  • @BarackHassanbinsober You r so wrong. You should ask someone who's a long time user & managed to successfully withdraw from it. I'd been a frequent user of Valium for 20 yrs & on 270mg per month. I went cold turkey. Yes, withdrawal effects was hell but it's a means to detoxify the drugs. The worst was depression, hallucination, dark imaginations & suicidal thoughts. But just ignore all these deceptions & you'll be on the road to recovery. Don't worry. Nothing is impossible if you r determine .

  • My doctor told me I'll need to be on drugs my whole life. So I quit all the dangerous pharmaceuticals and now just use Marijuana only. The herb is my medicine, I don't get withdrawals when I don't feel like using it or I forget to take it, it's all natural, and doesn't rot your brain like pharmaceuticals do. I feel 100% better than I did when I was on those dangerous pharmaceuticals. Thank God for Medical Marijuana!

  • After 3 years on Klonopin, then 4 on Ativan (8 mg per day), I was cut-off after a voluntary detox from prescribed pain management Morphine. No doctor (including ER) would reinstate. The Morphine was a relative (6 day) breeze compared to the nearly 1 year horriffic withdrawals from Ativan, of which they detox hosp. gave me only a 6 day taper, where hell began!

There's a Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Support Group on Facebook if anyone's in need of help regarding benzo withdrawal, or considering it.

  • i KNOW NOW THAT i HAVE NO HOPE OF EVER BEING FREE FROM THIS EVIL DRUG . = [

I have been given at least 8000 mgs of Clonazepame for six years!

I have found that there is no help...it changes your mental state...it ruins your thought patterns. You are anxious for no reason...it is just the Narcotic that has changed your nervous system.

  • @BarackHassanbinsober YES YOU CAN. GO TO A HOSPITAL AND GET A DETOX. I ABUSED ATIVAN FOR 22 YEARS AND DID IT. WAS IT EASY? NOPE. MY WITHDRAWALS LASTED FOR 8 MONTHS AND I DID NOT SLEEP FOR PROBABLY THAT LONG. IT IS NOT EASY, IT IS WORSE THAN GETTING OFF HEROIN. YOU CAN DO IT THOUGH!

  • i KNOW NOW THAT i HAVE NO HOPE OF EVER BEING FREE FROM THIS EVIL DRUG . = [

  • PSYCHIATRISTS KILL PEOPLE INTENTIONALLY. BEWARE!!!.

  • Then what do you recomend for a child w/severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder...

  • @Katszr Good whole-food nutrition, daily exercise both play and non-play, plenty of rel-time love, some kids to play with, safety, no anger, and nature will heal most things, if not all, much better than psychiatric drugs, which heal nothing, ever! They are not medicines. They only cause more illness. Trust in nature, which was good enough for humans long before psych drugs arrived.

  • Why are imperfect, synthetic, addictive drugs legal but weed isn't? It cures everything.

  • correction on my last comment * I can go as long as I want without withdrawal symptoms I meant, not panic attacks*

  • HI Gwen , Any withdrawal symptoms like weird skins sensations and shocks?

  • it must vary a great deal. ive been taking xanax for over a year now, 3mg a day. I have no addictive feelings for them at all. i have a light opiate addiction (small doses of oxycontin tapering into monthly recreational use) i am surprised to hear about all these people with benzo addiction. no matter how much i consume, i dont feel any withdrawl from quitting, knock on wood of course.

  • Excellent video!

  • If anyone watching is living the hell of Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Syndrome, please sign the petition at PetitionOnline dot calm. Just type "benzo" into the search box, and the petition will open in a new window. This is one of the few ways we can draw attention to this massive problem.

    Be well.

  • I did it cold turkey, I do remember thinking that there is no one I dislike enough that I would want them to deal with this, I didnt know when it was going to end or even if , I kept thinking I did permanent damage to my nervous system after about a year the symptons have gone away although my feet still tingle sometimes and feel strange.I am older though so this coulb be why it took so long 48 yrs.

