the road should be moderating their speed so that they can react in time when this sort of thing happens. If we also add in his turning right from a straight on lane......
Who pays when pedestrian is knocked down by idiot cycle rider? Cyclists want everything their own way - they go through red lights, ride through pedestrians on pavements, and any contact with a vehicle is never their own fault of course.
@conkeroonee " cyclists should pay insurance " Why? I'm insured when I ride. It was a free add on, on my car insurance. It costs pennies to 3rd party insure cyclists as they don't tend to kill people our damage as much stuff as motorists.
There are more uninsured motorists on the road than there are cyclists altogether. Let's sort that way more serious problem out first shall we? Or how about insuring pedestrians as well?
@conkeroonee A large number of cyclists are insured. Also as already mentioned elsewhere in these comments, there are far more uninsured motorists on the road than uninsured cyclists. Add to this the fact that most accidents caused by cyclists are minor and rarely end up in death or serious injury of third parties, and you can see why it is generally not considered important by the government or police.
@conkeroonee MMost of us already have insurance to use the road anyway. What you wont find is any of us paying is any road tax because we don't pollute when on our bikes. For that mattter Horses don't pay any tax either and they also leave great steaming piles in the road which are good for the rhubarb or rose bushes too! lol!
@OhFishyFish Ahh i see!! I think we've got that here in London aswell though! I remember on the news they were talking about it on how they were going to make it illegal to cross red lights on a bike. The punishment was supposed to be the same as it would be for any other vehicle. A fine that is sent to your house. I dont know much about it anymore though :/
@britishairwayspilot1 Bikes still need to follow highway code since they move on the road, but pedestrians do pretty much anything they like. Red Man should be called "Wait Until Car Has Green Light And Jump In Front Of Him Man". :-)
It's true motorists are frequently impatient with cyclists, but cyclists don't help themselves. I see many examples of bad driving but I see more examples of bad cycling. I live in Bristol, where unlit cycles outnumber lit ones and cyclists frequently jump red lights, cycle on pavements, and ignore pedestrians on crossings. I say this as a motorist AND a cyclist. If you want to be treated like a road vehicle, behave like one.
Looks like the cyclist was moving too fast for the conditions/visibility and stopping distance. Everyone knows that pedestrians blunder around like zombies in city centres.
same thing happened to me at Kings Cross - women stepped out from behind a cab when I had the Green and my bike caught her bag and I ended up sprawled on the road. I ring my bell a bit more now but still they jay walk. Its almost as common as car incidents. Pedestrians should wear an ID tag and not be allowed to cross the road untill they have passed the green cross code (lol).
overtaking on the inside is illegal simple as that. but this is another cyclist who does not think the rules apply to him. this guy was asking for trouble and he got it
Here is an idea... adapt your speed to the traffic ahead. Even if the ped is wrong to be in the middle of the road they are clearly visible. There is no excuse hitting them under these circumstances. Also, a cyclist turning right over to lanes (from the lane going straight) is likely to get less sympathy than the cyclists riding according to traffic regulation... IMHO.
the cyclist had right of way, if a pedestrain is crossing the road and is hit by the cyclist they can be prosecuted by the cyclist even if they got injured too.
I'm in to cycling and all, and obviously heavily anti-cyclist comments are just plain bullshit. But this is a case of cyclist hits pedestrian, and there was time to brake- the pedestrians were half way across the road, they didn't just step out, cyclist should have stopped.
All you anti-cyclists only hate cyclists because we might hold you up for 2 seconds or that we pass you when you are in traffic jams. Don't go making up other bullshit to try and further your agenda.
