It really helps that it shows what the Hiragana is!! Because sometimes I see the symbols and i'm like "ahh! What does that mean" but then I can read the hiragana!! Arigatou gozaimasu!!
OMG.. My Japanese teacher got our class to watch this last year, and ever since people are always asking to watch this. I admit it's cool and catchy, but after 20 or more times of hearing it, well.. it kind of drives you insane!! I spent weeks trying to build up a mental block towards this song!! I don't even know why I'm watching it now...
@BlatentlyBooshified They were showing the Kanji, then how it's said above it. The correct term for this is: Furigana. Putting smaller text in Hiragana above more difficult Kanji,
Here in Australia when it is hare we always wish for ame, and when it is ame we wish for hare. You only find yuki in some of the mountains unfortunatly.
well here in chicago we witch the wather woudl make up its' mind it'll rain and snow the same day. be sunny then start snowing. be already snowing and get sunny out of now where.

Your videos are so much fun - i've got my first ever JLPT exam today and they are a nice way to revise for the final time without sticking my head in yet another book!
You got to keep listening to it, before I was like " WOOOOOOAAAAAAHH! SLOW DOWN! I'm a freaking beginner! " But yeah, keep listening to it and try to sing it with the video, not the fast part though... I still have trouble with that sometimes.
No, that's hiragana. It says the same thing as the kanji but uses consonant/vowel clusters like ki ka mi mu, stuff like that... it's the childlike way of writing nouns or ideas. You're supposed to move on to Kanji. Hiragana is then just used for stuff like object markers.
these help me and my friend so muxh. Our senior trip is to japan and we're also going on a trip by ourselves when we graduate to japan so its gonna be fun.

Basically a kanji is a chinese character who can be read in a japanese and a chinese way. Some are but the meaning remains mostly the same.
I've read somewhere you need to learn 2000 kanji to be able to read a japanese newspaper
Well, kanji is my biggest problem too ^^