  • @savanah626 ..came off of benzos about 1 year ago after 23 years straight and daily. I think(am guessing) that being a bit older might be an asset. In my case it feels good not to be depressed. I exercise 30 minutes a day and I eat an organic diet and take supplements. It ain't over but it's better than it was a year ago. One rule I followed when in withdrawal is don't read the comments on benzo withdrawal on youtube....:)) So it CAN be done and is certainly worth it!

  • every word is correct. 5 months off xanax cold turkey and i still have withdrawal symptoms. shit sucks. dont ever use this drug every day for a long time. it is the worst thing you can go through.

  • When I was 19 I decided I wanted to stop taking a very high dose of Effexor XR (350mg) a day. My doctor had NO intention of helping me get off the medication so I decided to take matters into my own hands. It took me an entire year to get off the medication but it was worth it. Each month I would drop the dose by 25mg and then allow my body to get use to the decreased dosage. It wasn't easy, but going slow made it possible.

  • Benzos are not bad, they are useful for many people.

  • @Sahand420 Should probably only be used for people nearing the end of their life, severe mental illness or surgical prep, or serious neurological illness like Rabies. No other reason to use these medications!

  • @Sahand420 use them in high, or even moderate/sometimes low dosages, depends on your body- you may just have a very high tolerance, or simply not know what you're talking about as do most people who comment on this type of video or anything related to drugs and their effects

but try going cold turkey from a 7 year/6mg a day PRESCRIBED addiction, and tell me you feel ok, and that benzos aren't bad-- tell all the other people in the world that have suffered, that benzos aren't bad

  • @Sahand420 ..really a dirty,filthy drug.

  • My Aunt has been taken off of two benzo's (Adivan & Helcion) tapered off in about 8 months but she was on them for 30-years. Now...she's going through HELL and the Dr. wants to put her back on something else. She lives alone and has no one to take care of her, we work and can't be with her. She feels like she's crazy. Please help me to help her! Email me with whatever you can tell me to help! ShaeDreams@gmail.com Thank you.

  • I think i have been sufferiing from some sort of anxiety. im a freshman in highschool now and i get this nervous butter flys in your stomach feeling all the time. Its usually for very rediculous things too. i get it just thinking about leaving my classroom to go get help in another, Or just going to the store or a restraunt with people. i really am confused about this and its really getting to my personal life.

  • this is so helpfull and smart. I am a practicing alcoholic and thought xanax would be fun also. My dentist gave me 10 2mg doses of xanax I used them at a couple of times at dragon con after drinking beer.

It made me "not give a damn", which sounds good, but really...think about it.. I had no intrest in the conversations, the events, i didn't even lust after girls. I am so glad that After the fist couple of nights I decided to not take em. These drugs make life pass you by.

  • I've been on heavy benzo's for a year now, been coming off reducing the dose for last couple of months. Can't really say I'm having any real withdrawal symptomes.

  • PLEASE POST YOUR OWN VIDEO OF YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH BENZO WITHDRAWAL!

I'm 6 months into a 6 day abrupt taper (after 7 year, progressively increased dosage of Ativan/Lorazepam), which has me a neurological wreck six months after my detox doctor, ER doctors, and my own PRESCRIBING doctor got worried about legal ramifications, and refused to reintroduce ANY benzo. They ALL walked away from this issue, while I cowar in a corner! FUCK THEM!

  • Ive found zolpidem and zolpiclone to not be addictive, and seeing as im a complete addict that means they definitely arent addictive! They help with insomnia and are a good alternative to hardcore benzos.

  • Thanks so much for this supurb video.

  • WRONG: saying that "you're detoxifying." Research "GABA." Zanax, Klonopin, Ativan/Lorazepam, take the place (does a better job) of the naturally occurring GABA (relaxing) chemical neuro-receptor. After a while, the brain stops making GABA all together, as it doesn't have to.