@Adeel2k11 no one should of been crossing the road anyway. Red man means stop and Green means go. it was red. No one should have been on the road so no, he shouldn't of stopped.
@Hartsock91 you are correct, but my first comment was talking in general terms and hinting at the 'inconvenience' some cyclists cause to pedestrians when the latter run red lights. both sides make errors and my point is that your view (expressed earlier) is unrealistic.
the cyclist is completely in the wrong here, in Britain the pedestrian has right of way at all times regardless of the colour of the traffic lights, the cyclist was going to fast and was unable to stop to allow the pedestrian to finish crossing the road, if a policeman was around then the cyclist might have been charged with dangerous driving
@werhold you need to read the highway code pal. Regardless of lights? You shouldn't go anywhere near a road either on wheels or on foot, you're a fricking liability
Pedestrian hits cyclist? You've got to be kidding me! I acknowledge pedestrian was crossing against a red light in a group. The cyclist deliberately turned into a group of pedestrians at speed! Aren't all road users in the UK legally required to make all reasonable attempts to avoid a collision, regardless of who failed to give way? A self righteous motorist who deliberately drives into a group of cyclists would be rightly locked up. This self righteous cyclist should be charged with assault.
When I drive my car, all cyclists and pedestrians are imbeciles. When I ride my bicycle all motorists and pedestrians are imbeciles. When I'm walking in the street all motorists and bicyclists are imbeciles.
Anyone on a road should be looking for potential hazards yes the pedestrian shouldn't have been crossing but at the same time there is no excuse for not seeing her and stopping. I am amused at the comments of cyclists are allowed on the road because the roads are paid for from council tax, then in the next comment talk about how the pedestrians have no right to be on the road.
Cyclist made a right turn from a straight-only lane. It's definitely at least partly his fault for that reason. It looks like there's a don't walk sign, though. I'll just call it Karma for both sides, and hope nobody got seriously hurt.
This has nothing on cycling on my university campus. Going 30 (km/h) I had a girl step into the side of my bike from between parked cars. She was texting while crossing the road. I was okay, but her phone was trashed. Or the time where a guy was running up the wrong side of the road with his head down then suddenly cut across into my path ruining an $80 rim. F-ing tools.
Boris Johnson has done NOTHING with all his wealthy friends & contacts in the square mile of the City of London (one of the richest places in the WORLD)to get ONE SINGLE official cycle lane. They have incredible power, and power means that the money from drivers tax is seen as more important, than space saving , greener, cyclists,
His Boris Bikes are Barclays backed for one reason...he likes all the B's - goes with Boris. Also the blue colour is his own Tory blue
Its like a rat race in london all busy rushing to work so you can paying your taxes so liblabcon can give it away to the eu and foreign aid to india....
@VanDiggler404 She was in the wrong and was lucky it wasn't a bus that hit her. The cyclist was the one who hit the floor at speed. By the way, I'm a cyclist who does give way and stops at red lights so don't make sweeping generalizations about cyclists, plenty of car drivers drive really badly and they have a nice steel cocoon to protect them.
its a shame the cyclist wasn't seriously injured, because riding like that he could kill a pedestrian or children, some people are tourists trying to cross the road, completely the cyclists fault, he was unable to stop and he's very luck he didnt fall into the path of the red taxi. Ban all cyclists from london, they never give way, they just dont want to take there feet of the pedals ever, they are suicidal morons, all of them, riding a cycle in any city is asking for death,
This comment has received too many negative votesshow

