The MacArthur Study Bible is my favorite, then probably the ESV Study Bible. I don't agree with there commentary on spiritual gifts but still a great Bible. NIV study Bible is great too.
@ChristIsSaviour12 What happens to be your favorite study Bible? Have you ever tried the HCSB study bible? I'm trying to stick to one, but there are so many!
@StevieWonder501 i have NKJV NLT ESV And Life in the Spirit Study Bible KJV, my favorite study bible is the NKJV... i was going to buy the HCSB but i did not, i bout the Life in the Spirit Study Bible KJV which i just got in the mail today and it might be my second favorite study bible i was going through it and i liked it alot!! I will buy the HCSB but not yet. Yes they are many study bibles and its hard to pick one
@StevieWonder501 you will find one i was like that too or maybe you will get two or three like me lol. I know there are lots of study bibles it was hard for me to pick one, it was driving me crazy..but i use the NKJV most of the time i stick to that one...if your looking for a study bible get one that speaks to you the one that gets your attention. But it is good to have more then one study bible
@ChristIsSaviour12 Well thank you for the advice :) I have the ESV Study Bible and the NASB Study Bible (with the NIV Study Bible notes), and they're pretty good - the ESV one is outstanding in my opinion.
Even if you don't get the HCSB, I would still recommend the translation itself - I'm sure you know about it, but it's kind of in-between the NIV and the ESV (or say the NKJV). Right now it's my primary reading translation...though I guess the ESV and NASB are as well :) Grace and Love
I just ordered my copy. I have been a KJV only person for many years. However when I started learning and understanding how the texts worked and how they came together over the past 2000 years everything fell in place. I had to back off from the KJV only idea and start with other transalations. The Bible is a miracle in itself! So I am looking for my copy of the ESV Study Bible!
Furthermore, I am not sure what a "bad" Bible is. And if there are "bad" dones then what is the criteria for a "good" one? Gail Riplinger is hardly scholarship.
No, these are for the general public. They just have so much to offer they can be used for more in-depth bible/theological study. It offers good notes on the scripture and offers more detailed information in the articles at the end. They are written in an easy to understand way so that everyone can benefit from them. The notes usually include enough information and define their terms so that the reader doesn't get lost.
is that the regular or personal size?

I am only fourteen so do'nt judge me if this is a stupid question/guess: These study bibles are for theology students?

@Diffrentjamsith Good question.

@Diffrentjamsith this summer an esv student study bible is supposed to be released. targeted toward high school and college students,
but the average 9th grader should be able to navigate the regular study bible well enough.