Pull the drug (which ever Benzo), and you become a "feral cat on crack in traffic!"

Depending on duration & dosage, it could take 6 to 18 months to bring the GABA level back to pre-benzo level. I'm in hell!

    Screw my Dr!

  • Wow, you nailed this right on. Benzo HELL. HELL!!! I am hugely down from my dosage from 4 years ago. WOW WAS IT A LONG ROAD.

  • if you want to quit, you have to ween yourself off, slowly it also depends how long you been taking the drug and which benzo your on...benzo withdrawl can be much worse than a heroin withdrawl...

i went thru a klonopin withdrawl and it was the worst 2 days of my life...

  • i just started tapering about a week ago (stopped klonopin cold turkey, switched to oxazepam for tapering) and its starting to get really fucking weird.. i've had great success with lithium but goddamn, klonopin is a fucking demon drug

i can't even describe the withdrawal, its just absolute hell, totally insane

  • I just started a "Benzo Withdrawal" support group on Facebook. 1st for support of this hideous condition doctors help create. Please spread the word!

    Thanks, Scott

  • GREAT work!! VERY insightful and educational.

  • I've been suffering for month now & i am worn out. I have been taking 2mg Klonopin every day for 8 yrs. I have been thru opiate withdrawals cold turkey so it's not like i'm a wimp. But these withdrawals just keep coming with no end in sight. I feel i am losing my mind. I do know lack of sleep affects you, but where are these suicidal thoughts coming from? Also, how could my Dr. say a 1 month taper would be enough? They don't want to hear or be responsible for prescribing such an insidious drug.

  • @Bahnain Get another Doctor...you cannot get off in a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All true...tell your Dr. you can't handle the withdrawals...He will put you back on the meds. It is serious...you can have seizures from the withdrawals. I am not a Doctor...just a person wants to ban Benzos...they are evil.

  • @Bahnain I was on 6mg/day xanax for 5 years, tapered to 6 mg/day clonazepam for 8 months, now have tapered to 20mg/day diazepam. I was also put into a forced taper originally 2 years ago from 6mg xanax to ZERO in 11 days! It WILL drive you insane, its not speculation, a fast taper will make you lose it totally. It's hard enough on the Ashton Taper which I am on now. The suicidal thoughts you are feeling are dangerous and you have to go back on and taper down. You are right, no dr wants to script

  • @Bahnain have you tried trazedoneto sleep? Works like a charm 4 me. Ive gottten off 9 mgs klon. a day sleeping w. trazedone.

  • @Bahnain you wrote this 4 months ago how are you feeling now? I pulled off klonopin after 2 years use 1 month ago and have been in really bad shape. My doctor said 7-10 days LOL 7-10 days was how long I was in psychosis for.

  • suche benzos im raum düsseldorf zahle gut

  • @Bahnain

You can get off them, it took me 18 months but I got there. Just be prepared for the most fucked up ride of your life.

Why are the most dangerous drugs legal? Fucking strange that...

  • @munted66 ,,taken me two years...:)

  • I am so afraid that what i'm going through is never going to end. I thought there were limits to human suffering! I have been prescribed 2mg Klonopin since 2001. I have gone through opiate withdrawals cold turkey, and even though they are excruciating hell, this is much worse. I am not strong enough for this, today is my birthday,(worst ever) I am 1 month into this, I can't fight anymore. I was going to kill myself 2 days ago. What is about this drug that makes you think that way? What can i do?

  • @Bahnain You can't just stop...I was on 3mg a day for 5 yrs. I posted this because I was never told that these tabs from hell would destroy my life!!! Don't listen to the withdrawals (i.e. killing yourself) get back on them until you feel normal...then ease off a little at a time. It has taken me 6 months to get to 1 1/2 mg a day sometimes I need more. Withdrawals are horrible...nausea and flu like syptoms...disassociation...feeling of overwhelming fear and anxiety.