@brendanodolan haha you people make me laugh. you talk as if drivers were the best types, or even better, peds do pay attention and respect others. riiiight. get cycling and then tell me your impressions.
@joemontana01 Well i got to agree with that dude. I'm pro bycicle but if this guy had been as uncausious and wreckless in a car, 3 people would be dead.
@joemontana01 If I hit someone on my motorbike riding like that I would be in trouble, its consider all road users, you should be able to stop on your own side of the road within the distance you can see to be clear, poor cycling
@ddxjon Yes but you should be traveling at a speed in which you can stop inner city lots of women and children around, come on you know it was irratic riding
@ddxjon No what Im saying is when you drive or ride around in a busy city centre regardless of who is right or wrong the person with the vehicle should take extra care because vehicles cause more damage when there is an accident than two people walking into each other, traffic lights were introduced because of people without road courtesy, same as chevrons in the road, zebra crossings and the list goes on, you toot to warn but be prepared to stop, the bike was going too fast, fact
@2wheelsteve no its not, riding "too fast" is riding over the speed limit. If you drive in a busy road that's set to 20mph you are expected to drive at that speed. He is not oblidged to ride slowly because you expect pedestrians on the road. The only thing that he did wrong was not having the reaction and vision to see that people are still crossing. But in no way can you say that he did something wrong for running over a pedestrian.
@ddxjon As I said innitially I wouldn't have hit the pedestrian because I ride more cautiously, he was getting speed up that he wasnt willing to lose because its more work on the legs.
Poor selfish riding regardless of who's in the right
@brendanodolan Just because you have seen a few cyclists riding poorly, it doesn't mean every single other cyclist rides in the same way. It is the poorly educated (or totally uneducated) cyclists that give the rest a bad name.
The cyclist had done nothing wrong here - ped at fault. The cyclist was using the road as per normal and as every other road user (cyclists are [by law] allowed the same rights on the road as motorvehicle users). the ped should just not have crossed.
@brendanodolan How can it be a cyclist fault when the pedestrians crossed the road at red light? It's ped fault, and it's a shame that she didn't get hurt...
@brendanodolan I hope you get killed or injured , peds should not just charge out into traffic on their red like that , not everyone will be able to stop in time . But obviously dickheads like you can't understand that.
@jacmar44 .We poor drivers have to put up with you idiots on the road, Look carefully and you will see that the dick head cyclist was in the left lane which is a straight ahead lane only, he then swerved right without signalling and became a cropper. so now tell me who's fault it is, he was in the wrong lane, RED LIGHT MEANS STOP, AMBER LIGHT MEANS STOP, GREEN LIGHT MEANS STOP, AND ONLY GO IF IT'S SAFE TO DO SO. This is in the highway code. So there
@brendanodolan Not all cyclists are idiots , not all drivers are good either and you know that. And yes , that cyclist does sverve from the straight ahead lane and yes he does not proceed with caution, but neither do them idiotic peds which souldn't be crossing at all! What you said about stopping at the green is plainly stupid - try stopping at a green and you will get so much rage on you from IMPATIENT DRIVERS NOT CYLISTS that you will shit yourself.
suicidel morons your the ones killing the fucking planet !
its not that we dont want to take our feet off the pedals, its called rights if some dick doesnt give way to me on a junction ill just carry on and not slow down or swerve. because we have rights and some drivers need to learn that.
funny how the cab does not hit anybody. cyclist hit ped to prove a point if you aint paying road tax then you should not be using them. roads are for cars and things with a motor.
@MrSmudge84 there's no such thing as road tax. part of your council tax is to maintain roads, so you can use any road really. drivers pay extra tax because they pollute the air. but if you dont like that, complain to brit gov, not with cyclists. if i could choose i wouldnt ride on the road neither. well, maybe.
@MrSmudge84 road tax is about carbon dioxide emissions, not being on the road. But i do agree the cyclist was completely in the wrong and too many of them think they are invincible.
@MrSmudge84 so my ebike's fine then cause it has a motor?! fantastic! thanks for clarifying it all for me! your clear and unbiased logic has really saved me a moral dilemma!
@MrSmudge84 you pay about £200 a year 'road tax' it costs £200,000 to re surface a mile of road. By that logic, you can drive on 176 yds of road this year - happy motoring
@joemontana01 not soon enough though, peds are stupid but they do have right of way if they are already half way across the road and i saw them from the other set of traffic lights so why didnt the cyclist.
@stopthehatechild fair enough, but does it mean that peds should start running when they're supposed to wait / look out for cars coming toward them? look at 0:16, you can see the peds red light right on their face.
@Stralis123 To be fair, the cyclist was knocked over while the pedestrian came out unscathed. That isn't exactly possible in a car-pedestrian collision.
@degnaw Well, that girl aint hulk so she couldnt knock over a car. Bikes have brakes as I recall, he could atleast slow down, but nooo. Full speed ahead captain :))
@TheViewer45 i'd do that too, but it takes me 1/3 of the time i'd spend on public transport, plus i dont waste time in a stinky gym. just need to work around peds and white vans ;)
she was in the crosswalk the pedestrian ALWAYS has the right of way. they should of all slowed down when they saw pedestrians still in the cross walk. i would sue that bi cyclist for every thing he owns and everything his children and childrens children will ever own
why is it that only british people bitch about everything that happens on the road with bikes?

