I hadn't thought about using the Wilton fondant to make gum paste. Great idea! Do you make gum paste as you need it or mix the whole box and store it? How much tylose do you use? Thanks for all the wonderful videos. You don't know how much they help.

Thanks! I'm glad you found my videos useful. :) I usually keep a bunch of it ready at hand but I'm always making it too because I use it so quickly. :) It doesn't take much tylose really, just a couple of tablespoons for 2 pounds of fondant. :)

hi just curious u said you painted soem of em is it possible to just incorporate food coloring to reach the desire color with the gumpaste? am new to all of this so have no idea. please help!

Hi! Yes you can definitely mix in gel food coloring to color gumpaste, which is what I did with these little guys. When I said I painted, I meant the little details like the white stripes on the jumpsuit or the zig zag lines on the green guy. :)

Can you tell me what I can do to prevent my gumpaste from cracking as it dries? I am using Wilton gumpaste. Is that the problem?

I have always add a little Crisco and food wilton food colorings, and no matter what, my figures dry and crack (or at least get a "wrinkled" look).

Thank you! I have also tried Wilton Gumpaste and to be honest with you, I didn't like it at all. It was very dry to start and not very pliable. That is why I switched to making my own gumpaste out of Wilton fondant mixed with Tylose powder. I highly recommend it. It starts off very soft and you still have time to maneuver! :)

Thanks! These guys will probably go standin up. I individually wrap these guys first with kleenex. Fill all the empty spaces like between legs, under arms, etc. Then I wrap them with soft tissue and then wrap them each with bubble wrap. This is how I've managed to not have any break on me in the past. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for these little dudes! LOL! :) Glad you liked them! :)

Those are great...Just bought some gumpaste and can't wait to make some figurines...What did you use for the silver? What is silver sheen?

Thank you! The silver is an airbrush paint by AmeriColor and the color is silver sheen. You can find the color online. It's not too expensive. I think I paid like $8 for decent size bottle. :) Glad you liked'em! :)