  • @Bahnain

    Hang on.

In time everything will be ok.

  • @Bahnain It will pass takes a while I went to aa meetings to distract me and tried not to isolate when I could God bless you hope it passes fast and soon. It will end though for sure. Its a man size job.

  • lol i hate the whole anti all drug message this video has, seriously just dont use it everyday and only use it in severe situations. drugs are an important stabilizing thing for many people but should be treated with respect

  • kiss your brain good bye!

  • Hey, can i ask you something?

Please reply.. i need to know ASAP..

if you take Prescribed drugs when your sick

and then you drink alcohol the next day..

or the next hour.. or couple of hours.

    what will happen?

  • maybe she had a shitty psychiatrist. the FIRST thing my Dr. warned me about was to use benzos with caution because they are highly addictive if taken regularly for periods longer than a few weeks.

Last year I had a break and I couldn't sleep (sometimes for DAYS); I became deranged. I was diagnosed with bipolar I with psychotic features.

clonazepam (and lithum) saved my mind! I don't take clon every day, but when I feel the "crazy" coming, nothing else helps. I can finally go back to school.

  • @GRNoam The crazy that you're feeling is the withdrawal from the drug...they should be banned...I have been on them for five years...it is impossible for me to

    stop...the withdrawals are too much...=[

  • @BarackHassanbinsober nah, pretty sure it's just good old fashioned crazy: I used to think there were cameras in air vents, that everyone was laughing at me (I could hear them chuckle) etc. well before I even touched a benzo. I would spend days without sleep, my thoughts became nonsensical. I would go from being on top of my math and chemistry classes to failing everything.

lithium and benzos are a miracle 4 me. you just gotta b careful, not use benzos regularly: they're the PANIC button :)

  • @BarackHassanbinsober pt. II (ran out of space)

and you gotta do your own research, not just take the first thing a Dr. gives you. People are way overmedicated today, and Drs (especially in the US [I'm in Canada, it's a bit less so here]) are too trigger-happy when it comes to meds.

the research and scientific studies and meta-studies are freely available online. in most cases, benzos shouldn't be taken regularly; they should be taken only when you're really up and need to be brought down

  • @BarackHassanbinsober i took high doses of ativan for 5 years. my withdrawals were the worse the hospital had ever seen. i was creaming and yelling up and down the halls of the hospital. i was screaming for the doctors to take the pain away. i was so suicidal they had to tie me up on this chair.it lasted about 6 or 7 months. now i feel normal. you better stop taking benzos now...cuz if you wait, the withdrawals will last longer.

  • @BarackHassanbinsober

"The crazy that you're feeling is the withdrawal from the drug" True! Most people don't realize. Lots of people say "Oh I only take it when the crazy hits"- they don't realize that even if it is a month or two or even three, the pills they took then are STILL causing withdrawal effects, in episodes.

Once 100% benzo-free for 6 months or a year, then "the crazy" just goes away! Most anxiety, most depression, most fear, and much pain, all go away. It's beautiful.

  • @GRNoam it's all about cost/benefit.

  • @GRNoam thats good that you can take it every once in awhile,... most cant with extreme anxiety.Theres plenty of doctors that dont tell you the dangers of this drug,...it wont save you in the end if you stay on it,... trust what this video says & I know from personal experience myself.

  • iT'S PRONOUNCED "ANG-ZIO-LIE-TICS", NOT ANGZEEOLYDICS!

  • Great video. I was prescribed klonopin by a psychiatrist for 10 years for "generalized anxiety disorder." (divorce) Whenever I tried to go off the drug, he would tell me that my symptoms were "my nerves coming back" and that I needed to be on the drug for life. I finally tapered off myself and almost died, ending up in intensive and psychiatric care unit. (my "dr" refused to assist my withdrawal.) I no longer take mediation of any kind and refuse the care of all doctors.