@8pens Really? I read it fine. No cyclist ran a red light in this video.
Hartsock91 1 month ago
@Hartsock91 you are correct, but my first comment was talking in general terms and hinting at the 'inconvenience' some cyclists cause to pedestrians when the latter run red lights. both sides make errors and my point is that your view (expressed earlier) is unrealistic.
8pens 4 weeks ago
the cyclist is completely in the wrong here, in Britain the pedestrian has right of way at all times regardless of the colour of the traffic lights, the cyclist was going to fast and was unable to stop to allow the pedestrian to finish crossing the road, if a policeman was around then the cyclist might have been charged with dangerous driving
werhold 3 months ago
@werhold you need to read the highway code pal. Regardless of lights? You shouldn't go anywhere near a road either on wheels or on foot, you're a fricking liability

The pedestrian deserves a good beating for running a red light.

Anyone on a road should be looking for potential hazards yes the pedestrian shouldn't have been crossing but at the same time there is no excuse for not seeing her and stopping. I am amused at the comments of cyclists are allowed on the road because the roads are paid for from council tax, then in the next comment talk about how the pedestrians have no right to be on the road.

is it me or did it look like the pedestrian punched him ? coz she didnt move an inch and getting hit by a bike going that speed it would hurt
666xmike 3 months ago
Cyclist made a right turn from a straight-only lane. It's definitely at least partly his fault for that reason. It looks like there's a don't walk sign, though. I'll just call it Karma for both sides, and hope nobody got seriously hurt.
CaptainCocaine 3 months ago

Ban all cyclists from london, they never give way, they just dont want to take there feet of the pedals ever, they are suicidal morons, all of them, riding a cycle in any city is asking for death,

poseclop 4 months ago
@joemontana01 If I hit someone on my motorbike riding like that I would be in trouble, its consider all road users, you should be able to stop on your own side of the road within the distance you can see to be clear, poor cycling
2wheelsteve 3 months ago
@2wheelsteve or you dont cross on a red light?
ddxjon 3 months ago
@ddxjon Yes but you should be traveling at a speed in which you can stop inner city lots of women and children around, come on you know it was irratic riding
2wheelsteve 3 months ago
@2wheelsteve you're telling me that if a vehicle runs at 20mph at a 20mph road hits a pedestrian its the vehicles fault? no.
thats not irratic riding. That pedestrian couldve if the cyclist wanted, been fined. There is a reason why there is a traffic light.
ddxjon 3 months ago
@ddxjon No what Im saying is when you drive or ride around in a busy city centre regardless of who is right or wrong the person with the vehicle should take extra care because vehicles cause more damage when there is an accident than two people walking into each other, traffic lights were introduced because of people without road courtesy, same as chevrons in the road, zebra crossings and the list goes on, you toot to warn but be prepared to stop, the bike was going too fast, fact
2wheelsteve 3 months ago
@2wheelsteve no its not, riding "too fast" is riding over the speed limit. If you drive in a busy road that's set to 20mph you are expected to drive at that speed. He is not oblidged to ride slowly because you expect pedestrians on the road. The only thing that he did wrong was not having the reaction and vision to see that people are still crossing. But in no way can you say that he did something wrong for running over a pedestrian.
ddxjon 3 months ago
@ddxjon As I said innitially I wouldn't have hit the pedestrian because I ride more cautiously, he was getting speed up that he wasnt willing to lose because its more work on the legs.
Poor selfish riding regardless of who's in the right
2wheelsteve 3 months ago
@brendanodolan Just because you have seen a few cyclists riding poorly, it doesn't mean every single other cyclist rides in the same way. It is the poorly educated (or totally uneducated) cyclists that give the rest a bad name.
The cyclist had done nothing wrong here - ped at fault. The cyclist was using the road as per normal and as every other road user (cyclists are [by law] allowed the same rights on the road as motorvehicle users). the ped should just not have crossed.
Im a van driver.
policeblue999 5 months ago
@brendanodolan How can it be a cyclist fault when the pedestrians crossed the road at red light? It's ped fault, and it's a shame that she didn't get hurt...
JonasKontautas 5 months ago
@brendanodolan you muppet, peds should not cross a road when its not clear to do so..its a road..bikes and cars are free to drive on them

