  • Can anybody upload the music (instrumental) of the song which run during the credits showing. It is one of my sweetest childhood memory that I have lost. Thanks.

  • 3:11 to 3:14... WOW!!!!!!

  • hi there, will you give me the sequence of this series? i want to watch it... thanks

  • It doesn't matter the order you watch it. Start with opening ceremony and finish with closing ceremony and watch all the others in between. There was no order (chronolological or sporting) I could determine when the show was transmitted on TV.

  • Wow, out of nowhere they play Finlands national anthem. I gotta check up what did they win.

  • @DisasterOnline

The national anthems had nothing to do with winning medals. All anthems played are from previous host nations

  • I was a placard bearer in the opening and closing ceremonies and over the years lost my VHS recording of these events. Thanks so much for posting these videos!!

  • If its any help, it was Lionel Ritchie that sang and not Diana Ross.

I remember it well, like some of the others who have posted, I was one of the athletes too.

Even all these years later, it still seems very special to watch.

  • I understand that Lional Richie performed in the closing ceremonies but have been unable to find a video showing it.

  • I think Diana Ross did too. Didn't she sing "Reach Out And Touch Somebody's Hand"?

  • Thanks for this, not sure my children would have believed I ran around the track with the flag at the closing ceremony, now I have proof, brings back some good memories

  • glad to be of service, what did you do in LA?

  • bud greenspan rocks i hope we can see more magical moments in bejing.

  • one of the most beautiful moments in film history.

  • The Finnish, Dutch, British, French, Australian, Canadian, Mexican, and American national anthems are heard here.

  • Placido and friends sing parts of the national anthems of Netherlands, Italy, Great Britain, France, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Germany and USA.

  • Wow! Haven't seen this in more than 20 years.

Thanks, ynotlleb. And thanks, too, Julia59 for reminding me that the composer was Lee Holdridge.

  • Thank you very much for sharing!

  • Glad you liked it, I copied a 20 year old video tape onto my computer to preserve the whole film. It seemed like a good idea to share it on YouTube.

  • It's very important video for me! For us behind "iron courtain' Olympic Games were in Moscow, not in Los Angeles! We knew very little about this LA Games. Many years after Closing Ceremony I heard wonderful Placido Domingo's interpretation of Lee Holdridge's A Hymne of Nations and even I was able to buy a official LP :-) Thank you again.