  • i just wrote something the other day, and i dont see it. WTF?? Comment Pending Approval?? What would a "Non-Approved" comment be??

  • i've been taking Xanax 1 to 1&1/2mgs daily since Jan. 15th of this year. As a person who had formerly been prescribed to Klonopin(for anxiety) and Lortabs(for mild pain) for years, I was/am aware of possible side effects after discontinuing use of most any controlled substance. My thing now is that I am taking them very carefully, as needed, and usually at 0.25mg doses when feeling uneasy. And it helps.. My question is, since ive been on em short term, and at a low, consistent dose....

  • A very good friend of mine took 482 10mg valium tablets the other day in a suicide attempt (possibly motivated by a previous valium high) - and is still out of his mind after 5 days.

I'm concerend the withdrawal symptoms may harm him? He's in a pretty bad state - and really lucky to be alive.

Any relevant information will be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • @lanceawatt You don't get withdrwal from taking a huge amount in one night...it has to be taken everyday for a week or more...in my opinion

  • Excellent video.

  • Great information. Thank you for your honest information. Drug companies and most doctors are "in it together" and are simply chasing after the almighty dollar.

I worked in cancer care and saw it every day. No one ever wanted to educate patients about diet/natural ways to control pain/etc.... they just sent them out the door with pills. And the doctors and the drug reps made out big time.

I also struggle with what is sometimes debilitating anxiety, but have not started any meds. Thankfully.

  • This is true, I've done my homework and am going through hell coming off 8mg a day. Your body needs time to reproduce the lack of GABA it's trying to replace in it's brain. Insist on blood work to have those levels checked before going on or off xanax. There is a BIG difference between circumstances and chemical imbalances. Just breathe and be persistent in getting to the source of your anxiety, which in part, is the pill itself! Self discipline and good coping skills are important! BE STRONG!

  • I took benzos for sleeping, but weed is better.

  • weed can cause reality loss

  • Aren't you being a bit paranoid about this drug, it was a safe replacement for barbiturates.

How about using morphine again as a cure all...

  • Obviously you haven't gone through withdrawals...you can die from them!

  • I, personally, ended up in the ER over Xanax withdraw while weening off Norco (prescription pain killer opiate). First off, psyche meds as well as others CAUSED me to develop poly peripheral neuropathy,

  • This equates to nerve damage and "mis-firing". You might as well just "shoot up" some Ajax. Some drugs WILL strip your nerves. YOU CAN HEAL THOUGH!

  • Since injuring my neck in a car accident, I have more than one impingement. If you don't know how the spine works, find out. While going cold turkey off xanax -due to lack of compassion or knowledge by the Dr. who prescribed it or the psychiatrist she was consulting I ended up digging the xanax hole deeper while my natural GABA (the source chemical) absolutely couldn't keep up with the sudden loss of 8 or so mgs a day. No hospital could or would help much, if AT ALL.

  • @BaneChaos I think men have it worse when going to hospitals for withdrawal. People expect them to suck it up and deal with it, I don't think you guys get the same amount of sympathy women get. Any hospital that wouldn't treat you as an emergency is a piece of shit imo..the fact that they wouldn't help you properly either means they're ignorant, in denial, or they just don't give a crap. very sad.

  • The muscles in my neck that align with my jugulars started to swell until they were literally strangling me and putting pressure on the impingement which just so happens to press on the exact nerves that run to ALL major organs!!! I could feel the shooting, stabbing and sometimes itching pains. I drink boost with added protein, eat mashed potatoes for the Vitamin K, which helps stop the pain a bit. I've no appetite.

  • But you have to stay hydrated too! Pedialyte is good even though expensive. The less hydrated, the more you'll hurt and your nerves will shrivel up also, making it worse. What is making us panic in the first place? Find the source and be gentle, These ladies know what they're talking about. ween slowly so your brain can rebuild it's GABA. Have bloodwork done. PILLS AREN'T CANDY. Be persistent with your Dr. or fight hard and fast for a better one who will help ween you properly!!!