rfgcabral 4 months ago
@brendanodolan I hope you get killed or injured , peds should not just charge out into traffic on their red like that , not everyone will be able to stop in time . But obviously dickheads like you can't understand that.
jacmar44 4 months ago
@jacmar44 .We poor drivers have to put up with you idiots on the road, Look carefully and you will see that the dick head cyclist was in the left lane which is a straight ahead lane only, he then swerved right without signalling and became a cropper. so now tell me who's fault it is, he was in the wrong lane, RED LIGHT MEANS STOP, AMBER LIGHT MEANS STOP, GREEN LIGHT MEANS STOP, AND ONLY GO IF IT'S SAFE TO DO SO. This is in the highway code. So there
brendanodolan 4 months ago
@brendanodolan Not all cyclists are idiots , not all drivers are good either and you know that. And yes , that cyclist does sverve from the straight ahead lane and yes he does not proceed with caution, but neither do them idiotic peds which souldn't be crossing at all! What you said about stopping at the green is plainly stupid - try stopping at a green and you will get so much rage on you from IMPATIENT DRIVERS NOT CYLISTS that you will shit yourself.
jacmar44 4 months ago
@brendanodolan how the fuck are we
suicidel morons your the ones killing the fucking planet !
its not that we dont want to take our feet off the pedals, its called rights if some dick doesnt give way to me on a junction ill just carry on and not slow down or swerve. because we have rights and some drivers need to learn that.

funny how the cab does not hit anybody. cyclist hit ped to prove a point if you aint paying road tax then you should not be using them. roads are for cars and things with a motor.
MrSmudge84 5 months ago
@MrSmudge84 there's no such thing as road tax. part of your council tax is to maintain roads, so you can use any road really. drivers pay extra tax because they pollute the air. but if you dont like that, complain to brit gov, not with cyclists. if i could choose i wouldnt ride on the road neither. well, maybe.

FatRakoon 5 months ago
@MrSmudge84 Road tax is for emissions you numb skull everybody pays for the roads through council tax. Many cyclists are car drivers too.
milzeh 4 months ago
@MrSmudge84 road tax is about carbon dioxide emissions, not being on the road. But i do agree the cyclist was completely in the wrong and too many of them think they are invincible.

@MrSmudge84 why do idiots like this always jump to the road tax band wagon. Road tax does not pay for roads!

sn0wchyld 2 months ago
@MrSmudge84 you pay about £200 a year 'road tax' it costs £200,000 to re surface a mile of road. By that logic, you can drive on 176 yds of road this year - happy motoring
robbierunciman 2 months ago
The guy driving the car hit his brakes but of course the cyclist just charges right through.
stopthehatechild 6 months ago 9
@stopthehatechild actually he pulled the brakes too, otherwise she'd at least fallen over.
joemontana01 5 months ago
@joemontana01 not soon enough though, peds are stupid but they do have right of way if they are already half way across the road and i saw them from the other set of traffic lights so why didnt the cyclist.
chelseachelsea26 4 months ago 2
You can see in slow motion that the cyclist forces the pedestrians run out the way to avoid being hit.
Fucking idiot. He's lucky he didn't fall in front of that taxi, shame he didn't really.

Vehicles yield to pedestrians in all circumstances.
stopthehatechild 6 months ago 2
@stopthehatechild fair enough, but does it mean that peds should start running when they're supposed to wait / look out for cars coming toward them? look at 0:16, you can see the peds red light right on their face.
joemontana01 5 months ago
@joemontana01 Don't like it when somebody does it to you do you? Funny that considering just how many cyclists shoot red lights every single day.

If that was a car it would be " car hits pedestrian", when its a bicycle its" pedestrian hits cyclist".
Stralis123 6 months ago
@Stralis123 To be fair, the cyclist was knocked over while the pedestrian came out unscathed. That isn't exactly possible in a car-pedestrian collision.
