The song and Lhasa are wonderful. The cinematography is pretentious in the extreme. Very annoying.

I wouldn't say it was pretentious so much as it was just bad! It was like they gave a kid who had never touched a camera in their life before and it just so happened to be this really awesome-looking, high quality, high-def film.