  • IGNORANCE IS DANGEROUS!!! Don't just trust one Doctor or source. Do your homework on EVERYTHING...EXTENSIVELY! People die by the masses everyday due to pharmaceuticals!!! We can't afford to have anymore over-population or welfare babies. You pay them to help you commit suicide half the time. They'll leave you to suffer for their own intentions. Usually greed or the "good of all". Scary. I'm going off 8mg a day doses at 130lbs body weight, a heart condition, compromised immune system and more.

  • Good vid & Advice. One thing I'd like to add is to fully inform and educate those closest to you (spouse, g/f,b/f, older children) and anyone you share living space with. Let them know that you may be irritable and short tempered for a few weeks. Don't seek sympathy from those around you, but educate them and seek patience. Your moods WILL swing while tapering or cutting out Benzos! You don't need the added stress of people asking you constantly "what's wrong with you?".

    Good Luck!

  • The only way I've "gotten off" of them is SERIOUS discipline in sticking to a program of tapering over at least a 6-12 week taper off. And that is being on 2-3 mgs. a day. It is REALLY hard! Especially if your life is f'd up, unemployed, financial problems, etc. etc....

  • LOL, maybe benzodiazepine addiction is hell. But a benzodiazepine itself is....heaven.

  • The Drug will laugh last ! It is Poison,

  • Thank you.

  • 10 years,,.... WOW 8(

  • Huh? How can one seek medical help when having withdrawal syndromes, if that medical help tells you that you'll never be normal again and need more drugs?

  • You need to find another Dr. that will listen to you...the longer you take them...the harder it is...you will reach a point where you can take them and nothing will happen ! You take more and more...and it lasts less and less.

The Doctors end up treating your withdrawal

symptoms...which are worse than the original anxiety for which they were prescribed.

  • I've tried twice to go off Klonopin with no success. I've given up drinking and smoking successfully, and there is no comparing that to the horrors of withdrawing from Klonopin. The "rebound anxiety" I felt while trying to quit was a hundred times worse than the anxiety I had taken it for. And it went on for MONTHS, until my doctor finally put me back on it because I couldn't function at work. People are smarter about cigarettes now; they need to be smarter about THIS.

  • I know the Hell...still going through it for months now...=[

I have been on them for years...the drug should be banned...it is far worse than can be described...the nausea, rebound anxiety, disassociation, being afraid for no good

reason, not being able to work or function without it, the trembling...funny...it all goes away when you take it again...you feel like a you can cope normally. I want to stop pharmaceutical companies...they don't disclose the long term effects!

  • @AppA I do know lack of sleep is a big contributor to exacerbating all of our withdrawal symptoms, but i've been going thru this for 1 month, & i almost feel like it would be better to stay on the benzos then act on impulsive thoughts, or have withdrawals reach that point where you wish you had just never tried in the first place because you know all this pain & suffering you have gone thru can be instantly fixed by the medication you are trying to get off of, so why fight & be in hell?

  • You are so right! I am on Effexor XR 150mg and my doc told me that there would be "discontinuation sydrome," should I attempt to stop taking them. I have been on several different anti-depressants and I had no problem with tapering off of all of them---all except Effexor. You are right on about Psychiatrists, as well. ZERO talk therapy...only drug pushers.

  • benzos own

  • Benzowithdrawal com gives online support for those that need support.

  • I'd say she never even tryed one.

  • Good Video. It helps confirm to me that drugs dont answer the stress. The best thing you can do is 'remove the things in life that are causing you stress'. Bad relationship? Change the way you talk, and deal with it. Even remove that relationship from your life if this doesnt work. Bad job? Remove it from your life. Drugs are perscribed to keep people going as economic units, regardless of things that arent working in thier lives.

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • All true !!!!
